FOXFIRE UNITED VS FRONT STREET JAPAN #3

(Results: Knowlesey; Writing: Archer)

Things not looking good for Foxfire United after seeing Juno Temple and Sylvie van der Vaart go down to defeat. However Demi Lovato is as upbeat as she enters the ring as she has been throughout the visit to Japan. She’s won over a good portion of the crowd who cheer her in her silver bikini (with black edging) as she makes her way to the ring. All this does not seem to sit well with model Sayuri Anzu, though she certainly not lacking for fan support as she enters in her navy blue one-piece cutout suit. Sayuri gives Demi a resentful look and whispers: “Enjoy the cheers now. They won’t last long.” Demi merely smiles sweetly at the taller model and retorts: “We’ll see.”

Rd.1: Demi out crisply with good movement and well-placed punches that knocked Sayuri’s head from side to side, then smack hard into the model’s midsection. Sayuri trying to cope with Demi’s attacks from unexpected directions and quick movements seems confused as she tries to re-organize herself. Demi slowly builds up the pressure and the more she puts on, the less effective Sayuri’s defenses become until the Japanese girl finds herself being controlled and even bullied as Demi shoves her against the ropes at one point. (Warning finger wag from the referee for this). Demi finally settles down and just takes Sayuri apart. She pounds flanks, then, the head, down the ribs and up to the rack. Sayuri on her feet at the end, but she is swaying ominously as she slowly returns to her corner. Round to Demi Lovato.

Rd. 2: Demi and Sayuri back out and the story is the same. Demi on the offensive from the outset, but Sayuri’s defense still not stopping many Lovato punches. Demi driving Sayuri around the ring, just beating her thoroughly from waist to head and looking very dominating. Then, with thirty seconds to go, Sayuri finally able to duck a Lovato incoming right and nail the American with hard uppercut into the pit of the stomach. Demi’s eyes bulge and she tiptoes backwards gasping for air. Her back hits the ropes and Sayuri is on her swinging hard. Demi gets her mitts up, but what really saves her from disaster is the bell. Demi still gets the round.

Rd. 3: Sayuri now the aggressive one, attacking and attacking hard, but she has to get in close to do this and has to pay the price in eating Demi’s powerful counters. Two are banging away at each others torso and Demi’s punches start drifting lower and lower towards borderline illegal. Sayuri starts to wince from these punches and her attack falters. Then Demi moves to the offensive landing a few short uppercuts to the chin and sending Sayuri reeling backwards. Demi follows and swings in a sharp one-two to the face, suddenly a big cut opens over Sayuri’s eye left and Demi concentrates on making the cut bleed to the bell. Sayuri’s face (and Demi’s gloves) streaked with crimson. Demi looks pleased with herself as she takes another round.

Rd. 4: At 5’5 to Demi Lovato’s 5’3, Sayuri Anzu has a two inch height and reach advance, she now attempts to put that advantage to work, but Demi’s just tucking into her and Sayuri just can’t seem to cope. The cut over Sayuri’s left eye is reopened and soon it becomes evident that the Japanese girl’s finding it hard to focus. Demi shows no mercy as she batters Sayuri as she slowly backs her near the ropes. When Sayuri attempts to make a stand, Demi simply pushes her back into the ropes and then leans into smack Sayuri’s head from side to side in an alarming fashion. Referee has to step in and save the helpless Front Street Japan from further battering. TKO4 Demi Lovato.

After: Crowd doesn’t seem too happy with the way Demi bullied and beat down Sayuri Anzu. Still, Foxfire United has it’s first win of the night and Demi Lovato is that winner.

“Yes, I had to get tough with her,” Demi explains later, “she wasn’t respecting me and I had to show her how wrong that was. I’m just glad I won my fight, let’s hope the other girls can do as well.”

(Danielle Harris, Hayden Panettiere and Sarah Carter seen exchanging looks at this remark).

Sayuri Anzu speaks later: “She was just too strong for me tonight. I also think the referee should have paid more attention to where some of her punches her landing. I don’t think all them were legal.”

“We don’t comment on losing fighters’ sour grapes comments,” Foxfire General Manager Jennifer Garner said dismissively about Ms. Anzu's remarks.
