BEFORE: "Jennifer Love and Elisha were life-and-death with each other," Minka recalls in prefight, "but I've always said, and I've always felt, that I'm above the Cuthbert/Hewitt line as far as fighting ability goes. Jen didn't have enough in the end to overcome Elisha...how on Earth does Hewitt expect to take me down? I'm that much better than Cuthbert - the better athlete, actress, and competitor...where is Jen going to get the extra oomph she'll need to push me? She's in great shape, I'll give her that, but it won't be enough. End of the day, I've got the edge on these girls, and I'm gonna use it!"

Hewitt hard-eyed, resolute: she's got her Minka-busting face on at podium. "The thing with Minka is you just have to step to her and hit her hard," Jen relates in rebuttal. "There's no reason to get cute with this girl - she's not as tough as Elisha - and she damn-sure doesn't hit as big...Minka's a girl I can go right at with both hands swingin'. I know the fans are thinking that we look great together and this would be a fantastic rivalry, but the truth is - this won't be a fight; it'll be a punishment. It'll be me stacking Minka up and working her over. That's going to be entertaining as hell, but it's no rivalry. It's me imposing my will and body on another woman until she craters. And knowing Minka, that's not going to take 10 rounds!"

Jen in SHAPE Mag cover bikini - hot pink with jagged white zig-zag lines, with a specially reinforced halter-top designed to take her weight of jug; white gloves; loose light-brown hair in tangly curls. Minka in electric blue bikini top/yellow bottoms; white gloves; long curly ponytail with long-strand bangs bracketing cheekbones.

During R1: Minka purposefully to midring - stepping in with the straight-right lead, punching back Jen's face, then turning over the palm-down hook to chin. Hewitt startled early, giving ground, but a ferocious swinging bombardment off the apron bunches Minka up a minute in! Jen slugging away with thumbside-up lefts and rights - she turns her torso into clout, pounding brown ribs and tummy to take the initiative. Minka grimacing, trying to tie up...Jen bobbing on approach, stepping in and punishing ribs/tummy that same side-to-side walloping action. Ropes: Minka butt-on-cables, forming earmuff...Jen knuckles-up on Minka's guard; hooks Minka's hip/waist; pounds right roundhouses to Minka's left-side lats; scrapes uppercuts from either hand against Minka's defensive front. Bell: Jen pushes off Minka with disdain, marching back all jugs a-jumpin' to her corner with a hard look of supremacy in her eyes.

R2: Jen with the jump - crowding close with dukes up - bumping off with her mitts, then hooking Minka's belly with the thumbside-up delivery. Minka grumpy-pouting, chopping left hands at Jen's jugs, then trying to turn torso-right into tight left hooks to chin. Both girls nice and compact - twisting torso-right to lick left hooks across desired targets, then swinging fat right hands wide to left-side lats. Jen gradually getting the better of Minka - establishing the firmer gut-punch, and by the bell, cleaning up on Minka's breasts via walloping left/rights in the horizontal plane. Minka panting, disheveled, looking all hot and bothered on her stool as seconds wipe her down.

R3: Mink regroups, stepping in that stiff, straight right lead off the shoulder, her buttocks shuddering side to side as she plants hard on that lead (left) leg. Jen shelled - catching stubby straight rights on face or breasts...she wobbles out of orbit early as Minka pounds away righty-only at first, then mixes in the clean-up hooks to good effect. JENNIFER'S HURT! Hewitt staring, stumbling about wobbly-butt...Minka all disciplined and organized - dukes at her mouth, eyes wide as she stalks Jen, then steps in that sturdy lead right hand, doubling or tripling it, then hooking Jen's chin when she's loosened up. Hewitt battered about the ring, but curvy legs/strong glutes holding her up despite Minka's resolute attack. Down the stretch, Jen punched to ropes...Minka crowds close, left hand cupping Jen's right shoulder, slumping her forward for PUMPING RIGHT FOREARMS TO RACK! Heartless stuff from a Minka Kelly determined to win...Jen in jug-shock, wincing all "uhhhh..." as Kelly crams away to glory at bell.

R4: Jen visibly reduced, dukes at cheeks, flat-footed and hesitant on approach. Minka positively chipper in contrast - pounding in that heavy lead right off Jen's raised guard; carving palm-up hooks across Jen's waist; shoving left uppercuts to Jen's ribs; beating Jen right round-punches in left-side lats. Hewitt stumbling around behind her defences, sometimes crouching into Kelly as Minka's arms embrace Jen about the shoulders, then Kelly's pumping at the midsection, letting her hands go hup-hup-hup as girls lay in close together. Jen wearing a sullen, stricken expression - purely defensive now, blocking on her guard, bobbing on the spot - getting the left shoulder into Minka's body to bump-and-turn her midring. Bell: Minka BEAMING as she turns away from well-spanked Jen...Kelly practically skipping back to corner all puppies and ponytails.

R5: Minka pours it to Jen: Hewitt suffers. Starts with that ramrod straight right - Kelly planting on lead (left) leg as she deploys - buttocks shuddering side to side with the commitment. Jen blocking with dukes at her eyebrows, but Minka's weight of shot punches Hewitt off balance, loosening her up and rendering her vulnerable to the double right hand lead or clip-across hook. As Jen unravels, Minka gets more adventurous - lashing a showy left hook wide to hip/ribs after hooking Jen up top; punching right hands hard across the guard, then going hup-hup-hup via left/right uppercuts to jug as Jen's lying spellbound on ropes. Minka working Jennifer's tummy over methodical at times - Kelly switch-twisting her torso side to side, carving belly with a thumbside-up delivery on tightly-turned shots...poor Jen a grimacing wreck as she's treated to astonishing abuse bell to bell. Minka making a big show of pushing off all "I'm big" at bell...Jennifer slumped, agonized, hugging her body after an all-Minka fifth!

R6: Jennifer regroups, shows her quality. Weaving side to side underneath Minka's stubby straight right leads, Jen's getting angles for counter hooks head-and-body; counter right hands swept wide to jaw. Minka slugged out of her planted stance: disorganized, she's now vulnerable - frequently staring as Jennifer pounds at tummy or face with swiping ferocity. Ropes - Jen on top: Hewitt twisting side to side, working Minka's little brown belly with tight-arc, thumbside-up lefts and rights...poor Kelly sitting and moaning in ropes, unable to answer. Kelly forms hurting-girl crossed arm with right at left cheek/left across her gut...Jen just reaches in under the arms, wrestling apart the guard, chesting Minka deep to ropes, then pushing off to continue pummeling. Down the stretch, Jen starts coming off the body with violent left uppercuts, clipping Minka across the chin and sitting her hurt in ropes! Minka staring all glassy-eyed, hands pawing at Jen's shoulders to push her off...Hewitt BELTING away all bared-tooth vigour, leaning into Minka and letting her have it with either hand! Kelly swooning; Jen churning in lefts and rights to head and THE REF STEPS IN because the bell has rung. Official muscling Jen off her weakened prize...poor Kelly dazed and thrashed through 6!

R7: Revenge of Jen continues. Kelly's straight right lead very predictable now - Jen weaving under it, counter-hooking savagely to ribs or chin, buckling Minka's legs, then backing her up. With her feet parallel/posture upright, Minka's ineffective...time and again she just stares into Jen's punches as Hewitt's fists crash across face. Minka's curvy legs hold her up, but they can't hold canvas...Jen brawling Minka to ropes - bodying up to stabilize, then crowding close while pumping tummy hup-hup-hup. Kelly groaning, sagging butt-in-ropes, trying to tie up on rampaging Jen: Hewitt active on the spot - using elbows/crossed forearms to brace Minka upright, then clubbing away brutal rights and lefts. POOR MINKA! Kelly sputtering from abuse - frequently forming stoic crossed-arm fronts as Jenny just leans forward and whirls in churning leather. Bell: Hewitt's chest HEAVING, eyes flashing...she's obviously in great shape because previous editions of JLH wouldn't have sustained this pace.

R8: Minka adjusts, still with the hands up/palms out look, but now leading via the left jab rather than stepped-in lead right. Chopping, knocking poke keeping Jen outside...Hewitt bobbing on the spot, trying to jab her way in as Minka rotates clockwise. Leads to sporadic exchanges as girls lean in to deliver short, shocking rights, then pull away to kiss hooks across chins...both girls' legs proving curvy-sturdy in withering trade. Minka finding a useful pattern with lead left hooks upside the head setting up short straight rights to rack: Jen grumpy, falling off the pace as Minka outworks her for the 8th.

R9: Minka showing a bit of footwork, stepping to her left, pumping the jab, just frisking Jen down while maintaining a little distance. Hewitt turning on the spot, bobbing, looking to weave-and-counter, but Minka doing a good job varying tempo with her left hand, making it tough to read. Frustration forces Jen to lunge with hooks - coming up short and leaving her over-extended - easy-pickin's for Minka to clean up one-two. Kelly just punching for points, not doing a ton of damage, but she shuts Jen out, outclassing the veteran in a tactical 9th.

R10: Same again - Minka showing cuteness - pivoting clockwise around a piston-stick, starting to dole out good stiff poke to a grumpy Jen Hewitt. Kelly punishing face and breasts both with that left hand - deploying the right off her shoulder to pound at Jen's rack, pre-empting Hewitt counter attacks. Jen frustrated, crouching forward in earmuff only to be picked apart...she can't close distance and manufacture the brawl she craves. Latter half the round, Minka able to exploit Jen's midsection with swinging right uppercuts...Jen grunting on the take with her hands locked in high earmuff, torso hunching forward around the blows. Easy-breezy Minka to the bell - Kelly turning her girl, getting her touches, lifting both her hands high at the bell and shouting "YAH!" in Jen's punished face. Kelly banks the 10th, takes the fight UD10 close.

AFter: Minka glowing, taking a very tough, hard-fought decision from a close type-rival tonight. "I knew it would be close," Minka admits in postfight, grinning like a champ. "Jennifer hits hard for her size - harder than Elisha, and there were times when she was in control of me and hurting me. But I'm tuff: when a girl's going hard at me, it brings out my best. That's the difference between me, and Jen and Elisha...they break down under intense punishment; I firm up. When the going gets tough against these girls, that's what I always count on!"
