Lioness Club's Charlotte Church has been sitting comfortably in the Welsh bantamweight title chair since January 11th when she knocked out Katherine Jenkins. However her reign was always destined to come under serious scrutiny from allegedly the best bantamweight in Wales right now, Imogen Thomas from the Kear's Kats stable.

"It's got nothing to do with Katherine and I being stablemates", Imogen tells Denise van Outen in a pre-fight interview, "Over at the Kats we have a hierachy set, I'm the best bantam and just because Charlotte beat Katherine it doesn't mean I'm out for a revenge or something. I hate Charlotte Church even without her win over Jenkins. And now since i lost, yeah, hard to put that word in one line with my name, but yeah, since I lost the BBU bantamweight title outright, I finally have a chance to beat Church up and strip her of that Welsh crown. It's not that I need it, everyone knows I'm the best bantam girl in Wales anyway, but beating Church is something I was looking for a long time!"

"That's the Imogen Thomas we all know", equally confident champion responds, "She's all mouth and nothing else. Heck, even her boobs are fake from what I know. I wonder what will come out of them once I pound them flat? Let's not mention her lucky run to the BBU title. That's still the biggest travesty in the BBU's history and I loved the way Clara Morgane beat her up! I will do likewise and keep my reign alive!"

Round 1:
Imogen made a slow start against Clara Morgane and got surprised thereafter; she's keen not to repeat that mistake again as she leaps from her stool and shows no signs of challenger worries as she rips into Charlotte with couple of low jabs and the champion is warned early. Church blocks more efforts on the ribs but gets nailed with a quick uppercut and it's all Thomas inside the opening minute, the brunette on a personal mission, backs the blonde against the ropes and works around her stomach as Charlotte can only clinch and that's pretty desperate already from the reigning champ. Ref comes to the rescue and Church jumps to safety, shows some nifty footwork and keeps the distance as Imogen swings around her head menacingly and has the champion covering the whole width of the ring! The crowd inside the BBU Arena are loving this and looks like there are more fans of Miss Thomas, probably thanks to her extended career in lad's magazines over the past years. Imogen tries to make some damage to the face, but Charlotte's guard holds up well until the bell albeit that was a very worrying round for the Lioness girl.

Round 2:
More from Thomas who just doesn't give her opponent a moment of respite and Church continues to dance around the ring however she knows that's not the plan for winning this fight and when first whistles and jeers are heard from the crowd, she knows perfectly well they're not intended for Thomas by any means. Charlotte steps it up, almost forced to by the raging crowd and she whips couple of hooks to the ribcage, nails the brunette spot on but Imogen whacks a right hook in response, lands it on the cheek and Church wobbles a bit and soon eats more leather to the chest as Thomas closes the distance even further and pours in with more venom. Charlotte covers up, works the single hand from behind the guard but makes no impression on the challenger. Thomas walks her to the corner, keeps spiking with overhand shots and Church bends forward, looks for another clinch, but that won't work twice against the former BBU champion and Imogen splits the mitts with a double combo, whacks a straight jab on the mouth and Church's head snaps back as Imogen goes for more blows to the midsection and only gets halted by the bell... or maybe not... she's pouring shots on the tummy well after the bell and gets a tasty earful from the ref afterwards. She looks unmoved though, shoves the ref away and struts back to her corner as Charlotte's eyes just got bigger and dare one say, not exactly filled with confidence after that experience.

Round 3:
Charlotte's maybe lost some of her champion aura in wake of those six minutes of action, but she's up after Thomas early in the third as both girls exchange wild punches in the middle of the ring and that's exactly what the audience wants to see, however Imogen shows superior footwork, prevents Church from landing solid shots to the face and the blonde skims off the gloves and flesh more often than not while Thomas whacks her with a big right hook in the middle of that frantic exchange and the knees wobble again for Church who gets caught with an overhand left on the eye moments later and falls back to the ropes where the vulture arrives in a hurry, left/right combo from Imogen keep the champion pinned on the ropes, a series of low jabs on the navel do more damage and Charlotte's eyes are truly getting bigger here, left uppercut on the chin meets no resistance and a right hook on the temple serves as the put-away! DOWN GOES CHURCH CRASHING ON HER SIDE as Imogen plays with her mouthpiece and seems to contemplate whether it's over or not.... Church has some problems with beating the count, but manages to do it at seven. Thomas pours in with more jabs straight after the command and has the champion running around the ring scared!!! Loud whistles all over the BBU Arena and even Imogen affords herself a smile. She's got Charlotte right where she wants her and drops the pace, teases the blonde with some fake hooks and while Church remains covered behind her guard, looks like the entire audience has gotten beind the challenger and Imogen dwells on the chants, gives Charlotte another life and decides to postpone the execution for the time being.

Round 4:
Church knows she's on the verge of becoming a laughing stock in the whole of Wales and refuses to accept it. Despite all the warnings, she still wants a piece of Thomas and lashes out at her with tremendous ferocity and both women exchange wild punches again with Imogen looking much more confident, seemingly aware of the fact she's the superior fighter and allthough Church lands couple of hooks on the temples, that hardly rocks the brunette off her comfort zone, she responds with more low jabs to the midsection, finds those dragons on the blonde's chest and bounces off them repeatedly which makes the champion moan in pain, left hook on the cheek, right on the temple and Church spins back to the ropes, tries to duck underneath a right hook but is slow in execution, gets nailed on the eyes and that keeps her back upright but firmly pinned against the ropes and Thomas just hammers her ribcage until the bell as Church sinks further on her knees and looks like a helpless punchbag rather than current Welsh champion. Incredible set of applause for Imogen as she waves to the crowd at the end of the round and she's slowly reducing Church into a bruised mess, the blonde girl has developed a nasty shiner under her left eye and her cheeks are quite swollen already. She tries to stare at her rival during the interval, but the fear factor is all gone and Thomas is licking her lips instead, obviously more than ready to dish out further punishment.

Round 5:
Imogen closes the distance straight off the bell just as Charlotte didn't look so agressive anymore, but she's got no choice as the brunette rips into her guts again and that tummy is glowing red now just changing color under all that barrage as Thomas switches high after few seconds, looks to break the mitts into pieces and Charlotte gets her own leather shoved into her face as Imogen's power is just relentless and effective. Church on the back foot, but nowhere to hide, gets pummelled back to the ropes with some single striking, Imogen opens up and goes around the gloves, nails the blonde on the temple, both sides, left hook on the chest, right hook on the eye.. DOWN GOES CHURCH AGAIN... just crumbling under the onslaught and landing on her knees as Thomas gloats in joy over her... Another long count in the making, but Church is up at eight, eyes all gloomy right now though and this maybe over soon. Charlotte doesn't look like she's enjoying this vicious treatment any longer. Thomas spikes her from the top after the command and Church caves in, just covers up but it's long way to go in the round and she cannot possibly hope for the bell to save her champion's ass... First few hits are blocked but that only spurs the brunette into punching even harder... training dummy gym drill for Thomas and she breaks through the gloves, nails the hapless blonde on the mouth and Charlotte falls back on the ropes, takes more pounding to the midsection as Imogen switches the target again, bounces off the dragons, left hook on the cheek, another from the right and one more uppefcut on the chin... Charlotte's arms drop to the side and she's almost knocked out cold on her feet as the ref charges in and embraces the dizzy looking blonde with the BBU Arena errupting in flames if not literally... TKO R5 and the NEW Welsh bantamweight champion Imogen Thomas!!!

Post-fight:
It's hard to tell why exactly Imogen Thomas lost her BBU bantamweight title proper at the hands of Clara Morgane. Based on tonight's performance it looks like a one-off slip for the brunette however Morgane might be a real devil in disguise and just because she's French, it doesn't mean she can't be respected in Britain and is set to become one of the stars of the entire organization. Whatever the reason, it proved lethal for Charlotte Church's hopes of retaining the Welsh crown as Imogen was free to challenge her and even by Denise van Outen's account, for once the champion looked destined to suffer from serious ass-kicking and that's exactly what Imogen Thomas was capable of delivering.

Charlotte Church remains one of the stars of BBU and has no problems with selling the card on her own, but she's been handed some big losses ever since Miranda Kerr broke her nose back in March. After Alice Eve and Elizabeth Olsen, Imogen Thomas becomes another woman who just beat her from pillar to post and despite all the personal issues involved, beating Charlotte Church is still worth something to write home about and respected among the BBU community.
