BEFORE: "Paula Patton's dangerous," Amanda admits in prefight. "She's like a Katrina Law with power - and I've actually been working pretty closely with Kat this time to get Paula's timing down, but the fact is - Patton's going to have her moments. She's too physical to shut out every round: she's going to ring my bell a time or two, and I just have to be able to power through it."

Patton upbeat, confident...a woman on a mission. "We always knew that the second fight with Righetti would be the real challenge," Patton admits. "Great fighters get shocked all the time, but they firm-up well. They come back strong. They feel your boot at their throat and they won't have it. But that's what I'm determined to do: put my foot down on Amanda Righetti and start conditioning her to accept my supremacy. Nothing lasts forever. Nothing. Amanda's had a good run; she's been showered with accolades; she's owned all the awards; she's built her reputation like a palace at welterweight. It's up to me to bring that palace down brick by brick, take from Amanda, and build something new!"

During R1: Razor-sharp Amanda early: stiff, pounding jabs; crisp clockwise pivots; short, pulverizing right hands whenever Patton gets close. Paula mounting Bjorlin-like rushes - bobbing in, swinging hard for chin...she's pre-empted, deflected, and sidestepped by Amanda through 2 minutes. Down the stretch, paydirt for Patton as relentless aggression finally pays off...Paula's looping right lands over Amanda's left jab, jolting chin...Righetti stepping in fence post holes, covering up hurt. Patton able to rip the body left/right; hook Amanda's right armpit; bludgeon her a clubbing right to left ear...Righetti sputtering on the spot, coughs up the points to determined, opportunistic slugging late.

R2: Righetti unfazed...right back to the upright stance, stiff jabs, shocking short right hands and clockwise pivots. Patton attempting to break down Amanda's disciplined front with sheer aggression - pouring up the middle only to be pre-empted, rejected, then sidestepped. Amanda's eyes narrowed, lips tight as she executes...heavy-shelling from outside shuts Paula out through 2.

R3: Punishing jab of Righetti prompts changes in Patton's approach...Paula now stepping-with, jabbing-with, trying to negotiate distance. Both women force-feeding left hands to offending breasts and faces with some success, but Amanda's also getting a short, blunt, slamming right to chin, really punctuating the exchanges. By round's end, Amanda's out-hitting Paula, then walking her down...Patton's face already showing signs of wear through 3.

R4: Amanda systematic, disciplined, working her fight plan. POUNDING jabs slam against Paula's pate, face and shoulders; short, drifting right hands keep Patton from penetrating; strong two-handed pushes in Paula's shoulders start to get her backpedaling. Patton frustrated, lumping up...she crosses arms and bobs on the spot, trying to weave her way close, but Amanda's tracking her well, putting punches on target. Midway through, Patton adopts earmuff - tries to bob inside, only to eat a well-prepared short left uppercut clean to chin, putting her wobbly-butt. No frenzied cleaning-flurry from Amanda - she maintains distance and rhythm, pounding away on frazzled Paula for a bruising shutout fourth. Bell: Steely eye-contact forced upon Patton by Righetti...Amanda always the consummate professional, but showing competitive fire regardless.

R5: Amanda's been primarily jab/right hand in approach...now she mixes in the hook on top. Patton discouraged - rarely penetrating...she's outside in crossed-arm - back of right hand against left cheek/left hand tucked into right armpit, bobbing on the spot as Amanda's fists bounce off Paula's surfaces. Righetti really dialed in - working behind a well-established jab; dropping heavy, short right hands; turning tight hooks across Paula's pate, or dipping left shoulder to hook Paula behind right elbow. Add to that the sidestepping, clockwork pivots turning Patton midring. Add to that the healthy shoves in Patton's shoulders, backing her up. No one punch devastating Paula, but the sheer comprehensive work body and head has Patton wobbly-butt, glassy-eyed at bell. Amanda stomping back to her corner all-business, eyes blazing in an otherwise calm face.

R6: Patton not quitting, but visibly slowing...Amanda's turning this fight into a bit of a meat-grinder for Paula. Patton stubbornly weaving her way up the middle, desperate to trade at close range...Amanda denying these terms while thumping away to glory...Righetti just SO focussed and hard-hitting, just systematically putting it to Patton. Paula's sheer will allows her to get to Amanda's ribcage on occasion, but Righetti pushing-shoulders like a bully, preventing Patton from establishing any kind of work-rhythm.

R7: Righetti actually allowing Patton to move inside - Paula clubbing heavy lefts and rights head-and-shoulders on Amanda while Rigs edges in behind left shoulder, fitting Paula's midsection for vicious short left hooks and shoveling right hands. Savage attrition...it's Paula's best round in terms of activity, but Amanda getting the looks she wants at her opponent's core...Patton's thighs trembling over the last minute as Righetti invests in body - prompting exhausted Patton clinching at bell.

R8: Bleak, staring look in Patton's eyes...she marches into the meat grinder as Righetti continues to turn the handle. Bell to bell it's Amanda's best round - absolute, comprehensive supremacy...she's showing the same disciplined look, working behind the jab, but she's landing with greater ferocity. Patton jerking/cringing from torrid body shots; Patton wincing, getting shoved around/walked down. Paula's curvy legs holding her up, stout heart keeping her in the game, but it's ALL Amanda. Righetti cold-blooded, just bashing away at a very strong brunette, reducing her to a throbbing, bruised lump of girl meat. At one point - with Patton covered up and stooping...Amanda dangles her left hand, crowding close to pound a series of 6 inch right hands to Patton's shoulders and guarded head. Blunt-force trauma beating Paula into stupor...she keeps her guard together, but she's staggering under the weight of shot. Amanda stays close - working short right uppercuts in concert with chopping rights to head - just methodically hammering Paula senseless at bell.

R9: Righetti mopping up, putting the three punch combos together jab/right cross/hook - just systematically breaking Paula down. Final minute - Patton forlorn, destitute...she staggers to ropes blinking and distraught. Amanda wades in, looking to finish and PAULA ERUPTS! Left hook crashes across Amanda's chin, followed by chopping short right! Redhead stunned, wobbly butt, reaching to wrap arms around Paula's shoulders, but PATTON POUNDS THE GUT! Paula doubling Amanda up...Righetti gurgling in shock, unable to tie up...Paula pushing forward, ripping Amanda to body, then clubbing her to head. Righetti's curvy legs hold her up as she crosses arms midring, just digging in to receive her lickin's...Patton squares away, pouring her reserves into a desperation assault that leaves Amanda shellshocked at bell!

R10: Patton exhausted by her dramatic 9th round surge...she's shot, Amanda's still got plenty: Righetti retakes command of the ring. Amanda responsible, smart behind the fight-winning jab - she stays outside, pulverizing shopworn Paula left hands to upperchest/face/pate. Poor Patton! Eyes hammered to slits; face leathery from constant shelling; legs heavy from body-thump...it's the beating of a lifetime, handed down from a vengeful redhead. Bell: a final blazing look from Amanda as she looks over a reeling Paula - punishing UD10 wide, Amanda Righetti.

Katrina Law tweets: "I want a piece of Patton. Let's follow up on her, make sure she's deflated!"

After: Righetti shows class in aftermath, hugging a badly battered Paula and chatting with her in the aftermath...Patton on the receiving end of one of Amanda's most complete performances as a pro. "It was a great fight for me," Amanda says in postfight, "but I have to say - Paula showed how dangerous she is tonight - I could never feel super-comfortable until the final bell, because she was still swinging blockbusters late. We really felt like we had to control distance on her, so my guys put in more of a straight boxing offence than I've used before, but it worked really well. I felt like I controlled Patton throughout, minimized her chances, and always retained initiative. I didn't want to trade with her - I wanted her out on the end of my jab, and that's pretty much where I kept her. I hate to think of any fight as a 'must win' fight, but Paula's a pretty serious threat. I couldn't let her double up on me, and I think I hammered out a pretty good message to the rest of the division that Amanda Righetti's still the boss, you know?"
