Boxing's a young woman's game, and young women are kicking mature-lady ass with more authority than ever before in 2012! Here's a quick run down of some of the most exciting developments in ingenue boxing over the course of the last 12 months.

10: Kristen Stewart goes 5-0!

Kristen continues to mow down comp young and old. We look forward to seeing her take on front-line competition in 2013!

9: Elizabeth Olsen emerges

Liz Olsen has the potential to be a devastating whip-limbed bendy-backed fighter at bantam!

8: Scarlett Johannson batters Salma Hayek

Scarlett J proved the superiority of youth in a big way by humiliating cougar Hayek. Coming off a huge upset win over Lucy Liu, Salma just couldn't replicate those results against a younger girl fighting in her prime!

7: Tisdale stops Portman

Ashley Tisdale stepped up to the plate big time when she crushed Natalie Portman for a second round stoppage!

6: Nina Dobrev beats Ashley Madekwe; claims "prettiest" title

Nina Dobrev and Ashley Madekwe put on one of the best fights of the year for some of the highest stakes imaginable: to be acknowledged as boxing's prettiest fighter. With Ashley's weeping submission after the fight, Nina D catapulted to the peak of the fighting ingenue depth chart.

5: Leighton Meester KO1 over Minka Kelly

Minka's one of those women who regularly "passes" for Ingenue Status, so it's very important that true ingenues do well against her. You can't do much better than KO1, and that's exactly what Leighton did to Minka. It's a shattering result that added years to Minka's chassis, and put Meester in the driver's seat at LOOKOUT!

4: Jennifer Lawrence retires Jennifer Lopez

One of the sweetest sights of the year was Jen Lawrence taking round after bruising round from Jlo, ultimately pouring such a withering pound-down upon Lopez that she was forced to retire in the aftermath. Thank you Jennifer Lawrence: THANK YOU!

3: Hayden Panettiere vs Mila Kunis

Hayden and Mila reminded us that nothing matches the sheer ferocity and glory of two young women fighting at the very peak of their powers. After 10 titanic rounds, Hayden would edge Mila on all cards, once again protecting an aging Sarah Carter from a challenge she probably couldn't have handled.

2: Vanessa Hudgens destroys Michelle Williams

In one of the most savage, bitterly contested fights of the year, Vanessa Hudgens removed all doubt as to which of these two is truly better. It was a stunning achievement for 'Nessa, proving that young will is strong will, and that aging jubblies are just no match for fresh legs and tireless fists!

1: ???

The year's not over yet, and ingenue-fighting is so explosive and unpredictable that we honestly believe the best it yet to come!
