QUEEN OF THE ICE HOTEL TITLE BOUT

Before: With the lightweight belts tied up for so long, elite fighters are turning to previously "low-brow" venues to keep their names in the public eye. "Let's be realistic," Rachel says in prefight, "After what happened with Kaley and Jennifer, I make a pretty attractive target for a fighter trying to get into the title picture. She had trouble getting fights as an indy fighter because everybody knew she was dangerous, and this past year hasn't changed anybody's mind. She's definately on the cusp, but there isn't room for her in the lightweight elite, and I'm just going to have to shove her back down where she belongs!"

" I know I can't manuever with her," an eager Adriana says, "but I won't need to. Lawrence showed she can be dropped with one good hook, and mine is even better than hers! I will take her place among the best fighters in the toughest FCBA divison, and then nobody will be safe from me!"

Adriana maintaining the grey chinchilla ensemble that she remains undefeated in, hair loose and tingly over her shoulders, breast and backs. Rachel taking fashion advice from new stablemate Candice Swanepoel, coming out in a tan leather bra-and-loincloth set, black kid gloves, black leather ankle boots, brunette hair pulled back into a tight pony-tail.

R1: Brisk step-and-poke to open, girls rotating clockwise around tart left jabs. Bit of a face-spanking for Adriana early as Rachel outboxes her: Lima finally able to come forward in last minute, spooking Nichols out of her stance via strong overhand rights/rangy left hooks in concert.

R2: Girls circling clockwise midring, working behind stiff left jabs, keeping right hands at cheeks while workings. Rachel working off the jab more effectively, gouging tuff hooks to sternum; doubling up that hook in close to chip the chin. Outside, Adriana's able to hold Nichols at bay with that ever-dangerous left hook, but inside, Rachel's able to bat her fists against her ribs, backing her up. Down the stretch, digging Nichols hooks to body graduate to ringing hooks to chin, capped by a rangy right cross to Lima's chin. Adriana stepping in fence post holes, looking alarmed, groggy at the bell. Rachel's face gives away her satisfaction with a small smile & dancing blue eyes as she makes a point of noticing Lima's wobbly-butt gait.
R3: Rachel shows the right, but brings the left hook thick to paunch, signaling her intentions right from the get-go. Adriana hooking back in the pocket, turning over the punch with the elbow dangerously high on follow through. Left uppercut from Nichols smoothly flowing as she eases weight to back leg, Lima pressing forward, looping the left hook in exchange. Classy, but muscular stuff, Rachel pivoting and turning but always in range as she nets her second straight round.

R4: Rachel starts out snapping Adriana's head back with a stiff jab, but Lima's had her fill of it. Braving the poke, swinging away wide lefts and rights finally starts buffetting Nichols about the head and shoulders. Rachel driven ropeside, earmuffs up, digging in at the apron as Adriana squares away, lips curled back from angry teeth. Lima telegraphing, but very determined - she'll try two hacking right hands up top, then a lugging right uppercut to Nichol's chest followed by a sweeping hook to ear, snarling throughout. Rachel seeing the punches well, but unable to answer: good ferocity from the Queen enough to suppress her class as Adriana brawls away to points in the 4th.


R5: Rachel comes forward aggressive, determined to retake command. She’s leading with her right, throwing one after another starting the moment she’s close enough to hit Adriana. Lima's tagged repeatedly to the face or tits by rights or follow-up left hook, but she’s not backing down or yielding an inch of ground, instead electing to trade. Slow circle sees the two go from mid-ring to the ropes and back again as they play cat and mouse. Adriana’s repeatedly staggered as Rachel’s right finds its way through her relatively porous guard, but Lima gets in several solid connects with her left hook to the body, putting a shimmy in Nichol’s luscious legs more than once. One such exchange at the two-minute mark makes all the difference in the round: Rachel backs up and tries to walk Adriana into more punishment when that left hook hammers her liver, drawing an anguished cry from her lips. Nichols cringing, forced to cover up as Lima immediately pours at her, punching furiously with left/right combinations and hacking away to the body. End of the round, Adriana saunters back to her corner, broad smile on her face. Through 5, Lima's winning the fight, plus she's staggered Rachel on more than one occasion.

R6&7: Nothing fancy. Rachel just being first, staying busy, showing great fitness as she takes it to Adriana inside and out. Lima competitive in spots, constantly pushing forward, but rarely getting off as Nichols maintains initiative. Rachel working insanely hard, jabbing Adriana to ribbons, outhustling her inside, then stepping away to circle and look things over. Critical rounds proving Lima can compete in spots, but Rachel's still by far the more consistent fighter.

R8: Girls edge in close off jabs, trade digging hooks to sternums and then they're in shoulder to shoulder, cleaning up! Long limbed lathering muffled noise of multiple fur-covered mitt impacts, girls separate panting after furious exchanges. Rachel jabs Adriana's face, crosses her a right hand to chin. Both girls reach for hooks and LIMA GETS STROKED! The Queen sent clattering back on her heels, Nichols hardhearted, pouncing forward, back at Adriana's midsection with lanky lefts and rights. Lima goes into the clinch, mouth open, wrapping her up for ref's break. From there, hard pursuit from Nichols, stepping-with, jabbing chest to keep her pinned down, launching clubbing lefts and rights before stepping back out to regroup. Adriana at apron, regaining her wits as Rachel beats her at her own game.

R9: Simple stuff from Rachel, but very effective: she completely dominates an increasingly forlorn-looking Adriana midring. Nichols stepping, pivoting, pumping her jab. Lima hurt by early right hands, baby-stepping to her right, stumbling forward or back, rallying, but finding it hard to answer back. Rachel not going to the body, getting a lot of shots blocked as one-twos bounce off Adriana's defences, but enough of it's getting through to deeply discourage brunette.

R10: It's a mark of respect, but one Adriana for one could do without. Rachel's felt what Lima can do, and obviously seen what happened to Brook, and Upton, and Swanepoel when they backed her into a corner. She can jab-jab for points, then dance away. Lima in tears as the clock winds down, and it becomes clear she won't get the knockout she needs. Rachel jumps into a hug from her corner as Adriana falls to her knees as the final bell gives the UD10 to the winner and NEW Queen of the Ice Hotel, Rachel Nichols!

After: Adriana shaking her head as Rachel's arm is raised in victory. As soon as her gloves are off, the new Queen wastes no time grabbing Lima by her hair, dragging her through the ropes and out to the lobby of her former domain. Bursting through the doors, Nichols forces Adriana down the steps. The former Queen is stumbling and in tears as her vanquisher looks around for what she wants.

Rachel stops in front of the nearest snowbank, forces Adriana to her knees, then drives her face first into the powdery drift. Her feet beat frantically against the pavement as Nichols roughly washes her face in the snow. The cold, humiliation and exhaustion take their toll, and Lima's struggles soon slow down. Lifting her face, the tears beginning to freeze on her skin, the new Queen marks her victory by stuffing a handful of snow into each cup of the grey-furred bra that Adriana was hitherto undefeated in, and another down the back of her panties. Pulling her back to her feet, Rachel thrusts Adriana against the waiting limo, where her bags are just being loaded into the trunk, then turns to accept the black fur that Kelly Brook first took off of Aishwarya Rai, aknowledging the cheers of the onlookers as she heads back inside to begin a new era in the history of the Ice Hotel.
