Why is Orlaith taking on former BBU lightweight champion Rochelle so close to her final eliminator showdown with Helena Mattson? Surely she can’t think that the singer’s going to roll over for her? As for Rochelle – she’s not been too active lately, and maybe could have selected an easier opponent.

Here are the girls, with blonde Orlaith in a green bikini, and she looks great, but maybe Rochelle looks better, the dusky singer absolutely stunning in a baby blue tankini.

Round 1

The event looks like it’s got the better of Orlaith, and she starts off as though paralyzed, and allowing Rochelle to get after her straight away. Rochelle needs no second invitation, and she’s right there in Orlaith’s face, but Wiseman simplyis not punching well – her timing seems right off. Orlaith’s got away with her poor start, and gradually she seems to be emerging, and now she’s blitzing Rochelle, making the singer cover up and drop back towards her own corner. This is good control from Orlaith, and she’s scoring points and getting off to a good start, dominating Rochelle through the final stages of the round..

Round 2

The girls have settled down, and that’s agood right hand from Rochelle, but Orlaith takes it, and gives Wiseman one back, and a left! Rochelle’s hurt, but as Orlaith comes in, she gives her a good right to the ribcage, and a left to the jaw, and the girls are now trading punches at a fine good pace. Now they hold, with Rochelle having taken a good left hook, and she’s content to lean on Orlaith a little, gets a mouth full of leather after the pair are broken, then gives the model a neat couple of jabs This is good, crowd-pleasing stuff, but no real winner at the end of this round.

Round 3

Orlaith starts the round looking the stronger girl, and she’s connecting at Rochelle’s body and chin with some good combinations, pushing the singer back, trying to prise her defence open, looking for an opening. But Rochelle answers well, putting pressure on Orlaith and giving back what she receives – there’s nothing between this pair as the swap punches in the centre of the ring, both girls having to give a little ground under attack, then coming back at the other. In the closing seconds both girls are on fire, trading punches like crazy, and each of them gets their heads jolted backwards, then whipped sideways, plenty of spit and snot flying from mouths and noses at the end of another even round. Crowd happy – that’s great.

Round 4

Well, the girls couldn’t keep that pace up, and it seems that almost by agreement they’re taking some time out now, trying to remember how to box. Rochelle is the better boxer, and she’s using good footwork her to demonstrate that, but she still gets caught when she moves in with her jabs. Good work from Wiseman has the model backing off now, but once her back hits the rope Orlaith bursts into action, and she gives the singer a few nice punches to the face. The closing stages sees the girls return to toe-to-toe action – big right hands connect similarly in turn, and again the girls take the best shots the other can offer, and the round is even again!

Round 5

From the bell, Wiseman is finally deciding to dance a little more, trying something from the distance, and she’s outboxing the blonde again now, making her look a second class citizen. Orlaith seems surprised by this change of tactic by the singer, and she tries to punch her way out, lands a reasonable right hook on Rochelle but gets caught by a thunderous hook – and she goes down! McAlister takes an 8 count, and now she’s trying to regroup, but Rochelle is clearly on top now, and her hand and legspeed combined are giving the model a lesson. Rochelle lands another good right hand, and again Orlaith’s knees buckle, but the blonde clinches, having to concede that she’s been well beaten in this round.

Round 6

From the opening seconds of the round, Wiseman keeps pouring in on the model, whipping some good shots into her body, and trying to open up her face for punishment. Orlaith has to cover, but she doesn’t stay back for long, and she finally goes the counter attack, slamming some good punches into the singer’s body and head, with left and right hooks. Wiseman’s hit hard, she staggers but doesn’t go down – McAlister chases her, controls her, but then she is the one hit harder. Rochelle is still on top, and now she’s again got Orlaith with her back at the ropes, with Rochelle punching her tummy, and the model groaning a little as those punches find their mark. The bell ends a close round but Wiseman seems to have the edge.

Round 7

McAlister know that she needs to move to get even, and she clearly does it! This is a great start to the round from the blonde, who’s clearly got a second wind here in the late stages of the fight, smashing a few great right hands into the singer’s face, and now there’s blood spraying with the spit and snot! Orlaith is dominating Rochelle in this round, hitting her repeatedly around the head, and, when Rochelle covers up with her gloves, Orlaith’s got the energy left to give her a battering to the body, getting revenge for what she took in the previous round, and she’s controlling the brunette, working her around the ring, and trapping her at the ropes, where she gives her a few banging punches with either hand, taking their toll on Wiseman. Rochelle’s legs finally give up – she’s down on her butt after taking a hard right hand, stays down for a while, up at 7, looking dazed, and walks into a booming right that almost puts her straight back again, but the bell saves her.

Round 8

Rochelle’s still dazed, but she’s not done yet, and she’s able to stay clear of Orlaith when they resume, her leading jab landing in the model’s face, stopping her from getting inside if she can. But although she’s fighting well, she can’t keep the tough blonde away for ever, and she gets tagged hard again with that right hand, and again her knees are buckling. Orlaith can’t stop Rochelle from clinging to her though, and it’s hard work for her to keep pushing the singer back, although the cut she’s opened in Rochelle’s left eyebrow will give her encouragement, something to work on in the closing seconds, which she dominates, ensuring a close round goes to Orlaith.

Round 9

McAlister’s out quickly this time, and her right hand is slamming into Rochelle’s face now as the singer backs away, looking shabby, and with her footwork nicely in place, Orlaith’s giving Rochelle even more problems. Good work from the model has Rochelle dropping back to the ropes, where she gets it all wrong, tries to punch her way out of trouble, and the blonde cant’t believe her luck as she takes the chance to find Rochelle’s chin again, sending her down for the second time in the fight. Rochelle’s up quickly at 5, but she’s unable to hit back hard. Still, Rochelle puts pressure and McAlister has to clinch to stop her attacks. McAlister forced at the ropes for the last minute, but the model wins the round nevertheless, and she’s taking this now.

Round 10

Into the final round, and it looks very much as though Orlaith is shot! Wiseman’s trying to take advantage of it, but she’s unable to do much in the opening exchanges, with the blonde covering herself up, then she manages to trap Orlaith and will be looking to put the girl away after all. McAlister’s at the ropes, just clinching or protecting herself, whilst Rochelle’s pouring punches in on her, trying to get the knockout she knows she needs to win. Orlaith’s sobbing, but she manages to stay on her feet and to end the fight.

Despite the one-sided beating in the last round, Orlaith manages to get a victory by UD10.

Well that was always going to be a hard fight, and another one that must surely deserve a rematch –allthough neither girl will want to take that many punches again in a hurry!
