BEFORE: Liu back on the network fall schedule - that means a "legends" fight vs old nemesis Salma Hayek. "She's always been Frazier to my Ali," Liu explains of the choice, "besides - you look at the great mass of small-bodied chumpettes fighting today and there's not really a showcase out there worthy of my name and reputation. I don't need a full-on come-back: I just need an 'event' fight, and Hayek/Liu more than qualifies!"

Hayek enjoying a bit of a renaissance following a very competitive, rugged showing against prime Jennifer Love Hewitt...she's champing at the bit to edge ahead of one of her oldest ring-rivals. "Head to head, we're very even," Salma says of the Liu/Hayek career battles. "We've battled each other at every stage of our lives, and the thought of facing her always brings out the best in me. Liu potshotting - leading the right to Hayek's breasts, or brushing it to cheek, then hopping counterclockwise; Salma dipping her head low, stepping in strong to slam right hands wide to Lucy's left flank/lats. When close, Hayek deploys busy hooks to Lucy's ribs/waist while Liu jerks right uppercut counters - Lucy always stepping out, trying to lure Salma into The Big One. Down the stretch - slamming right hand down across Lucy's breasts blasts her back into ropes...Liu stacks her mitts right atop left at her midsection, hunching forward butt-in-ropes as Hayek steps-to, batting loud right hands to flank, salting away the first.

R2: Same counterclockwise, loping/sliding footwork from Liu - she's hoping to bait Salma into a right uppercut, all the while dosing those Latina jugs cute, potshotting lead right hands of opportunity. Hayek stoic, stalking, keeping hands up...she's blocking a lot of shots, but having trouble finding good positions - all her scoring comes in final minute, when Liu's backed herself into a corner and forced to slug toe-to-toe at bell.

R3: Liu roaming to her right - Hayek catches Lucy clean to jaw via leaping left hook, driving Asian vixen wobbly-butt to ropes. Lucy badly rocked, covering up earmuff/butt-in-ropes...Salma goes to work with a full clock. Hooks to Lucy's right flank beat her numb - Hayek arching her back and really cranking home behind Liu's right elbow. Salma using that chickenwinged left elbow like a champ to push-off on Lucy, keeping Liu pinned in ropes, then belting away short right hands to scalp, setting up thick, withering left hooks downstairs. Hayek occasionally reaching her arms in under Lucy's to stack Liu up, then chugging away hup-hup rolling barrages to tummy...Lucy grimacing, tying up behind Hayek's elbows, but unable to answer back. Bell to bell Salma on Lucy violence - Hayek illustrating her strength with brawny shove and slug.

R4: Lucy mouth breathing, feeling the body work...she digs in at apron, leaning forward to fight Salma's fight mouth-on-shoulder. Hayek grinding away, eating Lucy up - girls just rubbing left shoulders against offending jugs, getting off hooks and rights hands to waistlines and flanks; coming up the middle via close-cropped right uppercuts. Hayek's hands busier and heavier, claiming steadily against Asian tummy, tits, ribs and chin...Liu competing in kind, lighting Hayek up in spots, but getting out fought in close-quarters attrition.

R5: Hayek continues to have her way on Liu - jabbing Lucy to ropes, forcing Liu to dig in at apron, and slug. Bruising tit-for-tat as women lay in forehead-on-forehead, punishing each other to breadbasket; spanking offending lats; picking up brazen tits; clipping right uppercuts to chins at intervals. Lucy grimly determined to compete, but she's absorbing a terrible beating...Liu's eyes swelling from clubbing left/rights about her brows, and Hayek's devastating hooks to body are taking a toll. Salma pushing off Lucy all "I'm big!" at bell...long time Liu-hater Nia Peeples tweets: "Lucy's going out soon!"

R6: Hayek continues to land withering leather to body - hooking the hell out of Lucy's tummy and right-side ribs. Liu gasping in pain, sagging into ropes, but rallying to compete: she's dipping side to side, swatting short lefts or rights across Salma's breasts or face - occasionally rolling with the Hayek right hand to answer back rugged right uppercuts to paunch. Salma simply too sturdy - standing strong, keeping Lucy pinned and hunched against ropes. Rounds ends to the sight of a ferocious body-pummelling Hayek-to-Liu: Salma's lips pursed, her arms pumping punches to Liu's breadbasket hup-hup-hup; Lucy mouth agape, eyes shut tight, body slumped into ropes as she sponges punishment to bell.

R7: Same story - Lucy having her moments, fighting crafty off the ropes, catching Salma some fine right hand cuffs, swats and uppercuts...but the bulk of the round is Hayek's. Salma just stooping forward, shoving Lucy into ropes, beating both hands off Asian body, then roaming up top in clubbing sorties against shoulders/breasts/head. Liu frequently sitting in ropes to rest, mouth open, eyes swollen to slits...she's taking one of the harder beatings of her career through 7 rounds of Salma.

R8: Liu heartbroken as a spanking right across her midsection cramps her legs, followed by pumping jabs to poke her ropeside. Hayek merciless, resolute...she's standing off Lucy's bow, prepping her the sticky jab, then leaning in to carry scooping right hands thick to paunch. Liu bunching forward "UH-H!": Hayek rips hooks behind right elbow, then wedges left shoulder in under Liu's chest to lever her upright/stack her to ropes. Beating thumps on and on - Liu showing right hand at left shoulder/left hand at right elbow as she dips and rolls in the pocket. Down the stretch - Hayek pounding away to either Liu hip-flexor with both hands: RIGHT UPPERCUT, LUCY LIU! Liu clipping Salma while leaning back into ropes...Hayek suddenly gobsmacked on the spot - she's stepping in fence post holes and Liu goes over to offence. Lucy slopping the sidearm right to ear/jaw, bludgeoning Salma sideways into ropes as Liu reverses positions. Right uppercut plows Hayek's hulking right breast; left hook clobbers across both jugs; slap-chopping right hacks down across jugs, sitting Hayek staring in ropes. Liu stooping forward, belting away on helpless loaves of heaving Latina rack - Asian girl just rolling her shoulders and stealing the round hup-hup-hup as the crowd goes wild! Peeples tweet during break: "Not impressed with Salma: both grls look shabby 2 me."

R9: Liu in wide, flat footed stance, weaving in and out cobra-style on her hips, pasting fat right hands from the hip while leaning in on front (left) leg; getting slick-swatting left hooks while leaning out onto back (right) leg. Salma soaking it up, pouring back in kind - shocking Liu out of her stance via short right hands to head, then working Lucy's midsection hooks and sidearm rights. Back and forth ring-a-ding-dong slugging has crowd roaring, but down the stretch, Lucy's staggering, staring, getting rocked! Hayek beating Liu into ropes and staying on her to bell - ref has to pull seething Latina legend off her rival.

R10: Hayek tackling Liu into ropes - jostling her, stacking her, bullying her, then squaring away to slug! Robust beating about hips and tummy has Lucy cringing forward butt-in-ropes - her eyes are punched shut, hands stacked right atop left to stop the relentless midsection bombardment. Hayek pushing and punching, staying in rhythm, never falling in to smother herself - straight-arms deliver bone-jarring, batting licks in behind Lucy's protective elbows; short right uppercut kiss off Lucy's overhanging, battered face; short left hooks toggle the chin - punching Lucy's mouthguard off her teeth down the stretch. Steady shove-and-slug has Liu hypnotized by punishment - it's bell to bell Hayek in a Latina romp. UD10 Hayek wide...Lucy Liu's promotional team sent scurrying back to the drawing board!

AFter: "Her legs are gone!" Hayek announces triumphantly in the wake of her thudding victory. "The acrobatic Lucy Liu who once terrorized the lighter weights is a shell of the woman she once was. She's a hollow trickster now - a bait-and-switch artist...but even when her tricks succeeded she could not truly hurt me. The difference is - I can still stand and swap with the likes of Hewitt or Cuthbert, but Lucy's definitely a faded talent at this point!"
