Before: Ward passing up senior circuit opportunities to face Farrell, whom she describes as Very, very beatable.’ Cagey veteran with power, young boxer puncher with reach and speed -it's a nice match up. Sela in dependable black sports bra, red Adidas terrycloth trunks, Farrell in royal blue aerobics two piece - high neck sportsbra, tight braid.

During R1: Farrell setting the tone, loping around her foe and licking out the jab. Ward pivoting, taking the jabs on her gloves, and making the odd lunge to get at Terry's gut. Farrell takes the tactical round, neither girl hurt.

R2: Ward timing Terry’s jab, catches the brunette extending and drives in a Lucia Rijker straight right hand to the ribs. Farrell nearly takes a knee, badly hurt by the stroke, and Sela takes over, putting her head on Farrell’s clavicle and hacking sidearm lefts and rights with short backswings to the waist. Terry covering up, takes a murderous tattooing to her hips and waist line - fighters separate at the bell - Farrell's face wet with sweat and tears as she drops her guard.

R3: More Sela Ward, walking her lanky foe down, weaving nicely under the jab, pounding her way inside behind driving straight rights to the body, then banging with lefts and rights short and tight to the gut. Farrell helpless with Ward on her chest - the tall girl trying to step back and clip Sela with the uppercut with mixed results in a swampy third.

R4. Terry lancing the jab, doubles up on it to keep Sela outside, and puts a devastating straight right hand down the pike to leave Ward shellshocked seconds in. Sela frozen in place, gloves dropping, and Terry churns those long arms, buffing up Ward's chest and face with looping left and right uppercuts. Ward spilling backwards, finds the ropes and props herself up. Farrell stepping up, touching Sela with pawing lefts, then slinging in the short right hand, rips open Ward's left eyebrow with slashing blows. Ward soaking up Farrell’s best leather, but exits the round a battered shell of the woman who began the fight.

R5: Terry staying outside, grooms Sela with the stick, poking it over and over into Ward's face as Sela plods flat footed in pursuit. Crowd getting restless - they want Terry to finish the hurting brunette, but Farrell sticks to her gameplan.

R6: Ward recovers, renews that pesky upperbody movement, and once again has good luck countering Farrell’s jab with pounding right hands to the ribs. Sela bodying up, walks Terry to the ropes, and it's a corner to comer to corner beat down as Sela works patiently and heavily to Farrell’s midsection. Ward leaning on her girl, pushing back Terry’s right bicep then ripping the short right hand to the gut, grinding her forehead into Terry's chin. Rough stuff is working as Teri does little in return this round.

R7, 8, 9: Sela Ward gets old as Terry gets up on her toes, holds the right hand low and to the side to balance as she twirls outside, laying on the jab with a dancer's elegance. Ward pathetic in pursuit, shutout round after round and after 9 her face is a leather-blasted ruin. Farrell showing great timing and distance judgement, smacks and slashes away, lures Sela across the ring, then grabs the older woman's shoulders, neatly turning her and starting the process all over. Methodical destruction of Sela Ward salts the fight away on the cards for Terry Farrell.

R10: Farrell starts out with that licking jab, but her legs start to falter, and Sela is able to find the ribcage with that bludgeoning right hands. Terry covering up, cupping her gloves around Sela's head as Ward crowds in. Pounding lefts and rights to the stomach have Terry's legs quivering -but Ward a little too methodical - Terry never surprised, always able to anticipate what's coming, and she soaks it up to the bell as Ward punches herself out. Unanimous duke Terry Farrell as Ward is immediately whisked away for some serious stitching.

After: Best and worst of Terry Farrell yields a useful win for the prospect. After bartering Ward to the brink of defeat, Terry went safety first, painting Sela with jabs rather than going after her -proved to be key as Ward was able to extend the battle. Farrell needs the uppercut inside -without it, stronger inside fighters will chew her up as Ward was almost able to do at times.
