BEFORE: "I like my chances," redoubtable veteran Tiff says of young Margot, "Very punchable tummy; showed some quit in the Mumford fight; still green as grass and not too bright to boot...I'll work my magic on this girl, you'll see."

Margot used to tuff-talking American podium assaults by now - she's laser-focussed on performance. "Tiffany's a tuff girl," Robbie acknowledges, "I've been watching tape of her vs Britney and it's a corker - a really rugged, hard-working performance for Thiessen. I'd like to think my core stands against any woman's in the division, so I'm happy to let her try my body. If that's her plan, I feel it makes my job a lot easier!"

During R1: Girls punching right/lefts midring - jugs a-sloshing side to side; teeth bared; eyes furious and DOWN GOES ROBBIE! Sudden crash of hook-on-jaw puts blonde girl on her back...Tiff all grinning - she makes the "title belt" gesture at her waist before bouncing off to neutral corner. Robbie rocked, but rallying...rest of the way is solid, dependable Margot as Tiffany covers up peek-a-boo, letting blonde girl beat flanks/arms, then tying Robbie up for breaks. 10-8 Tiffany - veteran shocking, then managing her ingenue for big points.

R2: Robbie advancing early, bouncing mitts off Tiff, driving brunette back. Midway through, girls get into that side to side free-swinging rhythm again...Tiff kissing rights and lefts off Margot's chin and BLONDE GIRL'S IN TROUBLE! Robbie sputtering out of orbit, thighs trembling as she steps around...Tiff positions off blonde left hip - hooks Robbie's gut; chops an overhand right short to left ear and ROBBIE'S DOWN! Margot clubbed to all fours, looking shabby...Tiffany prancing past, BEAMING with pride at the destruction. Final minute all Tiffany cleaning up on demoralized blonde-girl: Robbie with dukes at temples, back-on-ropes as Tiff stalks, belts away big to hips/flanks to bell.

R3: Tiffany wading into Margot - swinging right hands crashing off chin; left hooks tugging at tummy and jug in close. Margot backing up under heavy fire, but answering: she's straightening out a stubby right hand to chin; trying to find a way to hook-with Tiff. Midway minute, Margot gets some answers...trade in hooks-off-the-hip goes her way, PUTTING TIFFANY DOWN! Thiessen's turn to look up from her back, blinking and jittery in shock. Margot seething, sporting furious pout...soon as Tiff's had her 8, blonde-girl comes a-callin'. Robbie: squared up strong on Tiff - shoulders hunched, hands at chest in ready position...blonde twisting herself side to side, thumping mitts off belly and breasts, pushing Tiffany into ropes to deny clinches. Thiessen battered - back of right hand at left cheek; left across her gut...she's tempest-tossed, shoved and slugged at ropes as Margot pours it on. Tiff destitute, unable to function...she wobbles down to left knee, giving up the knockdown to prevent what looked like a stoppage-in-progress from an anxious ref.

R4: Both girls hurt, wary now...caution takes the place of free-swinging mayhem. Tiffany crouching - right hand at her chin - left hand pawing jabs as she steps close, buries the right in Margot's paunch, then ties up. Robbie eyes-narrowed, showing a similar look...she's trying to hook Tiffany on the way in, clouting jug or chin before the clinch. Thiessen brawny in the scrums, working hard to walk Robbie around; holding-and-hitting in the grasp; throwing that left shoulder into Margot's mouth or tits. Scrappy rough-house enough to keep blonde on her heels: brunette imposing bully's will through 4.

R5: Same again - girls settling into grinding, close-contact attrition - each using the left shoulder to bully her opponent's tits in hopes of freeing up punching room underneath. Both girls pounding an effective right hand to offending leftside hip or flank; both hooking tummy short and brawny, but it's Tiff with the clever tactical clinches - walking Robbie off balance, dictating tempo. Pushing Margot to ropes, Tiff will cross her arms to brace Robbie's jugs, then drive into her with legs thrusting...Robbie grunting, wrapping her arms around Tiffany's shoulders, but suffering until ref's breaks as Thiessen compresses blonde girl to ropes.

R6: Brutal inside fighting continues, with Margot making a few key adjustments. 1.) She's keeping her back off the ropes - not letting Tiff be the bully. 2.) She's rough with her head, leaning forward while keeping butt-back. 3.) Her hands paw at Tiff's arms, denying clinches and pulling apart defences, allowing Robbie to work methodically against belly and breasts. Tiff grumpy, forced to work in a suffocating, close-in, no-clinching environment...she digs and pumps at Margot in trade, but it's Robbie who's pushing forward now.

R7: Margot closing, constantly pushing with head or shoulder on her foe, bumping, then slugging. Tiff looking grouchy, sullen, cringing now as her gut is hooked, showing crossed arm inside with right hand at left cheek/left across her gut. Margot starting to pound away - big, healthy rights and lefts spanking across Tiffany's front, smashing at her arms, clubbing her temples. Midway through, tidy little right uppercut picks up Tiff to chin...she falters for a moment, then drops down, looking forlorn on haunches-and-hands. Thiessen bravely up, but showing her age...Robbie able to body up, walk Tuff-Tiff to ropes, push her into compliance, then hammer away to glory. Tiffany sputtering, now just stacked up and battered...blonde fists smashing at defences, beating past arms to get at jug, or bashing away on skull. It's all too much...blonde girl's curvy body tense, backside all a-quiver with finishing vigor...Tiffany tilts forward, then succumbs, sprawling face-down, fast asleep at Margot's feet. KO7 in bludgeoning fashion, Margot Robbie.

After: Robbie all bright eyes and clapping hands in postfight - she comes off the canvas to devastate a well regarded curvy slugger tonight. "Not the way we wanted to start," Margot quips in postfight, pronouncing it "staht" with her Aussie drawl. "Obviously, she hurt me - I'm not going to lie about that - but there's hurting and there's finishing, and Tiffany couldn't get it done. Then it was a matter of getting back into the fight, and THAT was tough - Tiffany doesn't give up easy ground - she fights for every inch, so it was a real struggle. Very happy to have used her up...you love to see a girl who's hurt you, lying on her face at the end!"

Not everyone delighted by Robbie's triumph...Eloise Mumford tweets: "Flukey win for Margot"; Neve caught on camera pursing her lips, looking non-plussed...Margot starting to make an impression on her peers with solid, hard-punching performances.
