Emily VanCamp (Revenge) versus Ashley Madekwe (Revenge)

Just like the previous contest involving fighters from Once Upon A Time, ABC has put together a small video package to hype up this particular match between their other newest hit show – Revenge. This video package is quite adept at showcasing some of their best backstabbing moments and snarky exchanges from the first season, all the better to highlight the upcoming season which will start tomorrow. Ashley and Emily do come out together in an attempt to display cast solidarity, but it's obvious to all that these two do not get along. Madekwe declares with barely restrained outrage “Emily's a good boxer, but I've sparred with her a million times now and I know her like a book. It's a snooty, b*tchy, annoying-as-hell book, but it's a book I know. I'm going to beat the hell out of her tonight and then we'll see whether she still carries herself like a queen on set.” Emily just smirks upon hearing Madekwe's comments, “Listen, if there's a book worth looking at, it's a book filled with things Ashie doesn't know. But, in this case, what she doesn't know will hurt her and that's exactly what I'm going to do to her. I'm going to hurt Ashley, who thinks she's so exotic and special, then make her understand that it's MY set. I'll beat that lesson into her!” Clearly no love lost between these two at all.

This match also attracting a lot of interest from the audience outside, especially members of the CW as well as Shay Mitchell and Troi Bellisario, who have recovered from their match and are seated – at the request of security – on the other side of the ring from the CW stars. Emily VanCamp has certainly made no friends among the stars of the CW network, just looking over at them coolly and dismissively as that section of the crowd is a very pro-Madekwe group – eager to see Madekwe win. Emily informs them pointedly before the match, “You're all going to be disappointed.” and then turning back to face her opponent, resuming ignoring them once again.

Both of them exchanging a cool stare across the ring – something they have done on set many, many times.

R1: Both leggy fighters come out, but it's Emily who pours of the gate immediately. Sending in rangy right and left hooks that batter Madekwe across the face. Ashley's legs give a shimmy, but she manages to stay up, wobbly-butt as she retreats towards the ropes with Emily in hot pursuit. Emily keeps hammering away, just pounding away to just lather away at Madewke's head, shoulder's and arms. Ashley bouncing back towards the ropes, buffetted around as if in a tropical storm as Emily keeps hammering away, going jug late in the round, punishing Ashley's rack and then finishing off at the bell by just licking away at her ribs with stiff hard shots. Ashley almost stopped, seeming paralyzed as Emily sends a hard right jab to her face as the ref is forced to intervene, pulling VanCamp off of her opponent after the bell. Emily makes a statement early, shutting her opponent out as Ashley is disorganized and frazzled, staggering towards the wrong corner at the bell as Emily smiles confidently.

R2: Ashley recovers her senses in between rounds, but not her rhythm. Emily just stalks Ashley patiently as every time Madekwe comes forward, Em works her jab methodically to pick her apart. Every shot Madekwe fires forward, Em has an answer for it, coming off of the guard to keep slamming in rights and left hooks that force Ashley to cover up. When Ashley covers up high, Emily then switches her focus down to just ring up her torso and tummy, then buffetts her about her face and shoulders to force Ashley to cover up at her temples. Wearing Ashley down steadily through the round, ending the round again just pounding away at Ashley as she is slumped into the ropes. Emily doesn't have to be pulled off this time, she storms off as she allows Madekwe to stumble into her corner. Emily heads to her corner, right near Troian and Shay, looking down at them as if to say “Told you so.”

R3: Ashley has been clearly outclassed the first two rounds and comes out determined to turn it around. Emily charges forward out of her corner, just swinging from her hips to batter away at Madekwe's tummy once more, her midsection sore from the attention. Ashley keeps jabbing away, poking with her gloves to keep Emily backwards as Emily keeps coming forward, but only to keep being denied by the jab by Madekwe. Emily pounces forward to try to punch over the jab and then Ashley suddenly snaps up a sudden right cross that snaps into Emily's cheek. Emily's head whips to the side, completely walking into it, completely caught off guard as Ashley sees VanCamp's dazed expression and noticing the sudden shimmy in her legs. Madekwe's gaze hardens and now it's her turn to pounce forward, delivering another hard right cross that sends Emily nosediving to the canvas, spilling sideways. Sprawling to the mats, the crowd is suddenly on their feet in shock, especially the CW fighters as Emily tries to push herself up onto all fours. Shaking her head, trying to clear it, her body shudders and head spinning, she collapses to the mats again parallel to the ropes. Emily VanCamp is down and can't get up!! The referee counts to 10 – several crowd members counting with him and then in shocking fashion, the match is awarded to Ashley Madeke via KO3!!

After: Emily recovers just a few moments after the verdict is announced, pulling herself up against the ropes as she doesn't appear to realize what has occurred just yet. But, hearing the roaring crowd and looking over at the smug face of Ashley, who is licking her lips in confidence, it doesn't take Emily long to put it all together. Emily's usually calm veneer is replaced by one of sheer shock and rage – visibly freaking out. Ashley says coolly, “Guess it's not your set anymore, is it, Em?” Emily nearly screams, barely able to hold it in as she immediately gets into Madekwe's face, charging across the ring. Ashley is smirking and Emily is wide-eyed, trembling with anger as the two of them are shoving and pushing at one another. The referee tries to make himself heard, but to no avail as Madekwe is taunting Emily VanCamp, who is angrily demanding a rematch. This result MUST be answered – Revenge is HER show and that's HER set! Emily could barely comprehend it, but right now, she and Ashley were still pushing at each other and then as the two of them are tangled up in their argument, they go tumbling between the ropes and spilling down to the ground below with a thud.

The instant that happens, the security personnel are sprinting down the aisles to break up what is sure to descend into chaos. But, it's too late and they are impeded by a crowd who is eager to see a full-scale brawl. ABC executives scramble to respond and having learned their lesson from the FCBA – in goes the Swan Lake tape. And not a moment too soon.
