(BBU Independent, Debut vs BBU Independent)

First of the lightweight fights during the BBU Christmas Special features yet another newcomer, the latest Bond girl, Berence Marlohe from Paris, France. An obvious clash with fellow compatriot Marion Cotillard is almost certainly to take place sometime next year but on her debut Marlohe takes on an Italian model who recently defeated Cotillard herself, Elisabetta Canalis.

Elisabetta Canalis wearing a silver basque top with black laces, black knickers and blue gloves. Brown hair with bright flashes in loose waves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Canalis believes she's got another Cotillard on her hands - but with far less experience - and jumps after the French girl jabbing to the chest and catching Berenice's jugs straight away; follows it up with a fine left hook on the temple and the Bond girl looks stunned, leaps away into safety but gets tagged with another jabbing combo as Elisabetta clearly feels more comfortable in the ring and keeps punishing her foe without much resistance during the opening round. Marlohe is forced to cover up and manages to avoid some really heavy leather but Canalis just doesn't let go and fires away with mean intentions however she can't trap her French rival along the ropes and Berenice strays away from her before landing a noteworthy hook in the dying seconds as Elisabetta dropped her arms and seemingly waited for the bell.

Round 2:
More from the Italian, pounding away at her foe's abs early and slicing her with a hook on the temple before Berenice can jump away and circle around the menacing Canalis. Still, it's all about the Italian who blocks a following sequence to the body and slams the Bond girl on the ribs, bounces off her jugs and catches with another hook on the mouth. Marlohe strays back even further, manages to clinch her rival though after a wayward swing and sends some low jabs to Elisabetta's stomach which tames the Italian's agression for remainder of the round.

Round 3:
Quick leap from Berenice who ducks under a lethargic hook and catches the Italian on the ribs herself, flicks an uppercut on the rack and follows through with a straight jab on the nose which wobbles Elisabetta for the first time but she responds with a flurry of shots on the chest. Berenice takes couple of them clean but throws a big right hook on the temple and sends Canalis spinning back to the ropes where more vicious pounding ensues as we finally have some ill-temper on display from both sides. Elisabetta wrenches the Bond girl on the stomach but eats couple of quick jabs on the mouth and covers up, tries to leap to the side before getting laced by another hook on the temple and this time the bell comes to her rescue rather than Marlohe's.

Round 4:
Marlohe seems to have found her rhythm once she actually decided to attack but that has only triggered a wry response from the model who bangs her in the chest seconds into the fourth, more jabs on the ribs follow but Berenice spikes her with another accurate hook on the cheeks, bounces off the jugs, beats the Italian for pace and gutwrenches her in the middle of the ring which makes Elisabetta squeal in pain and drop her arms... right hook on the temple... CANALIS GOES DOWN ON HER BACK with her legs shooting up in the air!!! Big shot that one from the Bond girl who removes some hair from her eyes as the model raises up at seven and wipes her mouth in visible disdain. She rips into the French brunette immediately after the command, works some high jabs in the proccess, but leaves the ribcage exposed and Marlohe switches her gear, slams a series of hook on the liver area and slows her rival down, whacks her in the chin with a guard-breaker of a jab and Canalis wobbles back to the ropes just before the bell and quickly turns away to her corner as the hunter seemingly became a prey after that knockdown.

Round 5:
Berenice opens up with more jabs to the head and Elisabetta still seems affected by that knockdown, circles back and settles for some single punching over the top but Marlohe is much quicker across the canvas and begins to hassle her with good efficiency, lands more shots to the chest and body, flicks hooks on the cheeks and slowly but surely wears the model out. Canalis has some breathing trouble in the final minute, allows the Bond girl to close her down for good and push back to the ropes with midsection pummelling but she keeps her guard in tact as Marlohe bashes her on the leather in the final seconds but can't break her down again - yet. At the bell Berenice sports a bright smile with Elisabetta much annoyed.

Round 6:
The Italian seeks a change of fortunes and leaps back at her rival throwing shots to the head, but skims off the forearms and allows Berenice to nail her on the temple with a big right hook; it's followed by another one from the left and the mitts can't stay in tact now. More jabs to the face by Marlohe and she pushes her foe back to the ropes quickly, whacks her on the liver, bounces off the rack and slams another straight jab on the mouth which forces the model to wince in pain and cover up, but it's not enough to protect her as Berenice slams a series of jabs on the navel and sinks her opponent on her knees. The arms drop significantly again and Marlohe whacks Canalis across her nose SENDING HER DOWN ON THE SIDE as the Italian's legs just gave way in wake of that shot. Berenice stomps her foot across the canvas almost teasing Elisabetta to beat the count and allthough there's a long delay, the model manages to get up at nine but this time her face is quite swollen already having suffered some fine beating throughout the round. Canalis still glances at her with visible disdain but the body seems to be unresponsive and Berenice nails her with another jabbing series to the ribs, keeps her pinned on the ropes and snaps her head back couple of times with more hooks just before the bell and Elisabetta wobbles back to her stool with huge problems and her ship might have sailed here.

Round 7:
Canalis slow off her stool, visibly affected by the recent pounding she took as Marlohe shows her no mercy and spikes with a quick jabbing series to the chest which is followed by more rack pummelling and the Italian can't stop moaning now, falls back to the ropes and offers no resistance, just covers up her face and hopes for a miracle like there is one written in the script. Berenice switches low, bashes her aching foe in the ribcage and it slowly sinks the model further down as she can do nothing about the position she's found herself in. On the minute mark the merciless bashing finally takes it toll and Elisabetta crashes down on her knees, wraps her arms around the tummy and shows no signs of beating the count. But the ref doesn't even bother with that and waves it off on the spot as the French girl struts back to her corner... TKO R7 Berenice Marlohe!!!

Post-fight:
That was a slow start from the new French headliner - perhaps easy to understand given her rookie showing - but once she decided to roll out her armory, Elisabetta Canalis was destined to lose and she did so in comprehensive fashion. "I'm the best thing from France in BBU since Malika Menard", a visibly elated Marlohe confirms to Denise van Outen in a post-fight interview, "When I'll have so much experience as Malika, everyone will learn that I'm in fact a better fighter than her! And yeah, I didn't just ignore Elodie Frege for no reason. She's a champion but I'm bigger, better and more famous! I'm the real money maker and beating that whore Canalis was just a start! I can't wait for my next fight already and I thank you the entire Lioness Club for giving me an opportunity to show my skills... What? We must go now? (...) Some girls are waiting backstage for the next bout? OK, OK, Denise, just make sure I win the performance of the night award, will you? (...) You will? How nice from you!"
