TESS VALMORE

First I would like to join those who have complimented Lookout for putting on this thoroughly enjoyable holiday card

KARDASHIAN/ SHAKIRA Miss Kardashian had not been very successful going into this fight. She is less successful now. Shakira decked Kardashian in the opening second of the first round and again two minutes later. Kardashian managed to get up from the second knockdown, but she was easy meat for Shakira and the referee stopped the fight

SIMPSON/ MITCHELL I don’t do JMD fights but I understand Mitchell won

DUFF/ CLARKSON This bout went four rounds. Duff took the second. The rest belonged to Clarkson who really softened up Duff in the third, and polished her off in the fourth decking Duff twice. The referee stopped the fight as Duff struggled to her feet. Goes down in the record books as a Clarkson TKO4

MEESTER/ LOWNDES Meester came to fight. Lowndes should have stayed home. Lowndes won only one round, the second in which she decked Meester. The rest of the fight belonged to Leighton. A body attack and a right to the jaw floored Lowndes in the tenth. She made it to her feet, only to have Meester pour on the punishment and the fight was stopped

HUDGENS/ PANETTIERE This fight was as one sided as the previous fight. Hudgens won only one round, the fourth. She went down twice in the fifth. Hudgens would manage to finish the fight, but it was a wide decision for Panettiere in one of her best showings of the year. We don’t like to publicize unsportsmanlike conduct, but chalk on up for Hudgens

TISDALE/ KRUEK This was the most anticipated fight of the night with a championship bout for Lookout if Tisdale won, or the loss of a stable member if she lost. Another classic case of it’s not over until it’s over. Tisdale went down twice in the third, once in the fourth, once in the seventh and once more in the ninth. Tisdale did score a knockdown of her own in the eighth but was way behind on the cards going into the final round. Kruek seemed to want to play it smart in the tenth, and stay away from Tisdale, but she couldn’t keep Tisdale off her. Tisdale launched a furious assault, battering Kruek helpless, and the referee called a halt to the fight. Lookout gets a title shot and Mr Hawkeye gets a new piece of wearing apparel

DOBREV/ CASSIDY. Dobrev was undefeated in six fights this year. Kiss that winning streak goodbye. Cassidy won this fight by a surprisingly wide decision. The fight, however, was closer than the score card indicates. Dobrev lost eight of the ten rounds and went down in the second and the seventh. Dobrev, however, came very close to winning the fight in the sixth, when she had Cassidy dazed and on the ropes with the referee watching closely ready to stop it. He allowed the fight to go on. Cassidy finished the round, recovered and then won the rest of the rounds and walked away with a hard fought verdict

BELLISARIO/ VANCAMP Another good fight where the fighter ahead on the cards went down in flames late. Bellisario was ahead on the cards at the end of five with knockdowns of Vancamp in the second and fourth. Vancamp managed a knockdown in the third. Vancamp started a comeback in the seventh but was still behind on the cards going into the ninth. That round belonged completely to Vancamp who tore into Bellisario with a body attack until Bellisario’s arms dropped and Vancamp went head hunting. Bellisario was unable to respond and the fight was stopped.

KELLY/ GLAU This bout lasted less than three rounds and it was, much to my surprise, all Glau. She won the first two rounds and then ended Kelly’s night with a hard right cross that put Kelly down for the count,

CUTHBERT/ MUNN What a fight! Less than a round, but with more action than most fights that go ten. Simply brutal back and forth slugging. Cuthbert opened her 2012 season with a decision over Munn. She ended the year being counted out, a victim of a Munn right hand to the chin.

LARTER/ PEREGRYM Another good bout on this card. I had Larter favored, although I hoped Missy would win. For the first five rounds, although they were hotly contested, Missy ruled, taking all five. Ali took the sixth and seventh, but Peregrym won the eighth. It would now take a knockout for Larter to win. She didn’t get it, but she did deck Peregrym in the ninth and had Missy hanging in the ropes in the tenth, but couldn’t finish her. It was too little, too late and Peregrym edged out the decision

WINSTEAD/ STRAHOVSKI The sixth fight in this rivalry and one that Strahovski simply could not afford to lose. She didn’t. After Winstead took two of the first three, Strahovski caught her with a right to the head, early in the fourth. Strahovski then poured on the punishment, ripping punches to the body, and then using Winstead’s face for a punching bag until the fight was mercifully stopped. A good showing from Yvonne.
