BEFORE:

"I hear Swan's been targeting me," says Rosamund with a smile. "We all know how she likes to take out pretty blondes. Well, Serinda's about to get a surprise. A NASTY one."

"Rosamund shouldn't flatter herself," says Serinda with a shake of the head. "She's not SIGNIFICANT enough for me to target. She's just another blonde. And she's about to be just another victim."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Our fifth bout of the night upcoming and that's Madonna and 'Die Another Day', and here comes one of the stars of that film, the lovely Rosamund Pike!"

Tess: "I'm surprised you've never been a Bond Girl, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Well...HEY! Why HAVEN'T I ever been a Bond Girl! Siri, CALL MY AGENT!"

Cassie: "Thank you, Tess Pavlov..."

O'Dell(sighing): "Rosamund, of course, representing Foxfire Atlantic. Climbs into the ring, helped off with the robe to reveal an eggshell two piece that shows she's been working out PLENTY in preparation for this one...and that's 'Foxy Lady' by Jimi Hendrix and that can only mean 'The Hottest Player In The Game', Serinda Swan, is on her way to the ring!"

McCarthy: "You know, it's a good thing Hendrix is dead, or I'd have him write a song called 'Foxier Lady' about ME!"

Tess: "It's a GOOD THING Hendrix is DEAD???"

McCarthy: "YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!"

Cassie: "Yeah, because the first thing he'd do if he were alive would be to write a song about YOU..."

McCarthy: "Shut up BOTH OF YOU!"

O'Dell: "That one counts! Drink up, boys! Swan into the ring, helped off with the robe to reveal that red bikini the crowd likes, and we're about ready to go. Tess has picked Serinda. What do you think, Mac?"

McCarthy: "The only thing more overrated than Swan's looks is her boxing ability. I'm picking Pike to pull the upset!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I. Agree. With. Tess."

McCarthy: "UNbelievable!"

O'Dell: "And, there's the bell. Pike immediately to work with that long left jab. Swan paying no attention to it, walking through it and banging away. Pike giving ground, wants space with that left. Serinda not having any...AND PIKE ROCKS HER WITH A BIG RIGHT HOOK!"

McCarthy: "Walked right into it!"

Tess: "Sloppy work from Serinda..."

McCarthy: "Swan has a history of doing this, getting arrogant against less physical fighters. Did it against Glau and Wagner and it cost her the fight both times..."

O'Dell: "And Pike plans to make it three, pounding away at a wobbly Swan, driving her back into the ropes and getting off with both hands!"

McCarthy: "Rosamund definitely looking for the off switch, but this is no tyro winging wild stuff trying to steal a win. This is sound work, putting punches together and landing good, clean shots on a hurt opponent!"

Tess: "Swan just hanging on here, in real trouble."

O'Dell: "And Pike keeping after the brunette, giving her a beating along the ropes. Serinda tying up, but Rosamund punching free, going body to bring down the guard, then right back to the head."

McCarthy: "I could not BE more impressed with Pike. Look at this kid. Very skilled, very slick, quick, and plenty of killer instinct! If we didn't have Palicki..."

O'Dell: "Final 30 seconds, Pike still banging, Serinda still hanging on, running clock. Swan ties Pike up, runs off a few more seconds, going to make it to the bell, but WHAT a first round for Rosamund Pike!"

Cassie: "Only 10-9 on the scorecards, but that was a big round for the blonde in a lot of ways."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second round underway and Pike again to that left jab. This time, Swan more careful, not walking through it, working her own left hand instead as the ladies box at range."

McCarthy: "I hate to agree with Scerbo, but that last round WAS big for Pike in a lot of ways, and one of them is, she got some respect."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it, this is a more careful, less sloppy Serinda...WHO ROCKS PIKE WITH A RIGHT HOOK!"

Tess: "Set that up with the jab, Mac!"

McCarthy: "Sure did and she has Pike in trouble!"

O'Dell: "Rosamund wobbled AGAIN with a left...AND DROPPED BY A STRAIGHT RIGHT HAND! Pike slides down the ropes to a sitting position as Swan bounces back to a neutral corner!"

McCarthy: "Pike's not done, Jenny. She's taking a couple of seconds here, but she's looking at the referee..."

O'Dell: "Looking as the count reaches four, five, six. Now pulling herself up at eight. Referee gives her the mandatory and waives Swan forward. Pike covering up, backing into the ropes in a high guard. Swan raining leather off that guard, hammering away looking for the finisher...AND WOBBLES THE KNEES WITH A RIGHT HAND! Pike quickly tying up, Swan shoves her off, now bangs body and then goes back upstairs, looking to finish..."

Cassie: "Exact reverse of the last round, Pike trying to run clock now..."

O'Dell: "Hanging on as the final seconds tick away. Swan lands another good left. Referee looking closely...but there's the bell!"

Cassie: "What a fight and it's only been two rounds..."

McCarthy: "That one goes 10-8 Swan because of the knockdown..."

Tess: "Which makes the score 19-18 Serinda through two."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "There's the bell for the third and it's been fun so far, ladies. Swan looking to follow up from last round, putting the pressure on Rosamund. Pike willing to give ground, using that left...AND WOBBLES SWAN AGAIN WITH THE RIGHT HOOK!"

Cassie: "Nothing sloppy from Swan that time, maybe just a little too aggressive, but Pike stuck that left out, got her dipping the other way, and blasted that hook home!"

O'Dell: "And Pike again going to work with both hands. Swan backing up, covering up...AND DROPPED WITH A STRAIGHT RIGHT!"

McCarthy: "It wasn't just the right. That was accumulative damage..."

Cassie: "Could have gotten 100-1 against Mac knowing that word..."

McCarthy: "SHUT IT!"

O'Dell: "Swan sent to her back. Pike to a neutral corner. Count at four. Five. Six. Serinda rolling to her knees. Seven. Eight. Going to beat it. Referee gives her the mandatory and on comes Pike..."

McCarthy: "LOOK at this kid! Look how smooth she is. Not going wild. Working with both hands. Getting off good, strong stuff while staying sound defensively..."

O'Dell: "And AGAIN she's got Swan on the ropes and is delivering a beating. Serinda shipping a lot of leather. Big test for the brunette's legs, heart, and conditioning. Hurt early and having to survive another round of thumping..."

Cassie: "And Pike not slowing down as the round goes on, flurry after flurry at Swan as Serinda keeps the guard high on the ropes. Swan doing just enough to keep the referee from stepping in..."

O'Dell: "And not nearly enough to slow down Pike, who's reefing away, looking for the 'off' switch in the final seconds. Serinda keeping the guard high, rolling the shoulders and moving the head to the bell. Swan survives, but a HUGE round for Rosamund Pike!"

Tess: "10-8 for Pike, which puts her ahead 28-27 after three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "We're into the fourth now, and Pike again using the left hand, wants to work at range. Swan willing to engage on the blonde's terms. Rosamund boxing lead now, AND SERINDA STAGGERS HER WITH A RIGHT HAND COUNTER!"

McCarthy: "What's going ON in there?"

O'Dell: "At the moment, Swan's got Pike reeling! A perfectly-timed right hand did the damage! Rosamund being driven before the brunette, keeping the guard high, trying to stay off the ropes. Swan not going all in this time, boxing more than slugging..."

McCarthy: "May not have her own legs all the way back yet after that last round."

Tess: "Good point, Mac, because this isn't the Serinda we saw in the second. She's not throwing bomb after bomb."

O'Dell: "She IS, however, in control with Rosamund still retreating. Swan touching with the left, locating, then using the right to score points. Pike keeping the guard high, in clock mode. Serinda not pressing, willing to take the points Rosamund is giving her."

Cassie: "Pike moving a little better now, getting the legs back. Might not win this round, but she looks like getting out of it."

O'Dell: "She certainly does, as Swan continues to work for points down the stretch. Pike remaining defensive, taking no chances, jabbing a little, as the final seconds tick away. There's the bell, and we're all even after four."

Tess: "37-37 after four action-packed rounds."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "We're into the fifth and everyone in the arena might be surprised we've made it this far after all the big punches we've had...AND THERE'S ANOTHER ONE! PIKE WITH THAT SHORT RIGHT HOOK!"

McCarthy: "That's absolutely GREAT stuff from Pike. Second time she's timed that PERFECTLY off the left!"

O'Dell: "And this time Rosamund IS going all in! Nothing sloppy, but she's pouring it on trying to take Swan out of there..."

Cassie: "Exactly what she SHOULD be doing at this point."

O'Dell: "Pike batters Serinda back into the ropes and Swan has been here before, backed up and getting worked over, trying to hang on. Pike all OVER Swan as Serinda keeps the hands high, snaps out a few tentative counters."

McCarthy: "Pike slowing down a little now, may have spent all the energy reserves trying to finish..."

O'Dell: "Swan beginning to fire back with regularity as we head down the stretch, countering effectively...RIGHT HAND COUNTER, SWAN AND DOWN GOES PIKE!"

Tess: "This is SOMETHING..."

O'Dell: "Swan to a neutral corner. Pike on her right side. Rolls to her belly at four. Five. Six. Seven. Pushing up to her feet. Will beat the count. Stands at nine. Takes the mandatory. Swan moves in quickly, lands a sharp combination, but there's the bell. No time for a clean up, but that's a big knockdown for Swan..."

McCarthy: "Two point swing. I'm scoring that 10-9 Swan because of how much Pike got done early, but, without the knockdown, it goes 10-9 the other way."

Tess: "Which puts our score at 47-46 Swan instead of the other way around."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Into the sixth now, and the pace slowing down a bit, at least in the early going..."

McCarthy: "If we make it to 30 seconds without someone getting hurt it'll be the first time all night."

O'Dell: "Pike wants to work the left hand, box for points. Swan willing to play that game. Not pressuring for the first time all night, willing to box."

Tess: "And, you can see how skilled both girls are now that the fight has settled down. Both can very smooth, very slick, very sound boxers, and Pike showing every bit as much skill as Swan."

Cassie: "The difference in the two, aside from Serinda's experience, is that Swan is more physical, and that's no surprise at Front Street, because Wiz really LIKES big, physical fighters, and his lightweight division is a prime example. The three pure lights are Swan, Torv, and Arterton, all three big, strong, athletic, hard hitting lights. The other lights, Ke$ha, Perry, Decker, and Ruah are all big enough to fight WELTER. And it's the same lower down. Campbell, Park, Mack, Dennings, Pink and Britney at bantam, all physical, hard-hitting girls, Stewart's a very big fly, and Seyfried's very physical..."

McCarthy: "What's your POINT, Scabbo?"

Cassie: "Um...that Wiz likes big, physical girls...like I SAID ten seconds ago...how many times have I told you, Mac. Wait 30 seconds and let your brain catch up to the rest of us before you ask questions..."

McCarthy: "YOU LITTLE..."

O'Dell: "MEANwhile, back in the ring, both ladies clearly regrouping after five wild rounds. Both being careful, working their jabs, keeping flurries short and at range. Neither stepping to or looking for anything big."

McCarthy: "Smart play for both fighters to settle thing down. Neither of them probably in any condition to push to finish right now. Best to just dial it back and husband resources for the stretch run."

O'Dell: "And that's exactly what it appears they're doing. Final seconds tick away, and there's the bell. Close round..."

Tess: "Sure was. I went Serinda, though..."

McCarthy: "Right, you are, Walmart..."

Cassie: "Which makes it 57-55 in favor of Serinda."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh round begins the way the sixth ended. Both girls want to box at range..."

Tess: "You've got to think these terms might favor Pike a little bit, wouldn't you, Mac?"

McCarthy: "See, Scabbo, if you sit and LISTEN when I talk, you'll learn something about BOXING, like Walmart did. And, yes, Walmart, you are correct. Pike is a very good boxer, as good as Swan if not better. This is her game, so it's definitely playing to her strengths."

O'Dell: "And Swan again willing to do it. May not have a choice at this point, as both girls have taken quite a bit of punishment and have to be tapping the last of their energy reserves."

Cassie: "Serinda finding the range with that left hand, but just following on occasion with the right. All short exchanges again. Little flurries and then repositioning."

O'Dell: "Heading down the stretch and Swan with a left...RIGHT HOOK, PIKE AGAIN and Swan's wobbled!"

McCarthy: "The timing on that thing is just unbelievably precise! She fit that in a KEYHOLE!"

O'Dell: "And Pike hammering away now, trying to finally finish this thing off. Swan backed up into the ropes, guard high, leaning back, soaking it up. Pike swinging for the fences. Swan again countering just enough to keep the referee from stepping in. Rosamund POUNDING the body now, trying to bring the guard down. Pike one final big flurry at the bell. Landed a good right in there, but Swan's still standing at the end of the seventh."

Tess: "This has been an incredible fight..."

Cassie: "And it's one point after seven. Rosamund wins that one, making the score 66-65."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "We're into the eighth round now, and I've got no idea what either of these girls has left, Mac..."

McCarthy: "The answer to that question is going to determine who wins the fight. It's cliche, but, in this case, true, that whichever of these ladies digs deeper is going to come out on top."

O'Dell: "Right now, both again content to box at jab range. Pike likes to work that left in double-taps. Swan pistoning her own left hand out, setting up an odd right hand."

Cassie: "Both girls still have their legs, but you can see how the pace has slowed down, obviously a result of the carnage in the first seven rounds."

O'Dell: "Pike very smooth, very skilled. Here's hoping we're going to see a LOT more of this girl on this side of the Atlantic..."

Tess: "I think everyone in the crowd would second that motion."

McCarthy: "Stop quoting Smokey Robinson songs, Walmart..."

Tess: "Smokey...that was..."

Cassie: "Again, Tess, do you HAVE all night?"

Tess: "You know, I LIKE having you on the team, Cassie!"

Cassie: "Of COURSE you do! I'm a DELIGHT!"

McCarthy: "Will you two stop BABBLING..."

O'Dell: "We're approaching the closing seconds of the eighth. Good, tactical boxing on both sides throughout this round. Neither girl able to gain control, both able to score, though. One final exchange and there's the bell. Close one, ladies."

McCarthy: "Definitely, but I think Swan had the better of it."

Tess: "Agreed."

Cassie: "Well, if we're right, it's 76-74 Swan with two to go. But, why do I get the feeling no lead is safe in this one?"

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "Ninth begins with more boxing from our two lightweights. Swan working that left hand...AND PIKE ROCKS HER WITH THAT RIGHT AGAIN!"

McCarthy: "Just an AWESOME punch! Right through the keyhole again! Maybe a little easier to land this late with Swan slowing a little, but still impressive!"

O'Dell: "And Pike is throwing in all the reserves now, everything unit she can lay hands on being thrown into the fray! The blonde winging away for all she's worth as Serinda keeps the guard high on the ropes yet again."

Cassie: "Pike starting to slow down, but still firing away..."

O'Dell: "And now Swan countering some off the ropes. Both women swinging...AND SERINDA STAGGERS ROSAMUND WITH THAT RIGHT HOOK! Pike wobbles backward and SWAN DROPS HER WITH A SHORT LEFT!"

McCarthy: "What is going ON in there???"

Cassie: "That was a NASTY left hook..."

O'Dell: "Pike on her back. Count at three, four, five. Sits up. Six. Seven. Rolls to her feet at eight. Going to take the mandatory. And the referee waives Swan forward. Serinda all seek and destroy now. Winging away at a wobbly Pike...AND DROPS HER AGAIN WITH A RIGHT HAND!"

McCarthy: "That may be it. Can't IMAGINE. this kid getting back to her feet..."

O'Dell: "Pike down on her belly. Three. Four. Five. Pushing to hands and knees. Six. Seven. And to her feet AGAIN at eight..."

McCarthy: "Un. Believable."

O'Dell: "Again Rosamund takes the mandatory, and again the referee waives Swan forward. Serinda swinging away but running out of gas now...AND PIKE FIRING BACK...clobbering away drunkenly as Swan now retreats under a barrage of leather..."

Tess: "What, exactly, is holding these girls up, Mac?"

McCarthy: "You've got ME, Walmart..."

O'Dell: "Swan backed into the ropes as a defiant Rosamund swings for the fences. Final seconds tick off and the round ends as the crowd roars for the ladies as they head back to their stools!"

McCarthy: "They're going to need to put STRETCHERS in the corner if this goes on much longer..."

Tess: "10-8 Swan, Mac?"

McCarthy: "That's how I'm scoring it. Got to figure Pike's work early and late was too good for it to be 10-7."

Cassie: "86-82 Swan as we head to the tenth."

ROUND TEN:

O'Dell: "We're into the tenth and final now, and the ladies back to boxing at jab range. The pace definitely slowed now as both blonde and brunette have to be basically spent at this point..."

McCarthy: "Definitely, Jenny. They're leaving it all in the ring tonight, no question. The fact that they're both still standing at this point is pretty nearly miraculous..."

O'Dell: "Standing they are, and both still working hard, Swan applying the slightest of forward pressure, keeping that left hand high, not going to allow any more keyhole rights from Pike at this late date."

McCarthy: "Rosamund still plenty game. Working that left, still showing that skill and smoothness."

Tess: "Assuming nothing huge happens in the next minute and a half, and that's making a big assumption, this is still a huge fight for Pike, isn't it, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Absolutely, Walmart. This kid's barely been in an FCBA ring before today, and she's done more than show she belongs. She's shown how much talent and grit she has, that she can compete with a Top Twenty fighter. Get her some rounds, and she can be a factor in this division."

O'Dell: "Final minute now, and Swan still pressuring just a bit. Leading with the right now, keeping that left hand high. Pike answering back, still not willing to give anything to the more experienced brunette. Not a ton on any of the punches now, but the girls still throwing, still working. Pike double taps the left. Swan lands a right hand lead. Rosamund a left hook, Swan flurries back, and there's the bell! It's over! Last round to Swan, but that only matters on the scorecards, and no one's going to remember those."

Cassie: "No. They are NOT."

O'Dell: "And there's one of those hugs you hate so much, Mac!"

McCarthy: "I'm not complaining about this one. Those are two utterly spent fighters who have put on a brawl for the ages."

Tess: "Going to be on a lot of 'Fight Of The Year' lists come December..."

Cassie: "No question about it."

O'Dell: "Decision coming back and it's no surprise, your winner by UD10 is 'The Hottest Player In The Game', Serinda Swan, but, like Mac said, Rosamund Pike likely to come out a winner tonight as well."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Serinda Swan, and, Swanny, the crowd's STILL buzzing, talk to me about that fight..."

Serinda(still breathing hard but smiling): "Go ask Arterton and Wagner how they like following THAT..."

Tess: "Good luck to them..."

Serinda: "Seriously, though, this girl can fight. She's very slick, very quick. I have no idea why Foxfire has been hiding her in Europe, but the secret's out after tonight."

Tess: "What's next for you?"

Serinda(smiling): "Hot tub. And that's all I'm thinking about right now."
