BBU: LIONESS CLUB YEAR ONE ANNIVERSARY PPV PART III

(LIONESS CLUB VS GINNY'S ACADEMY)

The first guest appearance of the Ginny's Academy features the young American upstart, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Olsen going up against Charlotte Church. The Welsh blonde endured a horrible time during her brief FCBA career, losing all five bouts but believes Olsen is a perfect opponent to claim some Yankee scalp before her she gets totally forgotten on the other side of the pond. Olsen is young but very aggressive, destined for future stardom in the elite class and could give Charlotte a real handful tonight before her more experienced stablemate Catherine Bell clashes with Alex Curran in the main event later. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.

Round 1:
Olsen lively across the canvas at the start, perhaps foreseeing Charlotte's early attack on home turf, she ducks and weaves around the Welsh blonde's hooks and straight jabs to the body herself, smacks the arms on repeated basis but prevents Church from landing anything significant either. Charlotte keeps swinging around Olsen's head but fails to connect and soon the American opens up herself, peppers the midsection and make use of her speed and agility, hops around her rival and single strikes to the ribs as a slow looking Church is pushed back to the ropes but escapes further damage thanks to some chaotic leaps to the side.

Round 2:
More fruitless jabs from Church who just can't reach the younger blonde as Olsen bides her time somewhat, allows Charlotte to wear herself out in the opening minute before lacing her on the cheeks with a double jabbing combo. Lizzie tries to pierce the guard further but Church blocks those efforts and forces a clinch as the American stepped up to her but missed a hook on the temple. Church shoves the younger blonde around, ref separates them eventually but Olsen strays away afterwards, makes the Welsh girl look chaotic and sluggish in another aggressive approach as Church is really struggling for efficiency despite a lot of effort. Lizzie's speed and agility finds no match and she smiles back at her rival as they walk back to their corners well aware of Charlotte's lacklustre peformance and the fact she hasn't kicked into high gear herself yet.

Round 3:
Church desperate to make an impression but crashes off the arms with her low jabbing and gets tagged on the nose by Elizabeth's response. More jabs to the chest follow and Church is pushed back as Olsen holds her ground and just waves her glove at her. Teasing stuff from the upstart but Charlotte keeps her focus, doesn't lose her temper yet and ducks around her rival al Olsen drops her smile and throws single hooks to the body, realizing the Welsh girl won't rush any suicidal mission here. Church weaves around those shots, shows little aggression and that finally forces Olsen to go after her with more intent. However Charlotte blocks off a number of high hooks and manages to clinch the American in the final seconds as Lizzie looks more annoyed of the two at the bell, perhaps now she'll show some of that FCBA potential as Church was dismal so far but Olsen rather anonymous as well.

Round 4:
Indeed the American doesn't look as happy and flamboyant anymore as she unloads some jabs to the ribcage. Charlotte covers up for most of them but some catch her around the elbows as Olsen throws a quick uppercut to the nose and snaps Church's head back. She covers up again but some low jabs follow and Charlotte just absorbs this punishment as she struggles to handle the high work-rate. Olsen visibly quicker in execution, pushes her back to the ropes but opens up too much and allows the Welsh blonde to duck underneath a wild hook and escape back to the center of the ring. Lizzie's really mad now though, she keeps the aggressive approach, closes her foe down again and punches to the body, has Charlotte leaping all around the ring in avoidance as she struggles to match the younger blonde's agility. Olsen lands several shots to the chest and body but lacks venom neccessary to put her rival down and settles into grinding out a round on points where she kept the Welsh girl on the backfoot all the way through.

Round 5:
Olsen with more comfort; jabs in mid-range, laces the Welsh blonde's ribs as Charlotte skims off the guard with her efforts but exposes her tummy and a flurry of shots from Lizzie push her back. Olsen goes for some high hooks but the Welsh girl ducks aside and counters from the flank, nails the American between the arms, rocks her jugs but the blonde upstart has none of it! She bangs a quick right on the temple, bends Charlotte in half with a jabbing sequence to the guts, whacks her on the chin with a precise uppercut and Church wobbles badly on her feet, struggles to handle this close-range punchfest, allows Elizabeth to land more jabs from the top and gets pushed back to the ropes where Olsen unloads vicious leather to the ribcage and sinks the moaning Welsh blonde on her knees! Lizzie's really keen to stamp her authority on the aching opponent, bashes to the body but lacks that killer instinct and just can't send Charlotte down, settles for a clinch late on as the Welsh girl took a nasty battering in the fifth but somehow survived in one piece until the bell.

Round 6:
Church's still capable of throwing some leather despite a rough period, but Olsen really wears her out with determined approach and one must wonder how long the local blonde can dodge the bullet? She smacks the American with couple of hooks but Olsen just ignores them, pours forward with her efforts, clubs her with a big right hand on the temple and Charlotte's guard was badly exposed there. Lizzie works the single jabbing to the nose, snaps the older blonde's head back, shifts low and peppers the stomach as the intensity of the American onslaught just keeps stacking up to the Lioness Club's faithful dismay. Olsen nails the aching rival between the arms, Church wobbles on her feet, can't stop moaning in pain as the American shows no signs of letting go; whacks more low jabs around the elbows, bangs an uppercut to the chin, splits the mitts and slams the older blonde with a cross-hook on the nose... DOWN GOES CHURCH SLIDING ON HER BACKSIDE, finally crumbling under a relentless barrage from the American upstart. Lizzie with a determined look in her eyes as Charlotte tries to get up and with help of the ropes beats the count at seven. However Olsen gives her no respite whatsoever and unloads a double hooking combo to the head which shatters the guard and leaves exposed to a simple put away to the nose. Charlotte wobbles on her feet, falls back on the ropes as Olsen romps over her midsection, switches high and throws a flurry of punches to the head, now firmly trying to knock her out on the spot. Church just sinks on her knees in wake of a tremendous beating and Olsen nails her on the belly button in the middle of her rage which sends the totally wrecked WELSH GIRL CRASHING DOWN ON HER KNEES and sobbing in pain. She leans her head across the canvas and shows no intentions of beating the count this time as the American blonde really punched her into submission with that series. Charlotte raises her head, but the eyes are full of tears and she slumps back on the floor just giving up her challenge. KO R6 Elizabeth Olsen!!!

Post-fight:
Methodical display from the American youngster who showed several faces in the ring tonight, from a passive opening through a spirited charge but lacking the big power to a thoroughly dominant ending where she just battered her Welsh opponent into submission. She keeps a strictly business approach after the fight, ignores her fallen rival and nods her head back and forth, seemingly never doubting her victory despite a slow start. Charlotte Church tries to slug it out as long as she could but failed to prevent Olsen from landing some heavy leather on repeated basis and the added value of those shots just broke down her resilience.

Olsen is young but obviously very talented, she made Church look like a sparring punchbag for most of the fight and once she gains some strenght she'll be a real handful in the FCBA bantamweight. Meanwhile the Welsh girl continues to underperform somewhat and can't mount a winning streak when it really matters. Beating a hotshot like Olsen would have been great for her career, but she just got send back to the minor league and her quest for BBU bantamweight title started by a huge win over Alesha Dixon looks as bleak as when Miranda Kerr smashed her to bits few months ago.
