Two feisty big girls of the British small screen clash now in this welterweight eliminator, and I don’t know who to see as the favourite. They have fought before, and Lucy knocked Suranne out in 9, Lucy’s got a good, if short, record, but at 35 is she a little too old to be a contender? Then again, Suranne, who’s a couple of inches taller, is 33, and the defeats she’s suffered have been against better girls than Lucy’s actually fought so far. Let’s find out!

Suranne’s wearing a white one piece leotard type outfit tonight, with Lucy looking rather raunchy in her red bikini with white tassels – quite the cowgirl!

Round 1

Ouch! These two are going for it really hard straight off their stools, and Lucy just nailed Suranne with a left hook, sending her across the ring and into the ropes. She seems to be sensing a quick fight here, but Suranne’s ready for her, and that’s a great combo! She’s hurt Lucy with two solid right hooks, and there’s another, and Lucy’s down, on her knees and shaking her head to get some sense back in it. Lucy’s up at 6, and here’s Suranne on the attack, using that reach advantage she’s got as well, and Lucy can’t get in close enough to throw her bombs – plus she’s hurt anyway, so maybe she needs to regroup a little during the break as we end this first round.

Round 2

Suranne’s keen on this fight now, and she really gave Lucy a tough time in the first – but she can’t afford to trade shots like this! Lucy’s got in really close, and that negates the big girl’s reach, with Lucy belting her inside, roughing her up, too, and Suranne’s sounding a bit wimpy as she squeals at the ref. Lucy looks quite happy here, and she’s just clubbing Suranne’s body, and Suranne pushes her away, but she’s still moaning, and Lucy’s given her a good one in the mouth – that’ll shut her up. It’s split her lips open, anyway, and she’s really unhappy now – not looking the same girl who was on top in the opening round for sure!

Round 3

Suranne looks a little more composed this time, even though she’s got a real fat lip there, and she’s keeping Lucy away with her jab, using her height and reach just like a taller girl should – that’s nice work there, Suranne – she gave Lucy a really nice three punch combo, and Lucy’s got to be sensible, got to try to work her way inside. Now the girls exchange in the centre of the ring, and I’d say Lucy got the worst of that – she certainly took a couple of solid jabs from Suranne, and now she’s leaking a little blood – yeah her nose is smearing some blood over her face, and Suranne’s starting to enjoy herself again, taking the initiative back, I’d say.

Round 4

The girls are both looking like they want to inflict some pain this round, and this is looking brutal now, with both of them giving the other everything she’s got – they really aren’t boxing at all at the moment, they’re just punching each other’s face as hard as they can, and neither girl wants to step back. But Suranne hurt Lucy then! Lucy has had to go backwards, and Suranne hits her again, and those jabs of hers are lumping the shorter girl’s face up for her – there’s a big swelling under her right eye! In comes Suranne, and she’s got Lucy going, I think – no! Lucy’s banging some great shots back at Jones, and she hurt her then with a big shot to the liver, and that’s turned Suranne around – there’s the uppercut from Lucy, and Suranne’s knees give a little wobble as she almost sits on the bottom rope – now Lucy’s giving Suranne a belting, and that’s the bell! What a round!

Round 5

Surely these girls can’t keep this up? Suranne’s started the round well, though, and she’s nailing Lucy with those straight punches of hers, and Lucy’s face looks red and swollen, I can tell you, both cheeks really roughed up from the pressure from Suranne’s glovework! But Lucy’s got inside Suranne’s lead again, and she digs into her flanks with some heavy shots – both gloves smacking into Jones’s midsection there – and she’s hurt her with that right hook! Suranne’s juddering backwards, and Lucy gets her in the face this time with her right, and another – Suranne’s down! She’s up again at 4, but that was a good shot that tagged her, and I don’t think she’s recovered – another good shot from Lucy! Jones is down again! She’s up at 5 this time, and she’s lucky, cos that’s the end of the round!

Round 6

Lucy’s looking more confident now, and she’s right in there at Suranne this time, giving her body some stick I can tell you! Those punches are really bouncing off the big girl’s body – but she’s fighting back! Jones got a whupping in the fifth, but she’s just caught Pargeter with a great right hand to the face, and there’s a left to match it, and now Lucy looks unsteady on her feet again. She doesn’t hold though, just backs away, and she catches Suranne on her way in with the follw up – that’s the uppercut again, and I thought Jones was going down, but she stays on her feet, even though Lucy’s just turned her around and hurt her with left hook to the mouth – that’s another ferocious round over!

Round 7

Suranne’s taking some very deep breaths now – she’s really looking tired, and Lucy’s getting through with those body punches again, really nailed her then with one in the tummy, and that’s a good left hook to the face, and Suranne’s down again – I think the body shot really hurt her that time, and she was already going down from that when Lucy hit her again. Suranne’s up at 7, but she doesn’t look good, and she’s been cut under her right eye – that’s a deep cut, and the blood’s pulsing down her face, and now Lucy’s taking charge of this fight, and Suranne’s backed up to the ropes now, getting a working over, I’m afraid, and Lucy’s giving it to her ribcage bigtime – boy must Jones be glad that round’s over!

Round 8

The ref’s looking interested in Suranne’s eye, but the girls continue, and Lucy - aww – that’s opened that cut right up, a cruel punch from Pargeter! Suranne’s in big trouble, and yep, Lucy got her again with the left, and Jones is on her knees, looking very shabby, and scrambling up at 8 – but she’s all over the place – her legs aren’t holding her steady at all – it’s over!

Well, Lucy deserves her title shot after winning that brutal fight – both girls will need treatment in hospital after that, and Suranne must realize she was really quite badly beaten up tonight!
