BEFORE: "You know, she's an energetic pressure fighter," Ksenia says of Lucy in prefight. "She's plucky and brave - always trying to close and bang...but she's hittable, and doesn't have a whole lot of technique. I see her taking shots to land her own; spending tons of energy to get her way...she's just really inefficient in what she does. I'm better than her in terms of my skills. Once I've broken her spirit, it'll just be a good fighter taking apart a bad fighter, and her brawling stuff won't matter."

Hale excited as always: defeat apparently hasn't diminished this pretty little beauty's thirst for combat. "I'm learning every time out," Hale chirps at podium. "I've come close in a couple of fights - I've sustained the attack on girls, but I haven't broken them down yet...that's the part that will change against Ksenia. She's clever, but she's very thin: I KNOW if I get to her ribcage, she'll hurt. Once she's hurt? Anything can happen!"

During R1: Lucy steamin' in...Ksenia using her legs to manage pressure. Solo loping back out of range; turning to walk around; pinging out elastic one-twos to keep Hale flinching/blocking. Lucy bludgeoning her way inside at times, but Ksenia able to wriggle away, reset behind her jab and slinging right hands to restore a general sense of order and ring-command. Neither lass hurt - Lucy huffing and puffing with little effective production to show for it; Ksenia feather-fisted, but scrubbing Lucy's face, turning her, managing her for points.

R2: Lucy landing large early - beating the Solo flanks via clubbing right/lefts, then bludgeoning her right hands about the head and shoulder as Solo's covering up/circling to her right. Bendy bobbing and torso movement from Ksenia has Lucy swishing air through middle minute...attacking Solo like punching a rubber band for Hale here. Down the stretch - pinging jab from Ksenia finds Lucy's face, stalling her approach: swinging wide-right with a straight arm delivery claps at Lucy's left ear as Ksenia plays lion-tamer late.

R3: Similar stuff - Lucy bulling forward all "I'm strong" - her whole method just to get close/punch torso. Ksenia all sinewy legs and bendy back - swiveling around her foe while changing levels; constantly pinging out jabs and right hands, tapping Lucy onto the defensive. Hale misses often lead to cutey-pie roll-counter scoring blows for Ksenia...Solo landing her right hand directly on jaw or pate - moving Lucy's head though not hurting her in these sequences. More points for Solo through 3: Lucy working hard, but just can't get on top.

R4: Solo fading pressure, luring Lucy forward as Hale cooperates like a pretty little bulldozer. Easy to touch-and-sidestep...Solo keeping her back clear of ropes, slowly imposing turning-battle on Lucy midring. Midway through - Solo's cutey-pie moves have Lucy frowning and reluctant to commit...Ksenia starts dictating. Solo flat footed, moving her hands palm-out in the air...she'll suddenly bat that sweeping wide right straight-arm upside Lucy's head, then quick-jab her chest or mouth, then slap-hook Lucy's cheek while Hale's staring in confusion. Ksenia getting her willowy back into those sweeping right hands to head now - putting Lucy wobbly-butt; punching her off-line...Hale baby-stepping around as she's clobbered about, starting to look grumpy and harassed. Solo workin' it like a little champ - pinging left jabs; slapping left hooks; sweeping rights to ear...she's got Lucy staggering, sniveling through 4.

R5: Ksenia having fun with her legs now - loping along the perimeter with her hands in the air like she's playing "tag" with Lucy, and Lucy is "it". Hale frowning, frustrated - she just can't get a lock on Solo, and the harder she tries, the more she's stumbling forward on the over-commitment, leading to pinging one-two counters from Ksenia. Solo continuing to wallop away with that batting right hand up top - often starting the punch from her waist, with the palm up - really chopping it to jaw. Pesky jabs complement the right hands, preventing Hale from answering immediately because of the glove-in-face distraction. 5 rounds for Solo: Lucy losing the fight of a thousand cuts.

R6: Lucy makes one adjustment - issuing a stubby-jab on approach...this stops her from being potshotted, allowing her to get to ribs and work. Hale thumping dutifully to slender chassis; Ksenia absorbing, then loping away...Lucy walking her girl down - sometimes at a brisk canter as Solo's hopping the perimeter. Midway through, Ksenia attempting to slug for respect: she bats a flurry of lefts and rights against Lucy's crouching earmuff; Hale rides it out, then; LEAPING HOOK, LUCY HALE! Lucy getting it Dani Fishel style - jumping out of her crouch to label Ksenia after the Solo flurry...Ksenia reels backwards into ropes all wide eyed: she's hurt and Lucy pours in! BEATDOWN! Hale on Solo violence as Lucy squares away, issues chugging shove-n'-slug...KSENIA TAKES A KNEE! Solo mouthbreathing, ass-kicked but still alert: veteran move buys her an 8 count as Lucy's champing at the bit. Upon resumption, Hale charges right back - getting headlocked as Ksenia attempts to pull them both through the middle rope for ref's break, but Lucy's too strong! Hale pushing and wriggling her way into the clear - her face on Ksenia's chest while hands pump hup-hup to tummy! Solo groaning, sitting butt-in-ropes...her arms drape around Lucy's shoulders as Hale thumps up-torso with both hands, beating the breath from slender limbs then CASHING IN CHIN! Solo's head bouncing around from Lucy's rising left/right barrage...KSENIA'S DOWN! Solo's legs giving way this time, dropping her into a deep squat on her haunches, forehead-and-elbows on canvas. Hale SEETHING - pushing against ref as he's bodying her back...Solo beats the count shabby as Lucy records a rowdy 10-7!

R7: Not the same Ksenia...she's stiff-legged, still hurting...she shows a face-in-gloves peek-a-boo look as Hale goes to work. Lucy all furious-faced - punching right hands straight into Ksenia's guard, then hopping in to hook her right ear...repetitive hooks upside the head finally destabilize Solo, sending her sputtering along the aprons. Lucy after Ksenia like a frisky puppy, jumping in punches off the hop, pursuing a reeling Solo corner to corner along ropes. Ksenia glassy-eyed, legs frequently buckling beneath her, spilling her to corners...Hale none-too-accurate but the sheer frisky volume having a demoralizing effect. Down the stretch, Solo stationary, legs in A-frame, butt-in ropes...she's bobbing up and down at the waist, face exhausted, hands disorganized...Lucy bares her fangs, squares away and starts stampin' torso via straight, palm-down, stubby lefts and rights! Shocking barrage has Solo's head lolling back and forth; her legs quit, pitching her rump-high to knees and elbows...ref has to body seething little Hale back again as Lucy wants even more Ksenia.

During the break: Solo's corner thinking about stopping the contest...Ksenia over-rules them.

R8: Solo grimly brave off her stool, but her legs're gone...she takes 2 steps out of her corner before she starts listing to her right, staggering sideways into ropes as Lucy's barreling in! Hale pinning her ears back and slugging for glory - compact little body all a-jiggle with slugging fury. Ksenia so sleepy at this point - lips parted in pout, lashes batting...she's pushing out weak, tepid punches to chest as Hale's bashing away to head...Solo rocked into ropes, staring...she turns to her right and staggers on accordion-legs back into her corner where she goes to her knees - Hale in hot, free-swinging pursuit. Solo climbing the ropes, but she's out on her feet: ref waves it off at 10 as poor Ksenia's got nothing left. TKO8 Lucy Hale in come from behind fashion!

AFter: For 5 rounds, Ksenia made good on her promise to outclass Lucy, but Hale's stubborn persistence finally rewarded tonight as she overhauls Solo in the end. "I made her wilt!" An exuberant Hale gushes in postfight. "I pounded her body; I made her legs quit, then I just cleaned up on her! I can't even tell you guys how good it feels to stop a girl. I LOVE finishing fights...just the look in her glassy eyes as my punches were using up her last reserves...it's the best! That's one for me guys: you better get used to it, 'cause I'm only gonna get better from here!"
