Top 10 Lightweights

Champion: Kaley Cuoco

1. Rachel Nichols

2. Tricia Helfer

3. Yvonne Strahovski

4. Jessica Biel

5. Adrianne Palicki

6. Mary Elizabeth Winstead

7. Missy Peregrym

8. Maria Menounos

9. Gemma Arterton

10. Taylor Cole

Kaley Cuoco moves up and off of the list entirely as the current lightweight champion, previously held by Rachel Nichols.

Our current number one contender is now Rachel Nichols, who had big wins over Adrianne Palicki and Tricia Helfer since the last rankings before dropping the belts to Kaley. Lots of girls will be after Rachel, so the pressure will be on her to stay on top! Tricia Helfer is right behind her with wins over Brooklyn Decker and Taylor Cole, before again dropping the belts to Rachel Nichols. Yvonne Strahovski did not hold the belts in 2012 and since the previous ranking lost to red-hot (in more ways than one) Maria Menounos, but finished the year with an impressive run over Charlize Theron, Jennifer Carpenter and perpetual rival Mary Elizabeth Winstead to end the year on a high note. We suspect she'll be challenging Cuoco soon.

If Yvonne doesn't, stablemate Jessica Biel will, who finished the year on a 3-2 run with losses to Katrina Law and Rachel Nichols, but wins over Kate Beckinsale, Missy Peregrym and Jennifer Garner, in Garner's farewell match. Jessica can't be happy about Kaley's current position atop the lightweight division. Adrianne Palicki is still one of the best lightweights in the division, but ended the year with losses to Rhona Mitra and Rachel Nichols after a big win over Missy Peregrym, which was one of the best of the year. Appearing for the first time on our lists is Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who has had a great 2012 and finished off the year with wins over girls like Joanne Kelly, Krista Allen, Serinda Swan and Milla Jovovich, with several BBU wins too. Only a loss to rival Yvonne Strahovski keeps her from being ranked higher.

Missy Peregrym has had a very active, though not always successful time here at the lightweight division. Missy is .500 since our last rankings, with losses to Adrianne Palicki, Jessica Biel, Katrina Law and Jessica Biel, all of whom are ranked. With the exception of Katrina Law, who is a welterweight. However, Missy has wins over Charlotte Sullivan, Rachel Skarsten, but most impressively over Jennifer Lawrence and Ali Larter, which gives us hope for Missy's future at lightweight. Maria Menounos has been on fire since sending Laura Vandervoort down to the bantamweight division (something bantams must hate Maria for), winning over Katie Holmes, Kelly Brook and Yvonne Strahovski. Maria is a new addition to our rankings, but if she continues this level of success, she'll be here for some time to come!

Gemma Arterton has gone 2-1 since our last rankings, with wins over Olga Kurylenko and Marion Cottiliard, but lost to Adriana Lima. Taylor Cole remains on our list since her only loss was to current champion Tricia Helfer but that was also her only match. If Taylor wishes to stay ranked, she'll need to be more active and of course, more successful! We believe Taylor Cole has all the tools to remain on this list and get back to the top.

It is with genuine regret and sadness that we drop Erica Durance and Ali Larter off of the top 10 list at this time. Erica Durance did not compete at all during this stretch and her last match was in March. Erica has had challenges, but has elected not to compete. We hope that'll change in 2013. Ali Larter had only one match in 2012 and that was a loss to Missy Peregrym. We will say that Ali looked great in the match overall, but needs to be more active to stay ranked. We hope to see them both back on the list soon.

Girls such as Jennifer Lawrence, Brooklyn Decker, Joanne Kelly, Rhona Mitra, Holly Valance and Anna Torv could move up in the future.

Charlize Theron remains removed from our rankings because she is currently competing at welter. If she returns to compete at light, we will have to examine and adjust accordingly.
