Flyweight Rankings

Champion: Sarah Carter

1) Hayden Panettiere

2) Sienna Miller

3) Ashley Tisdale

4) Mila Kunis

5) Natalie Portman

6) Kristen Bell

7) Nina Dobrev

8) Michelle Williams

9) Lindsay Lohan

10) Lacey Chabert

Hayden Panettiere is our number one contender after a 4-1 finish since our last rankings, losing only to Sienna Miller. Hayden won over fighters like Sarah Shahi, Kat Graham, former number one contender Mila Kunis and hated rival Vanessa Hudgens to finish the year on a roll. Will Sarah dare face Hayden or continue to use her as a gatekeeper? Sienna Miller closed out strong with wins over Kelly Monaco and an absolute crushing win over highly ranked Ashley Tisdale, although lost to Carter for the title. Ashley Tisdale won over rivals like Heather Hemmens and Ashley Benson, but lost to Sierra Miller and Natalie Portman, also on the top ten. A final win over Kristin Kreuk helps nudge her towards the top. Mila Kunis had only one match and that was a loss to our number one contender, Hayden. We won't drop Mila too far for that, but she will need to be more active and successful to get back into the top spot. The fact that she didn't receive a title spot after all that time at number one was borderline criminal, but was unable to get past the new number one contender, Panettiere.

Natalie Portman won over Michelle Trachtenberg and Ashley Benson, but a loss to Bell drops her a spot since neither of her wins are over opponents that are ranked. Kristen Bell rises up with her win over Natalie Portman, which demonstrates that she has the talent to be an elite flyweight, but she needs to be more active and consistent if she wants to remain ranked and especially this highly. Nina Dobrev is a new addition to this list, but has had an amazing 4-1-1 record since the previous rankings, with only a draw to Jamie Chung and a loss to CW rival Katie Cassidy keeping her from going higher. She's 5-1-1 for the whole year, with wins over fighters like Kelly Carlson, Miley Cyrus, Leighton Meester, Ashley Madekwe and Michelle Williams, plus two wins in the BBU. An impressive run for Dobrev this year, both before and since her trade to Lookout! Boxing.

Not to pile on to Michelle Williams, but she closed her year on a 2-2 run with wins over stablemate Kristin Kreuk and Ashley Benson, but losses to Nina Dobrev and Vanessa Hudgens were absolutely devastating. Michelle will move back up we're sure however, as we've learned never to underestimate her. It's been a long time since Lindsay Lohan has made an appearance on these rankings, but her recent record deserves it as she is 4-1 since the previous rankings and avenged her only loss to promising newcomer Emma Stone with a big win next time out. Lindsay has talked about getting back into the flyweight title picture and is fighting like it. Lacey Chabert has a win over Scarlett Johansson, but her obsession with taking the flyweight title and failure to do so from rival Sarah Carter resulted in a loss and a draw. Hopefully, her opponent portfolio will be diversified here in the upcoming months, but more on that later in a separate discussion.

It pains us to drop Scarlett Johansson and Cassie Scerbo off of the top ten lists here at Flyweight, though know that they are both likely to get back on the list here soon. Ms. Johansson dropped off the list entirely, with losses to Lacey Chabert and Jennifer Lawrence, but a win to Salma Hayek to her credit. We won't blame her too much for the loss to Jennifer Lawrence as Lawrence is a lightweight, maybe even a welterweight. However, with the activity and success of other fighters, we couldn't rank her over others. Cassie Scerbo dropped off with a win over Rachel Leigh Cook, but losses to Julianne Hough and Brenda Song. Neither Hough or Song are ranked currently, but both have had big wins lately and could be poised to be ranked next time with some more success. Kristin Kreuk and Sarah Shahi are also close, as could be Vanessa Hudgens if she can build on her win over Michelle Williams. The flyweight division is more competitive and dangerous than ever, with some significant activity since the previous rankings.

Claire Danes dropped off of our flyweight rankings as she is no longer competing at flyweight. If she returns, we will examine and adjust accordingly.
