The final chapter of Gemma Merna's autumn revival tour sees her going up against Emilia Clarke of the Lookout! Atlantic stable. During this personal series the former flyweight champion suffered a shocking defeat to Amelle Berrabah before losing a tight points battle versus Cheryl Cole but finally broke her seven fight losing streak against Danielle Lineker few days ago. However things don't make themselves much easier as Clarke is a young prospect with a great Lookout! backing and she's won two of her three BBU bouts to date, the latest against Merna's stablemate, the omni-present Samia Ghadie.

Merna thinks she's broken the deadlock for good following a decision win over Lineker and stares at her dark-haired opponent with little sympathy during the introductions. But Clarke does likewise, she's maybe innocent looking, but definitely can punch and she really thumped Samia Ghadie out of her senses last time around. This promises to be a fiery affair with both girls hoping to demolish each other tonight. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Merna likes her chances early, leaps after her rival with a jabbing series, but gets blocked and Emilia whips a response over the top, catches the blonde's nose and slams a quick hook on the liver, stranding Gemma on the spot. Jabbing combo to the head follows and Merna must cover up, but still gets whacked up high and retreats in a hurry as Emilia hassles her around the ring; works the single jab on the head before Gemma can step away from her for good. Both girls circle around each other for a brief moment but Clarke shows more agression and keeps her opponent on the back foot, reaching after her midsection with Merna reverting into single striking from mid-range for remainder of the round but well off the target.

Round 2:
Emilia jumps after the blonde again; whips her in the stomach and finds a way through with a crisp uppercut as Gemma's head snaps back and the actress misses a hooking response, exposes her right side and gets whacked by a big half-uppercut on the chest. Clarke piles in with a right over the top, nails Gemma on the eye and wobbles her before another jabbing sequence laces the blonde around the elbows and pushes back to the ropes. Clarke arrives there in no time, traps the cumbersome actress under a flurry of jabs to the body, flicks another uppercut between the arms and Gemma just crumbles under this onslaught. Couple of more hooks land clean on the temple and MERNA SITS DOWN in the corner!!! Emphatic execution from the Lookout! brunette who just thumped her foe onto the ground, but Gemma's up quickly at five, nods her head in frantic fashion as Emilia sports a mammoth smile on her pretty face. She keeps the brave actress pinned in the corner and bashes her to the body; Merna looks puzzled and unable to get out of the danger zone, takes more punishment to the stomach but avoids getting nailed on the face again as the ref has to drag Clarke away from her at the bell.

Round 3:
Gemma's slow off her stool after that torrid round and Emilia is quick to pounce; she throws another low sequence around the elbows before switching high and landing a trademark uppercut to the chin. Merna begins to moan in pain and looks shaky on her feet again as Emilia opens up from both wings and laces her around the elbows, backs against the ropes again where she continues to deliver more venom. Gemma just covers up, looks to be overwhelmed by the brunette's execution and can't find any significant response. She throws some single jabs to the body, but skims off the flesh and leather, gets whacked by another piercing shot to the jugs and leans back on the ropes as Emilia gives her a textbook bruising with some jabs to the face. Merna's defence crumbles again and Clarke splits her mitts with a cross-hooking effort, sends a left hook on the temple and bends the blonde to the side. Right hook follows up moments later and Gemma gets nailed on the temple, groans in pain and DROPS TO HER KNEES; just struggles to handle the Lookout! barrage! Emilia punches the air in delight but the lump-faced actress rises to her feet at seven and despite looking really second-handed, she's not giving up on this one. Clarke barks in disdain, slashes her throat with a telling gesture and goes for another combo, but crashes off the guard this time and Gemma finds a straight jab, catches the raging brunette on the mouth and soon whacks her under the elbows herself forcing a clinch as Emilia lost her momentum for good. Extended shoving in the corner follows as the ref does little to interfere and the blonde Hollyoaks starlet survives until the bell, but it's all Emilia Clarke after nine minutes of action.

Round 4:
Coach Denise Lewis is all over Gemma's ear during the interval while the cutmen have their hands full as well because Emilia really gave the blonde a serious face bruising with her repeated attacks. Merna's been hollow all the way through so far, but fought off couple of knockdowns and looks ready to go before the fourth. Clarke thinks she's got her covered though; leaps after her with more menacing hooks, but Gemma picks up her speed across the canvas and manages to avoid closing in as Emilia rushes with her approach, looks desperate to connect with the actress' flesh as quickly as possible. Merna circles around in avoidance, digs deep into her experience factor and wears the younger girl out by some fancy footwork. Crowd doesn't like it, but Gemma has bigger problems on her mind and Emilia is losing her patience in the final minute. She works the single jab with little efficiency and struggles with her feet, allows the blonde to reach her with a cross-hooking combo and a low jabbing follow up. Clarke retreats to the ropes, tries to outsmart her opponent with some footwork tricks but Gemma just lays onto her with a big right hand and catches on the mouth, breaking her mitts in the proccess. Emilia leans back on the ropes, but the bell prevents the blonde from following up as the ref grabs her around the waist and drags away from the ropes just in time because Merna's swinging hook cut through the air fraction of an inch away from Emilia's nose.

Round 5:
Emilia refuses to step back, still confident of her advantage over the blonde rival and she quickly lands some jabs to the midsection only to get stunned by a cross-hook to the mouth moments later and Gemma really looks serious now as she lashes out at the brunette and both girls tangle in the middle of the ring with extensive leather-trading. Couple of left hooks cut Clarke's cheek though and she backs out first, having skimmed off the gloves herself as Merna leaps after her and finds another left over the top, cleans out the brunette's eye and forces her to cover up. Single jabbing to the guts follows and Emilia bends forward, tries to clinch but Merna rips her mitts apart, lands a straight on the mouth and sends her back to the ropes. Clarke sidesteps to the left, but can't get away from the ropes as Gemma works the high jabbing, weaves the brunette on her feet before going around her elbows with a low sequence and Emilia just can't avoid getting laced, stumbles across the corner post and moans in pain as Gemma gutwrenches her late in the round. More vicious jabs follow and Clarke is left staring at the canvas after the bell as Gemma struts back to her corner and the smile on Denise Lewis' face tells everything.

Round 6:
Clarke has some breathing troubles at the start of the sixth and Merna snaps her head back with a couple of straight jabs straight off the bell. Emilia is slow across the ring, fails to keep the distance and loses another leather trading battle as Merna ignores the shots landing on her chest to blast the brunette across the face with more precise cross-hooks. Emilia's on the back foot, drops her arms and weaves around, tries to tease the blonde into a mistake but Gemma just laughs at her and spikes her nose with a right jab. Clarke shakes her head, wipes the nose with the top of her glove but there's no blood yet as Merna pours in with more hooks around the elbows, pushes the aching Lookout! girl back to the ropes where she continues to clean out her midsection and has sinking on her knees in the final minute. Methodical body punishment from the blonde actress who once again leaves Emilia stranded on the ropes and taking relentless punishment. Clarke tries to clinch, but Merna's intensity tames her efforts and couple of big hooks on the breasts right before the bell really take the breath out of Emilia.

Round 7:
Emilia's hurt, she's fighting back the tears as she rises from her stool and Merna goes for another body punishment series. Clarke doesn't even raise her arms to protect the face, but it makes no difference as Gemma whips more jabs around the elbows, bends her rival forward and makes mer moan in pain with more hooks to the stomach. Clarke loses her balance, tries to clinch, but can't reach the blonde who makes a quick side-turn and throws another cross-hook, this time nailing the brunette on the nose. Emilia starts to bleed now and the fighting spirit seems to have evaporated for good as Merna whacks her in the ribcage again and it's getting really ugly now but Clarke can't hang on forever. More low jabs from the right raise her noise levels even further and the hapless brunette finally CRASHES DOWN TO HER KNEES and bends her head across the ring. 'That's right, slut! Stay there!', Gemma scowls at her fallen opponent before going back to neutral corner and Emilia's in all kind of trouble. She wipes her nose again but this time there's blood left on her glove, yet upon seeing Merna shaking her booty in the corner, she makes a brave effort to get up. She launches herself at seven and is back upright before the count reaches ten however she immediately wraps her arms around her ribs and winces in pain as the ref looks on in great concern. Yup, he's calling the medics here! Emilia walks slowly to her stool and the doctor examines the brunette's ribcage which took tremendous pounding in the past couple of rounds. Clarke can't stop moaning and there's a strong hint she might have suffered a cracked rib. It's all over. Doctor calls it a day and the ref raises the blonde's arm in winning gesture. TKO R7 Gemma Merna!!!

Post-fight:
Shades of the flyweight elite from Gemma who came back from two early knockdowns to literally break Emilia Clarke's ribs and secure her a trip to the hospital for further medical evaluation. Indeed Clarke needs the help of her corner to leave the arena as a happy looking Merna nods her head in approval whilst being hugged by Denise Lewis. 'The champ is back, folks!", Merna looks like she's won her maiden BBU bout or reclaimed the flyweight crown but that was very impressive from the Hollyoaks stalwart.

Admittedly Emilia Clarke didn't help herself much, rushed with her execution following the early knockdowns and allowed the more experienced girl to weather the storm and pounce back in lethal fashion. 'OK, Denise has told me I have to say something positive about Emilia', Merna raises her eyebrows and looks confused, 'Here goes, I thank Emilia and her crew for enabling me to score this much-needed stoppage victory! I beat the girl like a true champ... Wait, that's not positive? How come? After all, I could have left her sleeping on the canvas. Those ribs will heal quickly!'

So, we won't hear much positives about Clarke's perfomance from the Beever's faithful after all, but one must admire her early showing where she had the former champion all over the shop and destined to lose in comprehensive fashion. When she gains more experience, she'd be eating girls like Gemma Merna for breakfast!
