Kat Graham (Vampire Diaries) versus Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars)

Fight #2

Before: It's a match between two very determined flyweights in this first match between primary cast members of their respective shows. Lucy has been one of the faces of Pretty Little Punchers from the start and has been racking up some wins this year to gain some momentum coming into this contest. Kat Graham similarly has had a rough start to her career, but had recently scored her first career win and management with Front Street Boxing. So, both of them were definitely looking forward to moving their careers, stables and television shows in the right direction. With that, it's more mutual determination rather than hatred that drives the two of them going in.

“Nobody is ever going to accuse me of being the weak link here on our cast!” Kat declares coolly, “I'm going to score a win here tonight and build my career in the process. Sorry that it's going to just stop any streak of Lucy's in its tracks when I knock her out cold, but that's just the way it is! This is my first fight for my new stable and for my tv show, so there is no way I'm going to disappoint. The disappointed one is going to be Lucy!” Lucy similarly confident in her pre-fight discussions, “We here with the Pretty Little Liars don't even have a weak link and if we did, it certainly wouldn't be me! I'm on a roll right now and I'm going to run over Kat Graham in the process! We are going to win tonight and I'm going to be part of that! Sorry, Kat, but you're in serious trouble if you think you're going to be able to beat me! Tonight, you're just going to get beat down by a Hale Storm!!”

Torrey Devitto unable to referee this particular match as she is still recovering from her contest with Lauren Cohan, but CW actress Jessica Lucas willing to step in to provide officiating. Both sides take issue with this as Pretty Little Liars refuse to trust anybody from the CW, while Kat and Nina have had their own personal issues with Jessica “super-cute” Lucas in the past. However, while complaints from both rosters are heard, Lucas is apparently able to be convincing to those in charge of her ability to be neutral as she steps out in a black-and-white striped tanktop and short shorts at the start of the contest to officiate.

R1: Graham using her dancer's agility for early success as she comes out firing with palm-down hooks and quick speedy jabs, beating Hale to the punch in each of their exchanges. Hale forced to backpedal initially, fighting back with plucky bursts of offense to keep herself from getting knocked down. Kat's eyes are flashing, however, eager to display good footwork as she moves limber around the ring and keeps ringing Hale up across her cheek to rock her backwards. Kat slipping in some hooks to body and jabs towards her foe's chest to bounce her backwards towards the ropes. Hale taking her pasting like a champ, however, keeping herself from suffering too much hurt as the bell rings and Kat beams heading back to her corner with a big lead after one with the shutout.

R2: Hale coming forward with surprising aggression as Kat looks to pick up where she left off last round, eager to ring Lucy up via hooks once more. But, Hale keeping herself clear of the ropes and firing out quick jabs of her own to hammer up towards Graham's head. Hale pouncing forward, just sending her arms out in whirling fashion towards Kat's head, battering her across her shoulders and stuffing shots down into her tummy. The up-tempo attack has Graham reeling as she staggers backwards and Hale presses her advantage, sweeping her gloves up top to smack into Kat's cheek and suddenly, KAT IS DOWN!! Kat spills to her back along the sand in the second minute, groaning out as she rolls to all fours. Struggling to rise back up to her feet as she gets up relatively quickly, but Hale slamming away for glory. Managing to shove Kat back against the ropes, she lathers her with repeated hooks that aim towards Graham's upper body. Lucy managing a shutout as she leaves Kat slumped against the ropes, covering up as the ref pulls Hale off, smiling broadly as she heads back to her corner.

R3: Both fighters swarm out from their respective corners, eager to gain an advantage after two offensive rounds and looking like more of the same here. It's a furious flyweight exchange filled with crowd-pleasing hup-hup as they meet in the middle of the ring, pounding away at each other in a phone booth. Neither of them backing down as Kat works her attack behind palm-down hooks towards Hale's upper body while Lucy is favoring speedy jabs towards Graham's ribs, tummy and torso. Circling around each other in the ring, ocassionally bumping shoulders to create some room, but still firing away in rapid fashion throughout the round. Towards the end of the round, Kat's constant pressure up top finally breaks through as one of her hooks manages to smack Hale across the cheek and the brunette staggers to the side. Kat seizes advantage, catching Lucy with a few more shots across her chest and head to steal the round late.

R4: Hale furious about being caught late and acts like it this round as she surges out from her corner, bouncing towards Kat before she can even make it out of her corner. Kat staggers along the ropes, keeping up her guard as Hale's gloves fly forward in a frenzy, forcing her to play defense. Lucy getting off and scoring at will, just slamming in towards Kat's tummy, head and shoulders. Switching up top and down below, forcing Graham to guess where the next attack is coming from as she covers up on the ropes. Hale pounds away for a clean shutout this time around as Graham tries to use her dancer's legs to slide away from the ropes, but Lucy just too aggressive this round.

R5: Kat pounces forward from her corner to return the favor, seeking to trap Lucy along the ropes and tagging her up top. Graham firing away with some scrubbing hooks along her chest and jabs towards her face to hurt Hale early as Hale slumps back against the ropes in the first minute under Kat's furious assault. Keeping her guard up though and fighting well behind her gloves, pushing off of the ropes and slugging hard to force Kat to retreat slightly towards the center of the ring in the second minute as the two trade shots in the middle of the ring. Lucy's determination shining through this round as she displays good footwork, sliding away from Graham's jabs and ringing her up along her tummy with some short uppercuts. Charging forward as she hammers along Kat's head and shoulders, rocking her foe late in the round to send her wobbly-butt. It's a crazy slugging round between the two as both girls head back to their corners, exhausted, as refs declare this round a draw.

R6: It's been a close match between the two thus far and this round is no exception as the two charge right at each other, with Hale catching Kat close to the ropes. Kat using her agility to slip away from the ropes but Lucy in hot pursuit as she tries to rip Graham with some hooks towards her tummy and torso. Graham keeping her guard up initially, then ripping at Lucy in response with some hard shots along her head and pounding away with some hooks towards her tummy. Those palm-down hooks really hitting their target along Hale's body, but Lucy retaliating just as fiercely with those whirling jabs that rock along Kat's torso and tummy. Doubling her foe over, Lucy then follows up to ring up her tawny-skinned opponent with some clean hooks to cheek and speedy hooks that hammer into her ribs. That offense in the final minute allows Hale to edge out her opponent to take the round.

R7: Hale resuming her up-tempo offense this round, coming out behind the jab as she charges across the ring to try to smother Kat against the ropes. Kat acting hurt after last round, keeping up her guard and sponging up punishment from Lucy, who is just pouring in through any openings in her defense. Squaring away along the ropes, Hale is slugging to glory as she pumps her fist down into tummy, then when Kat goes to cover up down low, it's a speedy barrage of right and left shots across her face. Scrubbing across Graham's dazed features,Lucy batters Kat along the ropes from bell to bell in a stunning shutout. By the end of the round, the ref has to pull Hale off of a defensive Kat, who is covering up along the ropes and Hale is chesting up against Graham in an impressive round for the PLL star. Graham staggers to her corner, falling down into her stool as Nina Dobrev gives her co-star and friend some advice and encouragement in between rounds, obviously a little concerned. On the other side of the ring, Hale is exchanging high fives with her own co-star in Ashley Benson, looking over confidently.

R8: Whatever Nina said in the corner appears to have motivated Kat as she charges right out of the gate behind those short, swift jabs down low and strong right hook up top. Hale staggering back under the early onslaught towards the ropes, but is caught by a right hook that catches her cleanly up top and HALE IS DOWN! Hale crashing to her side perpendicular to the ropes as Jessica Lucas intervenes, ordering Graham back to a neutral corner. Graham and Lucas exchange a cool stare before Kat does, then Lucas starts the count, ignoring Dobrev's shouting. Lucy managing to rise to her feet in relatively quick fashion, but unable to get any offense off once she does. Kat just shoving her back to the ropes as Lucy is butt-in-ropes, trying to keep her gloves up as Kat stuffs repeated shots towards Lucy's torso. Kat hooking down towards tummy and ribs – occasionally alternating up top to keep Lucy off guard – as she romps to a shutout. It's a good round for Kat as it appeared the match was slipping away from her, but recovers with a knockdown of her own and gets back into the contest with a big 10-8 round.

R9: Hale appears to have been hurt last round as she comes out slow and Kat is quick to take advantage of it. Ragdolling Hale backwards towards the ropes, she then jumps forward and keeps hammering away towards Lucy's belly. Lucy butt-in-ropes once again, forced to slump down against them and cover up. Hale covering up earmuff as Kat switches her focus up top to try to ring Hale up across her upper chest, head and shoulders. Kat just squaring up now as Lucy tries to twist away from the ropes or clinch, but Kat preventing any escape this time around as she capitalizes on Hale's hurt and keeps pounding away in a vicious shutout. Graham ends the round by stuffing shots down into Lucy's tummy as Hale is face-in-gloves and Lucas has to body Graham backwards, almost tossing her down into the sand. Dobrev comes in hot as the Jessica gives her a firm talking-to and Kat grins, as it's her turn to exchange high fives with Nina at the end of the round. Benson talking to Lucy as she makes her way back to her stool, trying to provide some advice and uplifting suggestions for a pivotal final round.

R10: Lucy proving plucky in this final round as she battles back, barreling across the ring and slugging at Graham from the moment the bell rings. Kat fights back with aggression of her own, knowing how important this round is in such a close match between them. Hale charging in hot, swinging wildly towards Graham's head, pounding away at her head and shoulders to force Kat to cover up. Kat's eyes flash with anger, pounding away at Hale's tummy and ribs, clipping her across the cheek to try to force her backwards. But, Lucy is a little force of nature – a Hale-Storm as she mentioned earlier – and now, Kat has to try to weather the storm. Kat firing off some of those palm-down hooks that worked early in the match, but Lucy just batters her back along the ropes with some repeated but effective hooks towards Graham's head. Ringing her up top, Hale leaps forward to put some more power behind those hooks in devastating fashion and it's a close one, but Lucy takes the round in a desperate 10th!! What a wild round and the judges take a moment to score it as both fighters head back to their corners, getting some inspiration and confidence from their co-stars. Results come back and it's a DRAW! Although both of their respective costars in their corners have had some fantastic motivational words to spur these fighters on, neither Lucy or Kat even look in their direction once asked about overtime. No question that this one is going to overtime, with standard overtime protocol in place - two rounds needed to win it!

R11: Graham comes out fighting fierce, putting out a stiff jab to push Hale backwards along the ropes. Hale fighting well off of the ropes, hopping forward and hammering at Kat's torso to keep herself from getting trapped. Hale is unable, however, to prevent herself from getting rocked as Kat catches her with an overhand right hook that smacks into her cheek and a follow-up left uppercut to her belly has Hale momentarily wobbly-butt. Hale is dazed and Kat keeps up the pressure, pouring forward with a display of smart boxing after that. Lucy tries to get in some offense by thumping down towards Kat's torso, but Graham puts a stop to it and punishes Hale along the ropes. Kat posts the shutout to take the lead in overtime as she hopes to finally put a stop to her plucky rival.

R12: Both fighters clearly tired, but keep up the pace of their attacks as the match continues. It is another up tempo round as Hale comes out swinging, just hopping forward to hammer away at Kat. Graham initially backpedals under the shoving and slugging manuevers of Lucy, but then uses her skills and agility to dance her way out of trouble. Baiting Lucy forward, she lets Hale charge forward, then sidesteps her to pound away along her torso. Just springing repeated traps as Lucy keeps charging forward, tagging Kat along her tits, tummy and occasionally catching her across the cheek to daze her. But, Kat getting the better of the exchanging, her mitts crashing forward in stiff jabs to face, right hooks to ribs and slick uppercuts to touch Hale up in this competitive round. It's a narrow win, but a win nonetheless as it's Kat winning the 12th round and the match via UD12!

After: An amazing match between the two ends with a big win in overtime for Kat Graham to put the Vampire Diaries in the lead over the Pretty Little Liars, which is especially concerning as Nina Dobrev is up next which potentially spells more trouble. Lucy is exhausted on her stool, being helped by a supportive Ashley Benson, who hugs and whispers in her friends ear words of reassurance. Across the ring, she glares over at Nina Dobrev, who is looking very confident – almost to the point of smugness. Benson almost storms across the ring towards Nina, but stays to help out Lucy as she blinks back tears of anger for letting this one slip away. In the Vampire Diaries corner, Kat is very exuberant following her huge win to give her show the advantage early on. Kat is clearly worn out from the tough match but is very gracious in her victory, “I'll say that Lucy is a lot tougher than anybody gives her credit for, me included. If there is a weak link in the PLL, it definitely isn't her! That was one of the best matches I've had, but I warned the flyweight division before – once I get on a roll, I am not going to be stopped. I'm going to be like a sassy little avalanche – taking down anybody who gets in my way and I do mean anybody! Watch out now!” Of course, we're certain that everyone will definitely be watching both of these fighters in the future!
