BEFORE: Both girls have starred in a rather low-budget flick "And Soon the Darkness" couple of years ago but apart from being a good enough reason to expose their bodies in skimpy outfits this movie hardly helped to launch their careers into real stardom. This changed somewhat when Amber Heard was called a "man-stealing nobody" by Johnny Depp's former partner Vanessa Paradis, a statement Odette Yustman is quick to refer to: "That's correct, Amber Heard is a nobody. And before anyone asks what I'm doing together with her in the ring, there's one very important reason. It's called Laura Vandervoort. Another nobody who thinks she's the next best thing at bantam after her woeful results at light. Laura keeps avoiding me, so I'm after her even at cost of losing few pounds. Heard is merely a dress rehearsal before my devilish plan to pounce on Laura gathers some steam. I should brush Amber aside as impressively as Laura's been doing with her rivals recently. Whatever she can do, I can do better!"

Amber Heard might have more in her than just being pretty enough for Johnny Depp though. After a troublesome stint with RiRy Boxing, she signed for Beever's Babes US and grinded out a good decision over the veteran Katie Holmes lately which indicates she's on her way to revive her career and beating Odette Yustman would be huge for her long term plans. The blonde Texan is also quick to point out her advantage over the dark-haired Lioness: "She has no experience at bantam. I don't think she will handle this bout physically. Sure, she can punch but she hasn't won a single fight this year at light, so it's obvious she's struggling. Going after Laura V.? That's just an excuse upon her terrible results recently. I've mauled Katie Holmes and I'll do likewise with Yustman. Just watch and see!"

Round 1:
Yustman composed at the start, confident of superiority over the former co-star, jabs well to the body from mid-range, prevents Heard from closing her down. Blonde Texan eager to make her mark though, works some high-tempo jabbing, skims off the arms and gloves, leaps around the taller opponent but can't ignite any venom just yet. Yustman keeps tracking her, moves slightly forward, throws single hand over the top as Heard's getting anxious; opens up with some wide slaps to the ribcage, catches the brunette's attention and whips some jabs between the arms, grazes the chest, leaps forward and tries to stun Odette with couple of uppercuts but crashes off the guard. Yustman misses an overhand counter, slow to react as Amber ducks low under her arm and whacks her in the guts, throws another uppercut and nails her on the jaw. Heard turns on the screw; bangs another series to the midsection, pushes the surprised rival back and Odette can't respond well, struggles to reach properly as Amber closed her down with a burst of speed and leaps back to the ropes as Heard piles with with wide hooks to the ribs, settles into her rhythm, has Yustman weaving on her feet until the bell as she lands more shots to the chest and Odette looks annoyed having been caught off guard late in the round.

Round 2:
Odette's reaction to the change of pace definitely left room for improvement and as Amber jumps after her straight off the bell, the brunette doesn't want to waste any time and responds in similar matter. Both girls quickly engage in a spirited trade-off in the middle of the ring, looking to stamp an authority over each other and they land solid blows to the chest and body, Odette isn't as strict in keeping her foe at distance anymore, just wants to bash her guts out and works the straight jabs, but Heard, despite getting laced repeatedly, keeps up with this high tempo, lands some shots to the midsection of her own, peppers the brunette's ribcage, but can't land anything solid on the head, skims off the gloves as Odette unloads some of that lightweight power late on, breaks the blonde's resiliance, goes around the gloves, nails her on the temple, splits her mitts briefly and whacks her on the nose and Heard is the first one to blink, begins ot retreat as Odette pummels her to the body and forces back, some footwork helping the blonde to avoid real trouble, but she's covering up inside the final seconds, sticks single striking from mid-range as Odette swings more menacing hooks around her head, but can't inflict more significant damage anymore either.

Round 3:
Yustman confident of her tactics now, walks after her rival and keeps the pressure, high-tempo jabbing seemingly too much for Heard to handle on the long run and Odette works the single striking over the top, has the blonde ducking for cover early but a quick shift follows. Perhaps the Holmes performance came to the fore in her mind and she leaps straight into Odette's path. Potentially a suicidal move but Yustman looks as surprised as anyone and once again is too slow to react. Amber ducks under couple of hooks, brunette skims off the arms and gets laced with a big left on the temple. Heard follows up, pours in with some ribcage shots, has Yustman circling for better position and missing her shots as Heard just doesn't stop hopping around her and throwing single jabs to the chest and body. Odette finds her mark quickly though, but can't break the Texan's guard, crashes off the arms repeatedly, is too slow to go around the gloves and Amber scores well with her jabs to the chest and body. Odette frustrated late on, allows the blonde to clean out her guts with a quick sequence and another left hook laces her on the temple just before the bell. Yustman ducks for cover, some mental flaws in her performance, nothing-to-lose attitude pays off for Heard who keeps peppering the suddenly cumbersome looking rival until the bell.

Round 4:
Back to solid striking from mid-range for Odette, closing down tactics didn't work that well in wake of Heard's better agility and speed. Blonde keeps her approach, but gets blocked with some early jabs, skims off the arms again and Yustman finally cracks down her guard with some jabs over the top and slightly better movement. Heard leaps around her though, ignores couple of big shots that nailed her on the cheeks, teases the brunette with arm dropping but a quick left on the mouth serves as wake-up call. Yustman with height and reach advantage keeps her on opponent on her toes with single jabbing from the left, fakes some low shots as Amber tries to close up again, gets laced with a big right on the eye, moans in a sudden does of pain and Odette bangs her from the left, nails the other eye and has Heard wobbling back and retreating in a hurry. Quick leap from the brunette who opens up and jabs to the ribs as Amber looks to step away even further. She avoids getting trapped along the ropes at first but Odette reaches her with the left hand striking, forces to weave around and that finally slows the blonde down. Sudden loss of her prime advantage costs Amber dear, she gets whacked between the arms late, is rooted to the spot as Odette works the longer reach to her favor, snaps her head back with some accurate jabs, shades of that fearsome lightweight strenght and Heard sinks on her knees, covers up but Yustman rocks her on her feet with more venom anyway and the blonde looks relieved at the bell as Odette struts back to her corner in much better frame of mind.

Round 5:
Heard's visibly upset over the previous round, leaps after her rival and tries to repeat the early shutout, laces the brunette under the elbows well but Odette keeps her honest with more straight jabs to the head. Amber barks in determination, eager to lay some leather into the brunette, lands several shots to the ribs but can't avoid getting nailed on the cheeks herself. Mind-over-matter performance from the Texan who leaps around the slower looking rival with lots of effort allthough lacking sheer power to hurt her badly and put away on the spot. Yustman with more shots over the top, keeps the pressure on but loses her precision now, misses some jabs, skims off the gloves and allows the blonde to score some of her own, mostly to the midsection as the speed and agility remain on Heard's side for most of the round. Odette's single striking finally prevails late on as Amber can't keep up the agile footwork all the way through, slows down in the final minute and endures more head-snapping before she can jump away as Yustman doesn't look as keen to chase her down anymore, uses the experience to wear the lively foe down instead.

Round 6:
Sudden burst of speed from Yustman who cashes in early with a quick leap and and series to the blonde's ribcage. Heard for once looked slow to react, obviously didn't expect the brunette to lash out at her this early, but experience counts big time and Odette whacks her to the chest, breaks the arms aside, bangs the blonde on the breasts, cuts off the air supply and cross-hooks her nose as Amber loses her footing, now in real danger of the lightweight power. Yustman single striking over the top, cleans out the blonde's cheeks with some cross-hooks, fakes a gutwrencher, whips a right hook on the temple and Heard winces in pain, wobbles back and looks to have escaped just in time but Odette's reach nails her on the nose with another right cross and HEARD CRASHES DOWN ON HER BACKSIDE just unable to withstand this onslaught. Yustman nods her head in approval as Amber pushes herself off both arms at six; her face covered in lumps, visible effect of Odette's ruthless punching in this round. But she's far from being done here and allthough the brunette is quick to pounce, Heard doesn't step back, counters to the midsection herself, looks to prove she's got what it takes to handle a slightly bigger girl and Yustman loses her efficiency following that knockdown, Amber's desire to slug it out comes as a surprise and Yustman can't unload her venom anymore, grazes the arms and gloves as Heard leans on her, keeps throwing shots to the liver area, catches the guard most of the time herself but prevents the brunette from opening up again and the high tempo does the trick; Odette looks annoyed misses couple of easy hooks, almost loses her balance as Amber pours in with couple of straights to the guts and tames the brunette's aggression for good albeit way too late to change back the scorecards.

Round 7:
Heard just won't let it go as she leans on her rival with more high-tempo jabbing but Odette regroups, keeps her focus but only just as the lively blonde would have gotten on everyone's mind with a stubborn display like that. Single strikes from mid-range keep Amber at distance before Odette unloads more venom to the ribcage, blonde's relentless approach backfires on her strenght quicker in this round than before, slows her down and allows Yustman to snap her head back with straight jabbing mostly from the right. Heard's guard remains in tact, enables her to avoid her some haymaker out of nowhere but Odette sticks to her plan, keeps peppering her target and breaks through on repeated basis as the time goes by. Amber's mindset as impressive as anyone, but she allows too many shots on the face, Odette leans on her flicks some shots around the gloves and cleans her out on the temple from both sides and Heard's feeling the heat now, sinks on her knees, tries to duck away into safety, gets rooted to the spot with more punches over the top but as Odette rocks her on her feet inside the final seconds, Amber just won't crumble down and survives a tough round breathing heaviy but upright and still deep in the brunette's mind.

Round 8:
Another forward burst from Yustman, repeat from couple rounds back. Heard saw that coming but she's much slower then she was in the sixth and allows Odette to land a vicious series to the ribcage as a quick uppercut follows and splits her mitts, landing clean on the jaw. Amber moans in pain and Odette thrives on it, looks to finish her off now with more jabs over the top, breaks the gloves apart bangs a cross-hooking double on the nose and Amber spins back to the ropes; Yustman all over her moments later, dishing out some leather to the ribs and chest, almost expecting the blonde to crumble down any second now but the moaning Texan hangs on against the odds, survives the barrage and Odette's fitness catches up to her as well, she drops the intensiy with every second, breaths heavily herself and settles into single striking to the body, almost looking for a clinch to catch some respite as Heard whacks her with a big right on the temple and cleans out her ribcage with some quick laces. Odette leans on her but gets nailed again on the rack and Amber just won't quite here as Yustman's really lost a great deal of energy in that failed attempt to finish this bout early. Heard with couple of wayward hooks on the temple, Odette suddenly looks dizzy and struggles for breath as Amber pummles her away from the ropes and punishes with single shots to the chest and body, hopes to swing this round back her way and Odette wanders about, can't avoid some late fightback from her foe, takes couple of quick uppercuts on the jaw just before the bell and both girls walk slowly back to their corners, battle of the minds reaches it's climax soon.

Round 9:
Both girls struggle for breath now, the one minute interval not long enough to cover up for the fitness flaws and Odette just hangs around the ropes, looks to nurse this one to the cards, confident of leading beacuse of that knockdown earlier. Heard refuses to accept defeat but doesn't rush it just yet; agrees to her opponent's tactics and the round sees little action, careful jabbing from both sides, safety first but neither blinks here and Odette knows it's a calm before the storm as the blonde will try to at least score one knockdown of her own to make up for the one she suffered before. Game on!

Round 10:
Heard charges out of her stool, hardly a spirited dash but Odette looks even slower herself and just prepares for what is served and it's all or nothing for Amber who peppers the brunette's ribcage early, flicks couple of shots to the head as Yustman covers up and looks to weather the storm. Heard winces in determination rather than pain, saves more energy than her rival and is able to take command of the speed and agility factor again as Odette hasn't recovered at all, just eats leather to the ribs, keeps her gloves in tact though and prevents the blonde from landing some venom to the head. Still, Amber peppers her ribs, seemingly poised to break them and the brunette begins to crumble! Heard pushes the aching Yustman back to the ropes, keeps punishing her ribcage, wants to pierce through the arms and bangs a series of uppercuts to the breasts. Odette hangs on, but gets nailed on the rack as the moaning blonde breaks through and really goes for her chance. Yustman dead on her legs, tries to clinch, gets whacked even more on the stomach and moans louder than her rival now and it's non-stop Heard, just ripping through the brunette's guts inside the final minute. Odette poised for another loss? She avoids a knockdown but she's done nothing as Heard leans on her and pins her against the ropes all the way through, scores as good as 10-8 round without a knockdown and leaves the brunette holding her tummy at the final bell, literally bend in half and one must check her ribs after this one, Heard was on a mission to break some bones there but just came up short. She turns away from the stranded brunette and looks up in the sky, before walking back to her corer. Only then she leans forward on the ropes and begins to embrace what happened in the ring tonight. Meanwhile Yustman slumps back on her stool in wake of that torrid beating she took in the final round, only gets up as the announcer is prepared to give the final call. Comes back 96-94 and UD10 Odette Yustman!!!

AFTER: Heard shakes her head in disgust, looks more upset rather than disappointed over the verdict and waves her fist in front of the judges before finally settling down in her corner. Yustman relieved, hardly enjoying this result though, gives a quick smile to the cameras and heads back to her corner as Amber raises up again and obtains the mic from the announcer: "Way to go Odette, you were a sitting duck at the end. No one and I mean no one will be impressed by this crap you've shown here tonight. Face it, girl, this might be your last victory for a long while and most certainly this year!" Odette turns around and gives the bragging blonde a proper death stare before going back and taking over the mic herself: "This was my first fight at bantam and I admit it, that wasn't as easy as I expected and but I've still cleaned you out! Every blonde bimbo can talk the talk but they never deliver the results. Once I get familiar with the few lost pounds, I'll be leaving all my bantam rivals cold at my feet, Laura V. included. Like I've said, this was just a rehearsal, I've got much bigger plans for the future than just to own your skinny ass, Amber! Get lost!" Heard tries to reach for the mic again, but the security crew is on hand and there's some pushing and shoving in the middle of the ring as both girls continue to abuse each other before they finally get separated and Heard is truly livid as she throws away her gloves to the crowd without even looking at them; Odette tries to keep it together and waves to the audience as she leaves the arena in the opposite direction and it's good to know they don't share a locker room together as things might have gotten really ugly long after the verdict had been announced.
