It's perhaps no surprise that the Lioness Club One Year Anniversary event starts with the hosts' most successful fighter in recent months, Heidi Range. The blonde singer defeated Ola Jordan in her last outing which earned her a shot at Virginie Ledoyen for the BBU flyweight title. Heidi is definitely on a hot streak and she'll try to maintain it against Front Street Japan's Yuu Tejima.

Tejima lost both her BBU bouts to date, but they were against top opposition, former flyweight champion Michelle Keegan and reigning ACB champion Penny Higgs. She managed to last full distance against Keegan, something that Range was unable to do and that bodes well for the Asian's chances tonight allthough Heidi has improved a lot over the recent months while Tejima was absent from BBU action. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Spurred on by the Barnet crowd, Heidi comes out swinging; she jabs to Yuu's midsection as the brave visitor was looking to make a move herself. Too brave for Yuu to handle and Heidi cracks a couple of big hooks to the ribs followed by a straight jab to the nose and Tejima must leap back in avoidance. Heidi's on a mission though, she keeps hassling her rival across the ring, peppers her body from mid-distance while Yuu just weaves around on her feet, but shows great agility, avoiding the really vicious shots. She can't tame the onslaught though as Range makes her look really sluggish, that long inactivity period hurting Yuu's sharpness and she just covers up all the way until the bell. Heidi single strikes her to the head late on; crashes off the guard but looks very happy at the bell. This could be a much easier fight for the blonde than she thought beforehand!

Round 2:
More aggression from Heidi who dominates mid-distance with confident jabbing. Yuu weaves back and forth, fires some response, but lacks accuracy; grazes the blonde's body before a huge counter from Range catches her in the mouth! Heidi unloaded a big left hook which really stunned the Japanese girl and it's followed by a right belter to the stomach and the crowd goes wild as Yuu wobbles back to the ropes where the blonde continues to pound her guts much to everyone's delight! Tejima tries to force a clinch, gets whacked in the ribcage before couple of uppercuts snap her head back. Heidi in wonderful shape, buries her foe on the ropes and bangs several hooks to the midsection, flicks some up high and Yuu just hangs on the ropes until the bell, looking completely overwhelmed by the local blonde!

Round 3:
Yuu remains glued to the ropes early, tries to catch some respite after difficult opening six minutes, yet Range has none of it. She keeps going after the Asian, lands more straight jabs to the body, but Yuu's desperate attempts find some success as she leaps all over the ring and forces a pause in blonde's menacing attacks. Heidi indeed stops in the middle of the ring, but stares at her rival all the time. Tejima breaths heavily already, she really was bullied around the ring and lost a lot of energy by just avoiding the blonde's charge. Crowd urges their girl to keep the aggression and Heidi anwers them in commanding fashion in the final minute. Yuu abandoned her running game and squared up to the blonde, but despite landing a solid hook on the ribcage, Heidi nailed her with a huge left to the jaw and send the Asian flying to the ropes with a loud groan! No mercy is shown moments later as Range leaps to the hapless Tejima, traps her on the ropes and bangs a jabbing sequence to the stomach, flicks a hook to the chest and another the the jaw, straight between the arms. Look out! TEJIMA SLIDES DOWN ON HER BACKSIDE as that shot to the chin really had some venom behind it! Crowd errupts in joy as Heidi shakes her glove in delight! Yuu's face is badly swollen already, but she shows a lot of determination, beats the count at seven and sidesteps away from a vicious follow up as Heidi perhaps got overexcited by the knockdown and was too chaotic in further execution. Yuu escapes back to center of the ring and the bell sounds moments later to save her from more misery.

Round 4:
Heidi storms out of her stool, still looking in top shape, but gets surprised with a similar charge from her rival as Yuu lashes out at her with some low jabbing and cracks a nice uppercut herself as Heidi is caught out and her head snaps back for the first time tonight. More hooks to the face from Tejima follow and the Asian girl who looked totally overwhelmed just minutes ago, goes all-in, bangs several vicious shots to the ribcage, flicks some to the chest and backs Range against the ropes where she seeks more success but the blonde clinches her and the ref is quick to save the local girl from trouble as he shoves the raging Yuu away. Heidi leaps forward, misses a straight jab to the face though and gets countered, big right hand on the nose and DOWN GOES RANGE FLAT ON HER BACK, literally smoked with that hook! Crowd goes silent and watches in despair as the blonde manages to get up at seven. She wipes her glove across her nose and yep, there's blood on display. Tejima has cut up the local favorite and how will Heidi respond to this offence? With Virginie Ledoyen in the waiting, the response is immediate! Heidi makes no mistake with another straight jab but Yuu comes forward as well. Both girls eat some serious leather with a ferocious punchfest along the ropes in the final minute and there's more blood but this time Range catches Tejima in the mouth and splits her lip. Hood style rather than anything else and they really go after each other, ref refuses to step in however the fatigue kicks in and both girls wear themselves out in the dying seconds and wait for the bell. Faces swollen on both sides, Heidi's nose and Yuu's lip spilling blood and during the interval the corner crews have a lot of work on their hands.

Round 5:
Heidi looks more upset of the two, obviously Yuu caught her off gaurd with that knockdown and she goes after the Asian rival immediately after the bell. Tejima steps up as well and it's more leather-trading in the middle of the ring; Yuu strikes to the head, but gets laced in the ribcage as the blonde ducked under her shots and send some low jabs on her own. Big left overhand catches Yuu in the mouth again and it's bad news for the brave Japanese, she swallows her own blood and pauses briefly, tries to jump back but Heidi's quicker! She bangs a right on the temple and DOWN GOES TEJIMA ON HER KNEES!!! Lightning-fast combo from the local girl reasserts her command and Tejima looks in some trouble. She beats the count at eight, but the lip wound is a major concern. Ref doesn't call for the doctor allthough Yuu signals him something. Fight on! Heidi keeps her focus, throws straight jabs to the face and Yuu's mind is clearly distracted. She gets her head snapped back with couple of shots, tries to cover up, but Heidi shatters her guard with a left hook, throws a cross right moments later and Tejima is rocked! She wobbles back and the blonde pummels her to the ropes with some low jabs. However she turns on the high shots quickly, dismantles Tejima's guard again and catches the aching Japanese with another left hook on the eye! Yuu's arms drop to the side and Heidi cracks a right uppercut on the chin and DOWN GOES TEJIMA ON HER KNEES one more time!! Blood spills from her wounded lip and she leans her head across the canvas. She can't beat the count!!! It's all over!!! KO R5 Heidi Range!!!

Post-fight:
Heidi can be really vicious at times and that spells a lot of trouble for her opponents as Yuu Tejima painfully found out tonight. However she can lose her focus and is vulnerable to some surprising defeats. Tejima nearly upset her in the fourth round and allthough Virginie Ledoyen will always be considered as a heavy favorite in the title fight, that one bad round should worry the entire Lioness Club. It's one thing to lose against someone of Ledoyen's experience, it's completely another to get humiliated in the ring with an early KO.

Heidi doesn't think much of the French champion right now though. She waves to the crowd sporting a massive smile; rubs her nose and gives 'thumbs up' signal before leaving the ring to a standing ovation! Tejima might have cut her up, but the response was impressive and the blonde singer kicks off the anniversary card in the best way possible!
