BEFORE:

O'Dell: "We've had quite an event tonight, a great party with a large number of the biggest of the FCBA stars in attendance, a great card, and, of course, MORE party coming afterward. Cameras now on the Odds and Ends box. There's the new prospect, Claire Holt. There's Kendra Wilkinson looking good dressed as a sexy zombie...isn't that the same costume Kat Dennings is wearing?"

Tess: "I do believe it IS. I can imagine things could get...interesting when we get back to The Manor..."

McCarthy: "Check out the Shahi girl. HOT. And a good fighter, too. And Lima. Now there's a REAL lightweight, not like that heartless clown Prejean..."

'Feelings, nothing more than feelings,
Trying to forget my feelings of love,
Teardrops, rolling down my face..."

McCarthy: "There are tears rolling down MY face right now because of the pain in my EARS..."

Tess: "Brazilian Mauricio Alberto Kaisermann, better known as 'Morris Albert', hit number six in the U.S. and number three in the U.K. with 'Feelings', which may just be the worst song of all time, back in 1975. Unfortunately for Albert, and fortunately for US, he was destined to be a 'One-Hit Wonder', as his follow up single..."

McCarthy: "They let him RELEASE ANOTHER SONG????"

Tess: "'Sweet Loving Man', barely charted, reaching only number 97 in the U.S. Albert was one of twenty artists to have their one and only Top 40 hit in 1975. Among the others were Van McCoy, who hit number one with 'The Hustle', Ace, which hit number one with 'How Long' and featured lead singer Paul Carrack, who later sang with Squeeze and Mike and the Mechanics, Sammy Johns, who made it to number five with 'Chevy Van', Jessi Coulter, who peaked out at number four with 'I'm Not Lisa', and Minnie Ripperton, who made it all the way to the top with 'Loving You'. Sadly, Ripperton died just a few years later at age 32 after a long battle with cancer."

McCarthy: "How are you...truck what's..."

Tess: "Albert, by the way, was sued by another singer for stealing 'Feelings' from another song. He lost the lawsuit and 88 percent of the song's royalties..."

McCarthy: "Why would someone want to CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY for this song? And where are you getting this information, Walmart?"

O'Dell: "Coming down to the ring masked and dressed as a police woman is our next competitor. Into the ring she climbs, helped off with the mask and costume...and that's Marion Cotillard of the Latin Union, making her FCBA debut and rocking a navy blue bikini!"

Tess: "Oscar winner in the HOUSE!"

"Goodbye to you my trusted friend.
We've known each other since we were nine or ten.
Together we climbed hills or trees,
Learned of love and ABCs
Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees,
Goodbye my friend it's hard to die..."

McCarthy: "I'm PRAYING for death right now!"

Tess: "Apparently Mac is not enjoying 'Seasons In The Sun', Canadian Terry Jacks' number one hit from 1974..."

McCarthy: "I might have KNOWN a Canadian was responsible..."

Tess: "The song was an English adaptation of the song 'Le Moribond' by Belgian singer Jacques Brel with lyrics by American poet Rod McKuen. The song was Jacks' only Top 40 hit, technically making him a one-hit wonder. However, Jacks was part of the group The Poppy Family with wife Susan. That group had two Top 40 hits, 'That's Where I Went Wrong', which hit number 27, and, most famously, 'Which Way You Goin', Billy?', which reached number one in Canada and number two in the U.S..."

McCarthy: "Why do you keep looking at that jack-o-lanter...HEY! YOURS HAS A TELEPROMPTER IN IT! TRUCK! YOU'VE BEEN FEEDING HER...DON'T DENY IT...THEN, WHO..."

Tess: "Wait for it..."

McCarthy: "SCABBO! YOU LITTLE..."

O'Dell: "Hold it together, Mac. And check out the masked St. Pauli Girl headed to the ring..."

Tess: "She's got some big...mugs..."

McCarthy: "I'm going to find OUT how she pulled this off..."

Tess: "Check the Owner's Box. There she is, with her pink laptop high fiving her Uncle Wiz. I suspect she's been there all night...just out of camera range..."

McCarthy(mumbling): "Little weasel..."

O'Dell: "Our St. Pauli girl climbs into the ring. Helped off with the costume and mask...and it's 'The Gravesend Gladiator', Gemma Arterton!"

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "About ready to go, and we're going to need predictions. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Other than Torv, Arterton's the best big Wiz has. Cotillard's fought plenty in Europe but hasn't been on the Big Stage before. Gotta favor Gemma."

O'Dell: "Tess?"

Tess: "Going to agree with Mac. I think Marion can make a fight of it, but I don't think she can stand in with Gemma for ten rounds. Arterton by KO."

O'Dell: "And here we go! Gemma immediately working forward behind that big left hand. Marion being backed up as Arterton, as usual, turns up the pressure."

McCarthy: "Cotillard forced to the defensive almost immediately."

O'Dell: "Marion backed into the ropes and will work from the pocket. High guard, moving the head and shoulders, countering off Gemma's offense."

McCarthy: "And doing a good job of it. Marion landing some good stuff in counter, making Arterton miss some."

O'Dell: "Gemma forcing the pace, but Marion holding her own from the defensive posture along the ropes. Both women land solid shots at the bell. Good two-way round, Mac!"

McCarthy: "Pretty even, Jenny."

Tess: "I called it a draw. 10-10 after one."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second round underway now, and Arterton back to the pressure. Marion not backing up this time, holding her ground and firing back. Gemma STICKING that left home and following with a right, forcing Marion to the defensive."

McCarthy: "Cotillard trying to give Gemma angles, but Arterton's an athletic girl. She's got good feet, and she's outmanuevering Marion."

O'Dell: "Out hitting her, too! Solid right hand there from Gemma! And THAT backed Marion up! Arterton coming forward, and now Cotillard retreats back to the ropes, sets up the pocket. Gemma laying seige."

McCarthy: "Marion defending it well again. Good movement of head, shoulders, hands. Arterton not getting out of control. Taking what's there, and it isn't much."

O'Dell: "Cotillard countering effectively at the bell, but, no question Gemma won this thing at mid-ring."

McCarthy: "Arterton's round."

Tess: "20-19 through two."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third round begins with Marion going straight to the ropes now. Not going to fight the more athletic Gemma out in open ocean. Sets up the pocket. Gemma goes to work with the seige guns."

McCarthy: "Marion very slick in here. This is a bit of a revelation for FCBA fans who haven't seen Cotillard. She's an excellent defensive fighter."

O'Dell: "Gemma, meanwhile, having some success in the attack, banging away with heavy shot..."

Tess: "Gemma has a lot more power than some people realize. She hits as hard as any lightweight Front Street has, and that includes Decker and Ruah."

O'Dell: "And she's bringing that power to bear right now, but it's Cotillard that may be getting the better of things with her counters."

McCarthy: "This is cute stuff, Jenny. She's landing a lot of clean stuff working off Gemma's offense."

O'Dell: "Another nice left there, and Marion blocks a right hand from Gemma at the bell. Good two-way round again, but I think the Frenchwoman got it."

McCarthy: "She did."

Tess: "29 apiece through three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Into the fourth round now, and a pattern developing. Gemma again working forward, Marion again willing to retreat, get against the ropes, and work from the pocket. Arterton thumping away, but the French beauty continuing to show good defensive abilities and continuing to score with sharp counters."

McCarthy: "Arterton's supposed to be really smart, but she's not acting like it. She's fighting Cotillard's fight...unless she's not."

Tess: "Help me out here, Mac..."

McCarthy: "One of two things going on here. Either Arterton is the fly being enticed into Marion's web, or Gemma's willing to concede points and absorb those counters in exchange for putting work into Marion. No way of knowing which it IS, but when this fight ends, we'll know who's strategy was the better one."

O'Dell: "Not sure who's right, Mac, but they both remain committed. Marion in the pocket, working the counters, Gemma laying seige, laying in the heavy shell. There's the bell ending the fourth, and I think Cotillard has taken the lead."

McCarthy: "That was her round. Close, but Marion won it."

Tess: "39-38 through four."

ROUND FIVE

O'Dell: "We're into the fifth now, and Cotillard wasting no time backing into the ropes and setting up the pocket. Arterton begins the seige again, banging away with heavy shot, eating counters as Marion plays defense with head, shoulder, and hand movement."

McCarthy: "Marion really establishing something with these tactics. She's showing she has a path to victory in the FCBA against girls who might be bigger and younger and a bit quicker."

O'Dell: "Gemma remains determined. Believes she can reduce the Frenchwoman with continued pressure. Banging away at both the head and body, getting plenty of work in."

McCarthy: "Arterton landing a bit more this round. Have to wonder if all the work she's putting in is having an effect."

O'Dell: "Cotillard still landing plenty of counters, but Gemma is getting the better of things in this stanza, landing a good right hand at the bell."

McCarthy: "Close, but Gemma's round."

Tess: "48-48 through five. Two rounds apiece and one even. Doesn't get much closer."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Second half of the fight now underway and Marion again to the ropes. Gemma continuing the pressure, thumping away heavy as Cotillard covers and counters from the pocket."

McCarthy: "Arterton hasn't slowed a bit. Kid's got great stamina. Just keeps firing away. Got to wonder how much longer Marion can hold up."

O'Dell: "Cotillard does seem to be slowing down, not punching as much. Still good defensively, but not scoring as much off the counter."

Tess: "Give Gemma credit for both patience and determination. Not giving up. Giving her plan time to work."

O'Dell: "And it does appear to be working. Marion taking a lot more than she's giving here in the sixth. Gemma not landing cleaner, but she is landing more."

McCarthy: "And those shots ARE going to add up."

O'Dell: "There are a couple more into the ribs at the bell. Strong round for Gemma."

Tess: "And she's in the lead 58-57."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "The seventh round now underway, and Arterton back on the attack. Marion in the pocket, getting outworked now..."

McCarthy: "I said three rounds ago that Arterton was fighting Cotillard's fight, unless she wasn't. Looks like she wasn't."

O'Dell: "It's starting to appear that way. Gemma relentless on the attack. She's been banging at the arms and shoulders of Cotillard and that's had an effect. Marion's gotten less and less busy the last few rounds, but Gemma's been steadily applying the leather."

McCarthy: "And she's landing cleaner now, too. Marion looking ragged, clinching and mouth breathing."

O'Dell: "Arterton's stamina impressive, Mac. Just keeps coming, keeps applying the leather. Cotillard game, still landing the odd counter, but it's Gemma in control at the bell."

Tess: "68-66 now. First time either lady has managed to build a lead of more than a single point."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Eighth round underway and we're right back to the seige tactics. Marion on the ropes, Gemma trying to break that pocket down. Arterton a hard right hand, got Cotillard's attention."

McCarthy: "Marion is just breaking down here, Jenny. And Gemma can see it, she's putting the foot down on the pedal now."

O'Dell: "Arterton ANOTHER hard right hand. Cotillard clinching and Gemma hammers free and ROCKS Marion with an uppercut. For the first time in the fight, Cotillard's knees gave a shimmy...AND A BRUTAL RIGHT-LEFT SNAPS THE HEAD BACK! Marion's hurt. ARTERTON SPLITS THE GLOVES WITH A RIGHT...AGAIN! AGAIN!"

McCarthy: "IT'S OVER! IT'S OVER!"

O'Dell: "Referee has seen enough and he's stopped it, jumping between the fighters and helping a wobbly Marion to her corner! Your winner by TKO8 is 'The Gravesend Gladiator', Gemma Arterton!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I've got our winner, Gemma Arterton. Gemma, I know you wanted to get back on the winning track after that tough loss to Lima..."

Gemma: "No question. Losses set you back a bit, so you've got to make it count the next time you get in the ring. This girl here, she's smart and she's slick, so she made it tough...hey, Tess, enough about me. You hear the crowd? They want your colleague to come up here and take a bow!"

Tess: "I'm sure the fans at home can hear the crowd, which is on its feet chanting for J-Mac, who officially retires in about an hour, to come up here...Come on up, Mac. Thanks, Gemma. See you at the press conference!"

Gemma: "See you there, Tess."

Tess: "Jenny's climbing up here...give her a mic. Anything you want to say to the crowd, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Well, I could talk about what a thrill and honor it's been to fight in rings like this in front of crowds like this and how much I'll miss it. But. I've got an hour left. HEY, CAMPBELL! HOW ABOUT YOU GET YOUR OVERRATED ASS BACK TO THE LOCKER ROOM AND GLOVE UP! LET'S DO THIS ONE MORE TIME!"

Tess: "Now, Mac, calm down..."

McCarthy: "YOU HEARD ME! I BEAT YOU LAST TIME AND YOU KNOW IT! THOSE BELTS SHOULD HAVE BEEN MINE! LET'S DO THIS..."

Tess: "Oh, no. She's coming over here..."

Neve: "...mic, Tess! You want one more a** kicking for the road, McCarthy?"

McCarthy: "I'LL TAKE YOU DOWN, CAMPBELL! RIGHT HERE IN FRONT OF YOUR PHILLY FANS!"

Neve: "Wiz, get a contract down here. Mac, I'll be back in this ring in fifteen minutes. If you really want to go out on your shield, BE here when I get back."

Tess: "Neve and Mac headed to the back. This is HAPPENING!"

O'Dell: "Truck, get word back to network that we may be going over our time block. Stay tuned ladies and gentlemen. It looks like we're FAR from finished!"
