BEFORE:

"I know what they think over there," says Salma, eyes smouldering. "They figure I can give their kid a good workout for five or six rounds and maybe she'll learn some things. Well, she's going to learn some things, and so are they."

"They say this is a big fight for me," says Kristen with a shake of the head. "That I can shut up the haters if I beat her. But, I realized a long time ago that haters are what they are, and no matter what I do, they'll find a way to hate on it. But it IS a big fight. Another challenge for me and a big one. And that's just how I'm treating it."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Getting ready for the fifth of six scheduled contests...and that's the Beatles and 'Helter Skelter'! Looks like the honors are going to former flyweight champ Salma Hayek tonight as Kristen Stewart is on her way to the ring!"

McCarthy: "I'm always surprised when the Weirdo shows even the smallest amount of CLASS, since he has so LITTLE..."

Cassie: "Same reason I get surprised when you show any INTELLIGENCE..."

McCarthy: "40, 639. 40, 640..."

O'Dell: "Kristen into the ring. Helped off with the robe to reveal that lime green bikini she likes..."

McCarthy: "What's THAT noise?"

Tess: "That would be 'La Bruja' by the lady coming to the ring right now, former flyweight champion Salma Hayek..."

McCarthy: "Fitting, because we're about to HAVE a brouhaha..."

Tess: "NOT..."

Cassie: "Now, ask yourself if it's worth it, Tess..."

Tess: "Good point..."

McCarthy: "What ARE you two babbling about now?"

O'Dell(sighing): "Salma into the ring. Helped off with the robe to reveal a red two piece that shows off a still rocking body. And, we're about ready to go. Tess on record as favoring Kristen. What do you think, Mac?"

McCarthy: "I think Stewart's winning streak is about to end."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess..."

McCarthy: "BIG surprise..."

Cassie: "Stewart's developed plenty of class, Jenny, she's quick, athletic, and very good technically. If Salma's going to win, she needs to turn this into something like Ke$ha/Newbrough..."

O'Dell: "And there's the bell for the first. Stewart right to the left hand, likes to pop that jab and work the right off it...and Salma walks through it and load up! Hayek going all in in the first minute, winging away! Stewart tying up, but Salma shoves off and ROCKS STEWART WITH A RIGHT HAND! LEFT HOOK WOBBLES KRISTEN!"

McCarthy: "Hayek's got the kid in deep trouble! She's got nothing to lose here and she's fighting like it!"

O'Dell: "Hayek has Kristen in full retreat, landing from both sides of the plate! Stewart covering up, backed to the ropes, and Salma swinging for the fences!"

McCarthy: "Stewart's in the ear muff just begging for the bell!"

O'Dell: "And the veteran Salma using every remaining second of the round. Hayek ignoring the body to bang punches off Stewart's guard, buffeting the younger woman right to the end of the round."

Tess: "Well, if Salma wanted to turn this into a brawl, mission accomplished, at least for one round. The veteran has the early 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Into the second and Hayek right back after Stewart. Salma in hot pursuit as Stewart retreats, snapping out jabs, trying to slow the Mexican veteran down."

McCarthy: "Salma still has good feet, she's moving well, cutting Stewart off, bringing her to battle, and going to work with the heavy artillery."

O'Dell: "Stewart counters with a nice right hand...AND DOWN GOES KRISTEN! HAYEK THE SHORT RIGHT HOOK!"

McCarthy: "Does this remind you of another one of Weirdo's big flyweight prospects? Gets in there with a veteran who can fight and folds up!"

O'Dell: "Stewart to her feet at six. Referee gives her the mandatory and on comes Salma! Hayek emptying the ammunition room as she fires everything she's got at Kristen! Stewart backed into the ropes, back in that ear muff, tying Hayek up only to have the veteran shove her off and go back to work."

Tess: "Kristen again just looking to run clock, and Salma in the hurry up offense..."

O'Dell: "Hayek looking for the big one to end it, but Stewart is going to deny her. The bell ends the second, but Hayek's built up a lead."

Tess: "20-17. Good start for Salma."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third round underway and Salma right back after K-Stew. Hayek in full assault mode. Stewart covering up, retreating..."

Cassie: "Doesn't have the legs back yet, Jenny. Dangerous position for Kristen with Salma looking to finish..."

O'Dell: "Hayek in close, throwing hook after hook. Stewart shoves off. Lands a good left of her own, circles right. Seems to be getting the legs back a bit."

McCarthy: "Not going to slow Hayek down, though. Salma keeping up the pressure."

O'Dell: "Kristen managing it now, though, circling back and right, making Hayek chase, landing good, clean left hands when Salma does so."

Cassie: "THIS is Kristen's fight, and we're seeing it for the first time. Using those quick hands and that length to pick Hayek off on the way in. Making her pay for every inch of canvas she takes."

O'Dell: "There's the bell for the third. Close one."

McCarthy: "Can't give that to either fighter. Salma early, Kristen late. Going to call it even."

Tess: "30-27 Salma through three."

Cassie: "Looks like Kristen DIDN'T fold up..."

McCarthy: "Shut UP, SCABBO!"

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth round underway and Hayek right back to the pressure, working past Kristen's outer defenses and going to work in close..."

McCarthy: "Hayek going body some now, trying to bring that guard down."

O'Dell: "Stewart tying the Mexican up in there. Using that length to smother Salma's offense. Not going to let her do work in close...RIGHT UPPERCUT, HAYEK AND KRISTEN KNOCKED TO HER BUTT!"

McCarthy: "That was just a beautiful, veteran punch by Hayek. Freed that arm with a shoulder roll and made no mistake!"

O'Dell: "Hayek to a neutral corner. Count at four. Five. Six. Stewart to her feet at seven. Takes the mandatory. And here comes Salma. Hayek going all in and STEWART FIRING RIGHT BACK!"

Cassie: "Here's that Ke$ha/Newbrough fight Salma wants!"

O'Dell: "Hayek a NASTY right and KRISTEN A RIGHT HAND THAT GOT SALMA'S ATTENTION!"

Tess: "Crowd loving it!"

O'Dell: "No question about it. BOMBS AWAY from both girls! Heavy leather right to the bell! And a little smile from Hayek!"

Tess: "What's THAT about, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Have to ask Salma. Maybe it's about her having won another 10-8 round and being up 40-35 through four."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Back to action in the fifth and Hayek right back to the pressure. Stewart managing it with that left jab. Slowing Hayek down, giving herself the space to use the feet and angle up. Hayek scoring when she gets inside, but Kristen quickly tying up and forcing a break."

McCarthy: "Salma strong in there, but Kristen's keeping her wrapped up. Not letting her shove or punch free."

O'Dell: "And, when they break, K-Stew back to work with the left hand, setting up nice right hands with it."

Tess: "Stewart starting to assert control now, Mac."

O'Dell: "And she NAILS Hayek with a right hand! AGAIN! Stewart lighting Salma up at range now. Hayek stopped in her tracks and BACKED UP WITH A BIG FLURRY! Kristen moving forward behind that left...WOBBLES SALMA'S KNEES WITH A RIGHT!"

Cassie: "I don't see any FOLDING going on..."

Tess: "If you look back at Kristen's career, this is no surprise. Every time she's been knocked down or hurt, she's come back strong!"

O'Dell: "And she's doing it again, ROCKING Hayek with a big combination at the bell!"

Cassie: "And Kristen's on the board. 49-45. Still in a big hole, though."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth begins with more Hayek pressure. Stewart managing it, however. Circling backward, creating distance, slowing Salma down with the left hand."

McCarthy: "Hayek determined, Jenny. She's got the edge in this one, and she's not going to let up."

O'Dell: "But Stewart again taking control. Using that left to stop Hayek in her tracks and set up that clean right hand."

Cassie: "Kristen has a lot of power for a fly. She's filled out since she first came to the FCBA. And you can see that not just in her body but in the power of her punches."

O'Dell: "And she's landing some of those power punches right now! Backing Hayek up! Stewart again coming forward, NAILS Salma with a right hand! Hayek wobbled! Kristen advancing, landing in combination. GOOD RIGHT HAND!"

Cassie: "Hayek wobbly butt!"

O'Dell: "Stewart stalking an unsteady Salma! RIGHT HAND AGAIN! Hayek backed to the ropes. Covering up, running clock."

McCarthy: "And now it's Stewart looking for the off switch!"

O'Dell: "And Hayek who'll deny her! There's the bell, and K-Stew slowly working her way back into the fight!"

Tess: "58-55. Still a nice lead for Salma."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Back at it in the seventh and Hayek continuing to make with the pressure, managing to get in close and put mitts to meat now. Stewart ties her up, forces a break, but Salma in a half crouch works past Stewart's defenses and lands some good shots!"

McCarthy: "This is a veteran fighter doing what veteran fighters do. She's adjusting, finding a way to renegotiate terms.

O'Dell: "Stewart again tying Salma up inside. Hayek shoving free and landing a good left hook. Kristen backs and circles, Salma closes in that half crouch...GOOD RIGHT HOOK, HAYEK!"

McCarthy: "Salma's wobbled the kid!"

O'Dell: "And the former champ looking to finish! Backing Kristen up with a blizzard of leather! Hayek a left hook and a right hand and STEWART TAKES A KNEE!"

Tess: "Kristen pounding the canvas in frustration as the referee begins his count!"

O'Dell: "Stewart takes four. Five. Six. Seven. And she's up at eight. Takes the mandatory, and Salma right after her. Kristen lands a good right, Hayek fires back, and we're at it again! The fighters toe-to-toe to the bell, but the damage done by Hayek!"

McCarthy: "A 10-8 round makes it 68-63 and just about puts it out of reach."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Moving into the eighth now, and Salma still working to pressure Stewart. Coming forward in that half crouch, but now Kristen's making the adjustment, stepping left, dropping the left hand onto the shorter woman's head and hooking with the right."

Tess: "Working pretty well for her, Mac..."

McCarthy: "She's punching down with the left, and punching down is a good thing. Usually you don't want to step toward a girl's power, though."

O'Dell: "Stewart slowing Salma's advance, and slowly bringing it to a stop with good, sharp straight lefts. Using that right to hook the body...AND NAILING HAYEK WITH AN UPPERCUT!"

Tess: "THAT got Salma's attention!"

O'Dell: "Backed Hayek up, and Kristen going to work. She's got the Mexican in grudging retreat now! Kristen asserting control, landing hard, crisp stuff with both hands. Hayek WOBBLED AGAIN with a right uppercut! Salma stumbling backward and Stewart in hot pursuit! Hayek covering up as Kristen tees off at the bell!"

Cassie: "Color me impressed."

McCarthy: "But, Hayek's still got the big lead 77-73."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "The ninth begins with a role reversal. Kristen Stewart now advancing behind her left hand. Hayek trying to hold canvas and fire back, but Stewart forcing her to retreat, dropping that right hook to the head and body."

McCarthy: "Salma getting effectively suppressed here for the first time."

O'Dell: "Stewart methodical, unhurried. Everything in rhythm now, putting punches together, controlling Hayek, quickly putting down any uprisings with volleys of heavy fire."

Tess: "Kristen really dialing in on Salma now. In total control."

O'Dell: "And again she's landing clean shots as the round nears its end. Hayek forced back. Stewart pressuring, SNAPPING back Salma's head with a final right at the bell. Another good round for K-Stew, who's turned this fight around in a big way."

McCarthy: "Still going to need something big to win it, though. My card says 86-83 for Hayek."

ROUND TEN:

O'Dell: "Tenth and final underway and, again, it's Kristen Stewart on the offensive. Kristen going to work on a retreating Hayek, pumping home the left hand, hooking in rights. Hayek giving ground more willingly now."

McCarthy: "No sense slugging with the kid at this point."

O'Dell: "Salma still offering more than token resistance, but all sallies are being brutally suppressed by a busy Kristen. Stewart's got the range and she's got all the guns firing."

Tess: "Stewart obviously thinking knockout here, Jenny, but Salma a crafty veteran, knows very well what Kristen needs."

O'Dell: "But that's not stopping Stewart from going after it. She's in total control, as she has been for most of the second half of the fight. Landing clean stuff in bunches. Hayek retreating, covering up, unable to do anything at all offensively at this point."

McCarthy: "But it's not going to matter if she makes the bell."

O'Dell: "And she DOES! The bell sounds ending the fight and there's another of those HUGS Mac hates..."

Tess: "I suspect more mutual respect."

O'Dell: "Decision being announced, and our ladies had it right as usual. It's close, 95-93, but your winner by UD10 is Salma Hayek!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I've got our winner, Salma Hayek, and, Salma, quite a fight tonight..."

Salma: "It was. I thought I had her early, but she wouldn't go away. Every time I got her in trouble, she came back at me. Most of these snarky young flys wouldn't have gotten out of that second round, let alone the fourth. This kid's for real. She earned my respect."

Tess: "Speaking of respect, this is two in a row for you..."

Salma(smiling): "I'm not ready for pasture yet, Tess. I can still fight with the best in this division. And I hope my performance against Liu and my work tonight proves that to some people so I can get more opportunities."
