Couple of blonde bantams from Australia get the "Rookie Sessions" started as both Nicky Whelan and Teresa Palmer make their BBU debuts tonight. Whelan suffered a horrendous defeat against Emily Scott on ACB PPV back in January where Scott broke her jaw in less than two rounds but is healed up and very much ready to make amends for that tremendous loss. However her opponent comes from the fearsome Lookout! Atlantic stable who always sign girls destined for success. Teresa Palmer might be the next best thing in BBU and every great fighter needs to start her career someday and Palmer's start is indeed against fellow blonde from Down Under. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.

Round 1:
Nicky tries to get an early advantage over the new girl and jabs to her midsection, crashes off the low guard at first but nails Palmer on the mouth with a quick shift. Teresa throws some straight jabs in response but only grazes Nicky's flesh and soon gets tagged again; her head snapping back under the older girl's leather. Teresa must jump back in avoidance as Nicky keeps pressuring her with more jabs to the head and body. Palmer struggles to handle the early onslaught and weaves around the ropes until the bell as Nicky shows lots of aggression, visibly keen to teach the new girl a vicious lesson.

Round 2:
Palmer comes forward, a fresh start for the younger blonde; she blocks couple of early jabs from Whelan, flicks an overhand right herself, catches the fellow Aussie on the eye and gutwrenches her moments later as Nicky bends forward surprised by this combo. She soon experiences more trouble as Palmer bashes her from both flanks, goes around the gloves, pepper's the older girl's ribcage and finds more success with straight jabbing between the arms. Nicky covers up but is forced to jump back albeit Palmer is right after her, throws a wayward hook however tags the briefly slow moving foe on the nose with a solid left moments later. She closes the distance again as Nicky's footwork lets her down, throws more low jabs and bangs another left on the temple just before the bell. Great comeback from Palmer who shows the older blonde she can punch as well.

Round 3:
Whelan's annoyed by the previous round, she storms out of her stool but can't find a way through Teresa's guard and gets nailed under the elbows in response. Palmer unloads some heavy leather; dwarfs her foe's agility and footwork skills, scores an unanswered series to the stomach forcing Nicky to moan in mix of pain and anger. Palmer thrives on this expression and drills the cumbersome blonde on the head, Whelan's guard stays in tact but she wobbles under the barrage and looks to clinch rather than step away. Tactical mistake by Nicky as Terry splits her mitts with a solid cross-hook and bangs a straight jab moments later catching her on the nose clean... DOWN GOES WHELAN FLAT ON HER BACK.. Lookout! girl with a fine knockdown execution, just overwhelmed her Aussie foe in straight-forward exchange as Nicky manages to scramble back to her feet at six. Her face is quite reddened with exhaustion and effects of Palmer's leather and the younger blonde shows no mercy, pours in with more jabs to the head forcing Nicky to cover up until the bell and just weather the storm. However she's getting pummelled around the ring now, struggles to handle Terry's sheer power and walks very slowly to her stool having barely survived a very tough round.

Round 4:
Nicky slow off her stool, looks to bide some time along the ropes, but Teresa doesn't allow her to catch a breather whatsoever. She's fully aware of the fact she's cracked the older girl's confidence and exposed her physical shape as well. She quickly closes Whelan down, fakes couple of hooks to the head, drops low, bends Nicky in half with double hooking combo, aims an uppercut to the chin, catches the gloves at first but goes for a follow-up and this time pierces the mitts, nails the aching opponent on the jaw clean... NICKY GOES DOWN ON HER KNEES!!! Wonderful uppercut just thumped the older blonde to the ground and she really struggles to beat the count this time, raises herself at nine, but her eyes are misty and she probably knows she's not going far from here. Ref allows her to continue though, somewhat a mystery but Palmer is quick to pounce, throwing a straight jabbing combo after the command. Whelan tries to leap away from danger, stumbles over her own feet though and allows Palmer to nail her on the temple and nose in quick succession as her guard's gone AWOL. Loud moans from the older blonde and Terry goes for more! She gutwrenches her aching foe, bends her in half, peppers the liver area before unloading another uppercut between the arms, completely exposing Nicky's woeful defensive skills... DOWN GOES WHELAN FLAT ON HER BACK and this time she's had enough. She blubbers in agony of defeat as the ref mercilessly - or perhaps mercifully - counts her out!!! KO R4 Teresa Palmer!!!

Post-fight:
Wonderful display from the new Lookout! Atlantic girl. She struggled to find her rhythm in the opening round but once she did afterwards, Nicky Whelan simply got wrecked. The older Aussie blonde can throw a mean punch or two but her defence proved woeful and got badly exposed by Palmer tonight. The fact Emily Scott broke her jaw before doesn't come as a huge surprise anyome.

Teresa's future under LAB banner looks promising but she'll need to test her skills against someone of superior strenght and abilities to Whelan to find out whether she's good enough to make a real headway among her own stable and BBU bantamweights in general.

Final result: Teresa Palmer def. Nicky Whelan KO4.
