After an extended delay following the Jorgie Porter vs Ola Jordan fight it's finally time for Cheryl Cole to enter the ring and as usually she looks fired up and hell bent on destroying her rival, Tina O'Brien (Fight Club UK). With the Manchester Arena audience openly disdain towards Newcastle-based Cole, it's the curly haired blonde O'Brien - born on the suburbs of Manchester - who understandably gets the bigger cheer during the introductions but that only further fuels the singer's anger.

Tina tries to play nice and offers her rival a big smile but Cole refuses to touch gloves and walks back to her corner without even looking at the former Coronation Street actress. Crowd doesn't stop jeering and whistling upon the Geordie brunette but Cheryl does her best to ignore the hostile atmosphere, closes her eyes and listens to last intructions from Kear's Kats coach, Gail Kim. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Tina realizes she's got crowd support and jumps after the Geordie singer jabbing to the body and forcing Cheryl to cover up early. Big hooks go around the elbows and O'Brien scores on the brunette's ribcage, making her wince before she can jump away to safety as Tina misses a hook on the temple and loses balance. No rush from Cole, she circles around her rival and forces Tina to show more aggression, teasing single hand swings around Cheryl's head but fails to connect and Tina drops her arms as both girls seemingly realize this fight won't be decided by a single punch and don't waste precious energy for remainder of the round.

Round 2:
Cheryl still keeps her anger under control but closes the distance and whips overhand jabs on the head, testing Tina's agility. The blonde actress responds with similar effort and both girls crash off the leather early before Cole swings a left hook that catches the local favorite on the temple and stumbles backwards. Cheryl pours in with a sudden charge, jabs to the chest and looks to pierce Tina's mitts with a crafty uppercut but misses and O'Brien counters to the stomach herself, cleans out the brunette's navel and whips an uppercut herself, snaps Cole's head back and lands a left hook on the eye which spins Cheryl back to the ropes. Crowd goes wild and Cole covers up as Tina slams a series across her mitts but she can't break through them and settles for a clinch when the Geordie wraps her arms around her neck. Tina sends some low jabs on the ribcage but Cheryl blocks her off with the forearms and leans on her to see out the round with the noise inside the Arena getting up a notch during the interval.

Round 3:
Coach Gail Kim still tries to control Cheryl's potential snap and the brunette takes it relatively easy again at the start of the third with O'Brien showing more aggression but she can't break through the singer's guard after closing the distance and peppers the gloves fruitlessly for most of the opening minute. Cole weaves around her and responds with single strikes but lacks success either and both girls settle for a clinch in the middle of the ring before Tina whacks Cheryl on the ribs and eats a right hook on the eye in response, getting rattled in the proccess. Cole piles in with more jabs on the face and snaps the blonde's head back but Tina manages to leap into safety as Cheryl's footwork lets her down and fails to close the actress along the ropes. Tina ducks under a flying hook, slams Cheryl on the ribs and clinches her around the left arm. Brief wrestling occurs before Tina pushes her opponent to the ropes but before referee can separate them, the bell brings the round to a close first.

Round 4:
Cole gets more animated in her corner talking to Gail Kim with O'Brien staring at her from the opposite end. Tina's up for the early charge again but misses a hook on the head and allows the Geordie girl to counter her on the midsection which brings success for Cheryl who slams a series on the ribs, bounces off the rack and slices through the arms. Couple of strong uppercuts crash off Tina's chin and she drops her arms, unable to protect herself, loses her footing and gets nailed by an overhand left on the nose WHICH SENDS HER CRASHING HARD ON THE BACKSIDE as the Manchester crowd goes silent. Another quick and effective action from the Kear's Kats' member and Cheryl shouts at the blonde in intimidating fashion despite not having done much on the night beforehand. Tina is up on her feet at six though, indicates she slipped on a wet patch but Cole only gives her a telling smile and goes after her straight away! O'Brien swings in response, beats Cole for pace by a whisher and nails the brunette on the nose which causes the Georgie hook to go sky high and Cheryl's rocked out of nowhere, bends forward and rolls down the curtians with her arms as Tina peppers her from over the top, bounces off the cheeks and forces to cover up as Cheryl leaps back, sags on the ropes and eats unexpected punishment from Tina who throws a flurry of shots on the body and ribcage but can't land anything on the head and settles for a late clinch much to everyone's relief. Both corners look unhappy after that round despite Cole scoring a great knockdown.

Round 5:
Cheryl's had enough of Gail Kim's advice for the time being and storms out of her stool to start the fifth with Tina answering the call in similar fashion and a trademark flyweight punchfest finally ensues in the middle of the ring. Cheryl targets the head, goes around the high guard and slams a left hook on the temple, roots the blonde to the spot and scores another hook on the temple from the other side. O'Brien tries to respond from behind the guard but can't match Cole's agility and misses the flesh alltogether with Cheryl's high-tempo jabbing allowing her to split the mitts and land more shots on the face. Tina's head snaps back and she developes some concerning bruises on her cheeks as the Geordie singer clearly gets the better of the exchange and forces the blonde to jump back. O'Brien dances around her rival, tries to maintain mid-range but Cole thinks otherwise and walks the actress down across the canvas, keeps her honest with more menacing hooks around the head but Tina survives the round albeit looking puzzled and unable to match the brunette's improved - and controlled - aggression.

Round 6:
Crowd isn't so loud anymore after O'Brien's struggles in that previous round and there's a visible change in the blonde's tactics as well with Tina biding her time along the ropes and perhaps teasing Cole into a suicidal attack. But the singer is more experienced of the two and sports a devlisih smile while closing down on the actress and throwing a jabbing combo on the head which puts the blonde on the back foot early. Tina responds with a low attack on the ribs but doesn't impress the singer all that much and gets pushed back to the ropes by another high-tempo effort from Cole. The Geordie girl slams a series across the face and forces Tina to cover up, leaving her exposed on the tummy, right hand on the navel makes the local favorite moan in pain, a double combo on the ribcage bends her to the side and Cole traps the aching opponent on the ropes for good late in the going. Tina just leans back on the ropes and protects her face which allows the brunette to score easy punches on the midsection but that's not good enough for Cheryl who tries to pierce the mitts anyway and she manages to land one more jab on the chin just before the bell as Tina appears to be losing strenght quickly now which affects her performance.

Round 7:
Cole's outworked her opponent in the past couple of rounds and she gives O'Brien more misery with some accurate jabs at the start of the eight, slams a series on the chest, ducks under a wayward hook and lands a left uppercut on the jaw which makes the blonde scowl in pain; more hooks over the top nail the aching actress on the mouth and she spins back to the ropes with Cheryl right after her and throwing heavy leather on the body. O'Brien is stranded on the ropes, just covers up and weaves around on her feet as Cole rips through her mitts and slams more jabs on the mouth. Oh! Tina's eyes fade into a mist and she sinks on her knees as the Geordie brunette slices her on the eye, right hook on the nose and O'BRIEN SLIDES DOWN ON HER BACKSIDE along the corner post. Manchester crowd goes silent and unlike the fourth, Tina struggles to get up quickly, manages to beat the count at eight but her face is quite swollen already and the eyes don't show much venom anymore. Cole bunny hops around her and is eager to continue with the action. Fight on! Tina tries to tame the barrage by sending more hooks but is slow in execution and easy for the singer to avoid, counter keeps O'Brien pinned on the ropes as Cheryl whacks her on the chin, right hook on the eye and a huge lump bursts open under the blonde's eyes which makes her wince in pain. Cole keeps raining punches to the head as O'Brien's arms drop to the side and she's pummelled around in the corner offering no response. Ref doesn't want to stop the fight though and poor Tina gets hammered out of her senses in the last twenty seconds before the bell rescues her in the very last moment but Cheryl raises both her arms in the air and the blonde can't make it back to her corner without assistance from her cornermen. The fat lady is about to sing here in Manchester!

Round 8:
Tina's visibly affected by the heavy punishment she took from Cheryl in the previous round but bravely makes it out for the eight round only to walk into a right hook on the eye just seconds in; Cole shows no sympathy, whips a series on the ribcage, shatters the guard with overhand jabs and snaps the blonde's head back again and again... Tina lands on the ropes looking dazed and roughed up but there's more from the singer... right hand on the chin, left on the mouth and O'Brien's knocked out on her feet! Left uppercut on the chin follows, a mercy shot from the Geordie after a tremendous beatdown in the last few minutes finally reaches it's conclussion. Tina goes down on her knees and falls face-first on the canvas moments later with her arms spread to each side. That's it! She's unconscious and the ref finally calls for the stretcher! KO R8 Cheryl Cole!!!

Post-fight:
Crowd is equally upset over Cheryl's victory as well as concerned about Tina's state and unfortunately for the whole of Manchester, the blonde actress is stretched away to the locker room while Cole unties her ponytail, brushes her hair with her hands and sports that trademark smile which only incurrs more wrath from the audience. BBU TV's Denise van Outen is quick to ask the brunette and her coach Gail Kim about what happened in the ring just moments before:

"Well, Denise", Cheryl answers, "My coach had this idea of me controlling my anger which would improve my performance and perhaps emulate Jorgie Porter's results. Well, it was fun 'til it lasted but at the end of the day I just HAD to pummel that blonde whore out of her senses. Jorgie's a good friend.. sort of... but everyone knows I'm the biggest name among the Kats! I don't care what Jorgie does as long as I keep putting 'em wannabes where they belong. Plus Jorgie owes me a dinner after I had to save her ass when she got sucker punched by that Polish dancer. Look at the crowd, they're not throwing beer cans at me! They know who's the superior girl around the place even though Manchester isn't best known for their IQs..."

Just as the first beer can lands upon Cheryl's feet, coach Gail Kim shoves Denise van Outen away and escorts her girl back to the locker room: "We've had enough for the night. Two fights, two wins. That's ALL we came here for! Keep the cans for yourself, Denise!"

Final result: Cheryl Cole def. Tina O'Brien KO8.
