BEFORE: "As a stable, I think we were all humiliated by our results at last PPV," Amanda admits in prefight. "We dropped fights to lesser women, and that's not us - that's not the Bonzo gym. I think the onus is on me is to stand up and show some leadership by way of example. Moon Bloodgood's a strong fighter, a worthy champion...and I'm going to destroy her. Not because I hate her; not because some magazine thinks she's prettier than me...I'm going to destroy her BECAUSE she's strong. Because she's worthy. THAT'S what the Bonzo Gym is all about, and this fight is going to be me reminding everyone of that fact."

Bloodgood resolute in the face of an obviously VERY motivated Amanda Righetti. "Sooner or later, at welterweight, Amanda Righetti gets in your face, and you have to be prepared to push her back. She's the girl everyone wants to see me beat, if I'm going to call myself the Welterweight champion. She thinks she's reclaiming what's hers, but the world has changed. Amanda Righetti doesn't just take what she wants at welterweight anymore...there's women here now who can say no to her. I can say no to her. I'm going to walk Amanda into a jackpot, and I'm going to beat her ass. She can stew about what that means for her gym of hardbodies after she's absorbed another loss, and failed in the ring."

Amanda in bright purple sport top; black sport-bikini bottoms; black gloves; long red head hair loose. Moon in pea-green sport top; black sport-bikini bottoms; black gloves - hair in loose, apocalyptic tangles.

During R1: Righetti hard-eyed, bracing Moon early via stiff jabs/pounding right crosses...Bloodgood blocking, retreating to ropes, setting up in earmuff.

Oh, the beating.

Amanda steps-to, head lowered, arms SWINGING for Moon's waistline/flank-ribs. Righetti getting off like Leon Spinks on Ali (first time around) - redhead just BELTING her brunette, numbing the body, smashing at biceps. Moon shellshocked, feeling the heft...she tries to cup left hand round behind Amanda's head: Righetti shoves her left palm into Moon's face, pushing her back into ropes, denying the clinch. More body punching: more, MORE. Amanda SEETHING, but in control - her head butting into Moon's raised guard as Righetti's leaning-in, POURING the shellack to Bloodgood. Leather spanking out loud from Moon's trembling torso...nothing she can do - can't get out of there; can't punch back; can't tie up...Bloodgood hangs in for a terrible drubbing, waiting for Amanda's pace to slow, but it never does. Bell: Righetti's chest heaving, eyes blazing...she usually builds up to full-intensity over the course of a fight, but not tonight. Tonight, she's at full-throttle from the jump. Moon blinking in astonishment, staggering back to her corner...Bloodgood doing well to keep her feet throughout the ordeal.

R2: Ramrod jabs midring from Righetti, coaxing Moon into the high earmuff. Amanda bends her knees, chops a harsh right hand to breadbasket; straightens up into a clanging hook with thumbside-up delivery, swiveling Moon's head, putting her on her heels. Bloodgood stamping back into ropes - groggy, shook...she digs in, mitts tight at temples, 'cause HERE COMES RIGHETTI! Amanda crouching in, head low, arms LASHING away to body...Bloodgood knows she can't stand there and absorb this time. MOON ANSWERS BACK! Crowd roaring...Moon upright, punching back desperation straight lefts and rights - LANDING ON AMANDA'S FACE! Redhead straightens up, joins in the fun - Amanda hooking wide with the left hand/driving in short-righty, even as Moon's scrubbing away. BOTH WOMEN SCORING! Dangerous trade - fighters getting pasted...Amanda's left hook finally turns Moon's chin aside, buckling her knees: Rigs edges in closer, shrugging a short right uppercut to chin...Moon's head flaps back, knees give way and BLOODGOOD'S DOWN! Moon imploding onto her haunches, sagging back into ropes all stunned, head lolling...seething Amanda turns away angry, frowning, STRUTTING to neutral corner as MOON CAN'T BEAT THE COUNT! Bloodgood awake - eyelashes batting, legs numb - she just can't get off her haunches, hammered helpless by the winner and NEW welterweight champ - Amanda Righetti!

After: Righetti taking a baseball bat to Bloodgood tonight - a baseball bat inscribed with the word "Mjolnir" - leaving a strong and worthy champion helpless after 4 and a half hellacious minutes. Moon's okay, chatting with Righetti in the aftermath...Bloodgood displaying rueful acknowledgment of Amanda's "A" game tonight. "I felt like tonight, I couldn't just win," Amanda says - face scuffed from the ferocity of Moon's last-ditch resistance. "I needed to make a statement, and that means taking a little more risk than I usually would. I opened up the throttle, let my hands go, and Moon started picking up on that, but I just felt like I had too much for her. I just overwhelmed her - normally I break girls down systematically, but here, I don't know...I just wanted to 'end' her. It's the authoritative victory I wanted - something to really show everyone else that I can still find a level that they can't get to. That's scary, even to me. I've rarely gone where I went to tonight, so I'm really going to savour and contemplate
