BEFORE:

"The first time," says a hard-eyed Blake, "It was a fight and she won. I expect a fight tonight as well. But, the result will be different."

"Well, she's with HISC now," says Gemma. "And everyone knows how ruthless they are. So, this is a huge fight for her, much more important than it is for me. That's what people think. But, they're wrong. Because Blake has a division all to herself at The Consortium. I share MINE with SIX other girls. This fight is crucial for me. I need a result. And I'm going to get it."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Main event time at Asylum, and that's 'Midnight City' by M83 and here comes the stunning Blake Lively!"

Tess: "Lively representing HISC..."

McCarthy: "I wonder if Lively ever wakes up in the morning and can't remember what stable she's in. Because she's been in about a HUNDRED!"

O'Dell: "Lively into the ring, helped off with the robe to reveal a hunter green number that's got the crowd popping!"

McCarthy: "Not sure why. She's ANOTHER pipe cleaner..."

Tess: "You DO know she's hot enough to have landed Ryan Reynolds, right?"

McCarthy: "Ryan Reynolds? Isn't he, like 80?"

Tess: "And, for those of you who have 'Mac Mixes Up Burt and Ryan Reynolds on your J-Mac Bingo Cards, mark your square..."

O'Dell(sighing): "And that's 'London Calling' by the Clash and here comes 'The Gravesend Gladiator', Gemma Arterton!"

McCarthy: "Wait, Ryan Reynolds wasn't the guy in 'Smokey and the Bandit'?"

O'Dell: "MUST we provide more YouTube material? Gemma into the ring. Helped off with the robe by Jewel and Pink to reveal a violet two-piece that she fills out VERY well. And the ladies just about ready to go here, so let's get some picks. Tess on record as favoring Gemma. What about you, Mac?"

McCarthy: "I agree with Blake that it's going to be a fight, but I agree with Tess on the result. Arterton."

O'Dell: "Let's see if the ladies are right. Gemma out quickly, closing on Lively and going body, hooking away with both hands. Blake ties her up, but Gemma shoves the blonde off and lands a solid combination to the head."

McCarthy: "Lively wants to get some space here. She doesn't want to bang in close with Gemma."

O'Dell: "But Arterton forcing the issue, right in Blake's grill...ROCKS HER WITH A RIGHT HAND! Lively staggered, stumbles back into the ropes...LEFT HOOK AND DOWN SHE GOES!"

McCarthy: "The Cracker Empire even now getting the termination papers ready..."

O'Dell: "Arterton to a neutral corner. Referee's count to five. Six. Seven. Blake pulling herself up on the ropes. Going to take the mandatory. Referee going to let it continue. And on comes Gemma! Arterton blasting away as Blake covers up on the ropes."

McCarthy: "Lively in deep trouble, Jenny. Referee is seconds from stopping this!"

O'Dell: "Blake trying to counter. Gemma suppresses her with another flurry. Lively clinching now. Arterton punches free. Referee looking closely...but there's the bell!"

Tess: "Blake Lively did a great job of hanging on right there. She's down 10-8 for sure, but she lives to fight another round."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second round underway and Gemma boring in, looking for the finisher. Blake backing and circling, trying to get some space. Gemma continues to work forward, crowding the blonde, slugging away...AND DOWN GOES ARTERTON! Lively caught her with a straight right and sent her to the canvas!"

McCarthy: "Great punch by Blake! Set that up perfectly. Walked Gemma right into it!"

O'Dell: "Arterton to her knees at six. Seven. Eight. She beats it, and now it's the brunette taking the mandatory. Referee will allow it to continue and Blake going right to work. Backing up Arterton with that solid left hand, dropping in rights, clearly looking for the off switch...AND DOWN GOES BLAKE!"

McCarthy: "Beautifully timed right hand counter by Gemma!"

O'Dell: "And now it's Lively on the canvas! Referee's spent a lot of time counting already and he's back at it. Five. Six. Seven. Blake to her feet. Takes the eight count and the ref waives Gemma forward. Arterton all OVER the blonde, driving her in full retreat to the ropes and POUNDING away at the body. Blake holding, covering up, but Gemma landing solid leather with both hands."

McCarthy: "Lively right on the edge for the second round in a row!"

O'Dell: "Blake hanging on grimly. Tying up Gemma's arms. Doing just enough offensively to keep the referee at bay. And, for the second round in a row, she survives! There's the bell..."

Tess: "And there's another of those three-point turnarounds. If Gemma doesn't get the knockdown, we're all even. But, as it is, Arterton gets the round 10-9 and now leads 20-17."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "We're into the third round now and Gemma again looking to pressure. Blake circling now behind her left jab. Showing more movement this round, with the feet, head, and body."

McCarthy: "Cracker corner was, no doubt, in her ear between rounds. She needs to box, not slug with this girl. Blake can hit, but trading leather for three minutes a round isn't her victory scenario here."

O'Dell: "Arterton doggedly pursuing, getting to spots and landing. But she's being limited to ones and twos...and mostly ones. Before she can follow up, Blake's not there."

McCarthy: "And Lively's scoring plenty on Gemma's way in. Making use of that length of hers."

O'Dell: "Arterton unhurried. Slowly working forward. She's scoring some. But Blake's carrying the round as we wind down the final seconds."

McCarthy: "Nice slowing of the pace. Good hand and foot speed. Maybe HISC has something in this girl after all."

O'Dell: "There's the bell, and the blonde's won her first round."

Tess: "29-27 through three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Into the fourth now, and Lively back on her horse. Circling right, away from Arterton's power. Staying in open canvas. Not getting cut off. Working the left. Dropping in some rights. Limiting Arterton to single punches."

McCarthy: "I LOVE the way this girl is moving. Very slick. Getting that space she wanted now and making the most of it."

O'Dell: "Certainly is. She's piling up points with good hand and footwork, outboxing Gemma right now."

McCarthy: "Arterton not getting frustrated. Still working hard, but just not able to be as effective on these terms."

O'Dell: "Lively not letting her square anything up. Blake sacrificing some power, no question, but she's outscoring Gemma by doing it."

McCarthy: "And that's the name of the game for the blonde right now."

O'Dell: "And, there's the bell to end the forth, and Blake's back in this thing."

Tess: "I've got it 38-37 now. Nice rally for Lively."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "The fifth round begins as the fourth ended, with Blake Lively turning moving behind her left jab. Gemma trying to close, able to do it on occasion and land a punch or two, but mostly kept out of range."

McCarthy: "Lively piles up points with that jab, then, when Gemma closes, they exchange even and Blake moves away and resets."

Tess: "Are you saying THIS is Lively's victory scenario, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Gold star, Walmart. Gold star."

O'Dell: "Blake getting more and more comfortable now that she's settled into a rhythm. Boxing very cleverly, good, sharp punches, setting them up well. Showing angles."

Tess: "This is impressive stuff from Blake. Wiz says Gemma's as good as anyone he has..."

McCarthy: "I'm going to say this slowly so Weirdo doesn't have to run the video back when he listens to steal more of my ideas. Anna. Torv. Is. Your. Best. Fighter. Give. Her. A. Push. Jack. Ass."

O'Dell: "And, before we can move to the next chapter of 'Management For Dummies', there's the bell ending the fifth, and Lively's out of the hole."

Tess: "47-47 through five."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Into the sixth now, and Lively again on the move. Arterton working out of a half crouch now. Working past Blake's jab and going to work on the body..."

Tess: "Front Street corner was talking about body work during the break. Jewel thought Gemma was doing too much head hunting."

O'Dell: "It's mostly body work now, and the level change is allowing Gemma to close without allowing Blake to score with jabs at range. Arterton banging away inside, but Lively's banging right back. Blake looking to circle to open canvas, but not backing up."

McCarthy: "Good two-way action here. Both girls getting some work done."

O'Dell: "Gemma with a nice combination to the head. Blake circles away behind the left, and Arterton closes again and goes body. Blake responds with a right hand at the bell. Good, close round, but Gemma's, I think."

Tess: "Agreed, Jenny. Which makes it 57-56 through six. Competitive just like last time."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh round underway and Arterton again working her way inside and going body on Lively. Blake slugging back...AND GEMMA ROCKS HER WITH A RIGHT HOOK! Blake wobbled and Arterton letting the hands go!"

McCarthy: "Blake back into survival mode."

O'Dell: "Gemma backs the blonde into the ropes and goes body again. Lively tying up...AND LANDS A SHORT UPPERCUT THAT WOBBLES GEMMA!"

McCarthy: "Nasty little punch from Blake!"

O'Dell: "And now it's Lively going all in, banging away at a retreating Arterton. Gemma covering up as Blake swings away with heavy leather!"

McCarthy: "I'm getting more and more impressed with Lively. What a way to rally back after getting in trouble!"

O'Dell: "And rally is exactly what she's doing. She has Arterton on the ropes again and she's landing some sharp combinations, scoring with both hands. Gemma trying to counter and limit the damage, but Blake in complete control. Arterton's going to survive the round as the final seconds tick away, but Lively wins it to even things up again!"

Tess: "66 all through seven."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Action underway in the eighth and the template has been set. Blake looking to work behind her left hand, Gemma working forward to crowd and bang inside."

McCarthy: "Arterton's a good boxer, but she's changed tactics here to deal with Lively's length."

O'Dell: "Gemma all about pressure. Cutting the ring down and working the body. Blake firing back hard in the exchanges, but she's not able to maintain space or score from range."

McCarthy: "And Gemma's body work may start to pay dividends. Lively's got to be feeling some of that work in her ribs and midsection."

O'Dell: "Gemma working her way upstairs now, scoring to the head in the waning seconds. Blake with a solid right, but Arterton got the better of the exchange, and, as the bell rings, the better of the round."

Tess: "And she's back on the lead, 76-75 with two to go."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "Round nine begins with a spirited exchange! Both girls landing solid sho before Blake breaks it off, circling right. Gemma closing again with a high guard and half crouch, working the midsection and the lats. Blake bangs back, then circles away."

McCarthy: "Gemma really turning up the heat, Jenny."

O'Dell: "Blake punching for respect now, working to keep the brunette off, but Arterton not having it, keeps crowding and getting work done inside."

McCarthy: "And that work's having an effect. Lively beginning to look a little shopworn. Gemma just slowly grinding her down with that body work."

O'Dell: "Blake still competing hard, though. Making Arterton eat leather in the exchanges. But it's Gemma controlling tempo and dictating terms as the bell rings to end the ninth."

Tess: "And Mac and I have Gemma up 86-84, meaning Blake needs something big in round ten..."

McCarthy: "But, several of these rounds have been close. If I were Gemma, I'd go all out to win this last round."

ROUND TEN:

O'Dell: "Tenth and presumably final underway. First fight to get this far tonight and Lively not planning to let it go farther! Blake with a big right...and another! Blake CLANGING heavy leather home. Catching Gemma on the way in!"

McCarthy: "Gemma walking through it and going to work, hammering away at the body. Both girls getting off lusty!"

O'Dell: "After nine plus rounds, Lively and Arterton still going after one another, exchanging leather toe to toe! Crowd loving it and ARTERTON ROCKS LIVELY! Now it's Gemma getting off! Backing Blake into the ropes and letting the hands go!"

McCarthy: "Gemma's not thinking points now, she's thinking KO..."

O'Dell: "But Lively isn't punking! Blake firing back with some clean shots of her own, and Gemma responds with a big left-right!"

Tess: "Crowd on its feet, Jenny!"

O'Dell: "And, amazingly, both fighters still on THEIR feet as another big exchange sends sweat flying! Gemma rocks Blake again with a vicious right and there's the bell!"

McCarthy: "Oh, for..."

O'Dell: "And there's one of those hugs Mac loves so much, but I think it's warranted here. These two ladies left it all in the ring and put on quite a show."

Tess: "But it was Gemma who finished strong, taking the last three rounds on my card..."

O'Dell: "And the judges agree with you. Decision being announced and your winner by UD10 is 'The Gravesend Gladiator', Gemma Arterton!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Gemma Arterton, and, Gemma, it was a back and forth battle tonight..."

Gemma: "She gave me trouble, no doubt, and I expected that. She gave me trouble the first time, too. But, I got the job done then, and I got it done tonight. Because that's what I do, Tess. I don't make a lot of noise, and I don't come down to a bloody laser show. But, I've beaten more quality fighters than any lightweight at Front Street. And there's a reason for that."
