These two flyweights are ambitious, and both feel capable of beating Emily Atack to take the BBU flyweight belt.

Mikie is undefeated in BBU after three fights, the model looking hot in a silver bikini tonight, soon joined by Penny, also undefeated, and the current ACB flyweight champion, the dancer just as hot in her green and gold bikini.

Round 1

Mikie’s a compact fighter, and she’s taking Penny on at close quarters, touching the older girl up inside, her gloves slapping into Australian skin, and she’s quick to push Penny back towards the ropes, from where the dancer counter punches hard, and tags Mikie. The Japanese girl is hurt, staggers a little, gets tagged again with a great left hook, and sits down! Hara’s on her feet at 6, but she’s still a little dazed, and she’s still trying to mix it with Higgs, who uses her reach advantage well, and she’s controlling Mikie, pushing the model around, then mopping her up every time she comes into range, and the Japanese girl’s cornermen are very keen to get hold of their girl between rounds.

Round 2

Penny comes off her stool looking good, keen to smack her jab into Mikie’s advancing face, but the model’s far more mobile this time around, sidestepping the taller girl, getting inside her lead, and she’s hitting Penny with some choice hooks to the body. Higgs is doing what she can to stay clear of Hara, but the younger girl seems quicker, moves well, and she’s hurting Penny with these body punches. Penny manages to get half a yard of space, and she wipes punches into Mikie from there, wobbles her again, but loses balance as she goes for a clubbing hook, and finds herself taking a firm smack in the mouth, followed by a blast to her ribs, ending the round in pain against the ropes.

Round 3

Penny looks uncertain, but Mikie’s ready for more action, and she again avoids Higgs’ early advances from distance, gets inside the taller girl and gives her body some punishment again. Hara’s putting a lot of effort into her work, really working on the dancer in close, and she’s rewarded as she hears the gasps of pain puffing from Higgs’ lips, then she sends her backwards with an uppercut, sneaks a right hook flush on her eye – and cuts her left eyebrow open! Higgs reels away, and she’ll have to work hard to protect that, with Hara again laying into her flanks with heavy hooks, giving her a sharp one-two to the face as the round draws to a close, and Penny’s looking very much the worse for wear.

Round 4

With the bleeding staunched, Penny takes the fight to Mikie again, and she bops the model’s head backwards with a couple of good jabs. Hara licks her lips, then bounces back inside the Aussie’s guard, the older girl failing to stop her from landing to her long body again, then in goes that uppercut, Penny’s legs disobeying her as they lurch sideways, a lovely right hook finds her jaw, and down goes Penny Higgs! Her face is streaked with blood again when she rises at 7, and a couple more firm right hooks do nothing to help her, then she gets battered to the body again, but she’s not going down, and she does all she can to frustrate Mikie, the model looking irritated at the bell.

Round 5

This time Mikie doesn’t wait for Penny at all, she just hammers into the dancer from the start and gets her moving backwards, slips a couple more shots onto that damaged eye to reopen the cut, then whaps punches into her body again. Penny’s wilting by the second, but she refuses to give, and she’s managing to hold on in there, clinching Mikie when she can, just doing her best not to get hit to her split left eye, then she counter attacks, landing some good punches to Mikie’s face, but she can’t stop punches she can’t see coming, and the model’s right glove is doing a real job on her eye, which is almost closed, and the blood just dribbles down her face.

Round 6

Mikie clearly wants to finish Penny off in style, and she takes the girl on toe to toe in the centre of the ring – but this might give the dancer some scope to use her physical advantages, the girl able to pick Mikie off again as she advances, not looking as quick on her feet now, giving ground, tiring, and for the first time since round 1, she’s looking vulnerable. Hara gets in close, wants to clinch, but Higgs pings her with a right hook from waist height that smacks into the model’s mouth, then with two solid straight left jabs – still Mike’s trying to attack, but she’s taking punishment now, looking frustrated, and beginning to dribble a little blood of her own from the nostrils as Higgs finds her target throughout the three minutes.

Round 7

Boyh girls are tired, but for different reasons, and Penny’s digging deep here, getting on her toes to extend her height advantage, and she’s really getting through to Mikie, the model looking concerned as she fails to stop those jabs from whipping past her defensive gloves. Higgs moves Hara backwards, pumps two, three jabs forwards and into her face, but misses with her attempted hooks, and takes punishment to her body, grunting and backing off. Mikie doesn’t take the fight back to Penny, waits for the dancer to come to her – and she does – Higgs pops Hara’s head back, and again, goes for the hook, and misses again! Hara doesn’t, though, and she whips a right hook smack onto Penny’s split eyebrow, turns her and cracks her in the ribs and belly with a great two-fisted attack, and the bell rings with the model pasting the dancer with all she’s got.

Round 8

Penny comes out fairly sharply again, but Mikie’s inside her reach again, and that uppercut of hers does it’s job, smacks into Penny’s mouth, and drops her to her knees. Penny takes an 8 count, convinces the referee she’s okay, but she really isn’t fooling anyone, and Mikie gives her hell on the ropes, first the body, then two crashing hooks to her face, and now her right eye’s cut as well – it’s over!

Result: Mikie Hara stopped Penny Higgs in round 8.

That was brutal – but did it prove who is the better girl? If Penny’s eye hadn’t split so early that result might have been very different.
