Catherine Tyldesley announced herself back among the BBU welters after an epic punchout of Suranne Jones during the recent Girls Friday vs Kear's Kats stable war and instantly incurred the wrath of fellow blonde Alex Curran who seeks her post-title run career revival. The buxom Merseyside model fell to Nicola McLean in the eliminator back in March and hasn't fought since but now targets Tyldesley much to BBU TV's delight. "I'm surprised these two gals haven't fought each other so far", Denise van Outen explains on air, "I mean they are two of the best looking blondes in the welterweight division and don't have to revert into exposing their assets like some of these PageThree models. I think we're in for a great fight and and let the better blonde win!"

Round 1:
A flyweight-like start to this bout with both blondes trading vicious leather straight from the get go; Catherine bounces off Curran's tummy and uppercuts the rack as the Merseyside model snaps her head back with a jabbing combo in response but bends forward quickly as Tyldesley whacks her around the elbows and pierces the guts in painful fashion. Loud thumps are heard in Brighton as Catherine keeps crashing off Alex's tummy and the model drops her arms too low in protection, eats an overhand hook on the jaw and Tyldesley pours more leather on her face, nails Curran on the jaw again and wobbles her to the side, keeps hammering away on the body and forces the fellow blonde to jump to the side in avoidance. More menacing hooks follow but Alex shows some quick footwork to remain in mid-distance until the bell with Tyldesley indicating she's gonna give her a real handful tonight; much the same as she displayed against Suranne Jones lately.

Round 2:
Alex closes Catherine down and lands some vicious leather on the ribs herself but eats another overhand counter as Tyldesley slams a jabbing combo on her cheeks and leaves the first bruises on the Merseyside model's otherwise attractive face. It only fuels Curran's wrath though as she's not accustomed to getting pummelled around the BBU rings; she targets Tyldesley's rack and bounces off the cleavage but the actress shows great resistance and holds her ground; keeps spiking Alex's face over the top, snaps her head back repeatedly, leans on her and drills into her guts before pushing her towards the ropes. Curran breaks down in wake of this onslaught but manages to clinch Tyldesley and shove her against the turnbuckle, quick right hand nails the younger blonde on the nose as Alex slices her guard and tries to trap on the ropes in a swift turnaround. Catherine single strikes from behind the guard and dekes to the side, avoids Curran's efforts but eats more shots on the mouth just before the bell with the model piercing her mitts in fine fashion and punching the air in delight as Tyldesley's face displays red patches across both cheeks.

Round 3:
Alex jumps after her rival and both girls clash in the middle of the ring trading leather again. Tyldesley swings around the head and nails Curran's cheeks, adds more reddish patches across her face but eats several shots on the chest as Alex targets her rack and forces to bend forward. The Merseyside model slams her foe on the temple, follows up with a jabbing series on the stomach and has the actress moaning but can't shatter her guard thereafter and falls into a clinch. Catherine's desperate to catch some respite and both girls wrestle each other around the ring before Tyldesley stuns the model with a straight jab on the nose, whacks a left overhand follow up on the temple and wobbles the taller blonde to the side. She tries to land more facial leather but Alex clinches her and allthough the actress backs her against the ropes, the round concludes with both women locked in a stalemate and unable to gain advantage.

Round 4:
More aggression from Alex who closes Catherine down and ducks underneath a hooking approach, bounces off her ribs instead but drops her left arm too low and gets nailed on the nose with a classic piledriver and sags on her knees on the spot. Catherine pounds away in close range as a result, lands more punches on the mouth and has Curran gasping for air, drills her on the jaw with a huge uppercut and the model's knees give way as she loses balance and stumbles back, tries to stay upright but Tyldesley reaches after her and slams another right hook on the mouth, SENDING ALEX SPAWLING ON HER BACKSIDE moments later... Curran blinks frantically in disbelief but gets up at six and gestures towards her foe it was nothing... Catherine has other ideas and jumps straight into action, rips into her guts and has moaning on the spot again, pushes the model towards the ropes with the onslaught downstairs, clips Alex's chin with one-off switch and the taller blonde is left sagging on the ropes in visible discomfort, soaks up more punishment in the final minute, can't keep her arms high enough as Catherine slams more jabs across her face and leaves more lumps; another uppercut on the jaw late on, furious attacks from the actress who wants to chop the model down again, runs out of steam though and reverts into pounding away at Curran's midriff; still has the model walking away on soft knees during the interval and stares at her checking for mental as well a physical damage.

Round 5:
Alex is visibly affected by that previous round and tries to hang back but Tyldesley matches her footwork now and closes down with ease, sends more jabs on the midsection before switching high and burying Curran under a barrage of leather. The model keeps avoiding the onslaught for most of the opening minute but wears herself out quickly and loses balance, drops her arms too low again and Tyldesley shatters her jaw with a left hook and spins towards the ropes... Alex screams out in pain but gets trapped in a hurry; Catherine slices her guard at will, adds more cuts to the model's face with a brutal attack that has Alex butt-in-ropes and getting pummelled badly, head-snapping combos on display as Tyldesley literally shoves her mitts into Curran's mouth and it's a rare sight among the welters with one girl just beating the other into stupor but still, to her credit, Curran refuses to go down even though Tyldesley wants to turns her face into a bloody mask as he did before with Suranne Jones... full minute of face-bashing leaves Alex a messy wreck and she drops her head and begins sobbing in pain but ref doesn't call it a day to everyone's surprise, has Tyldesley pounding away at Curran's ribcage in the dying seconds instead and she's nearly knocked the model out on her feet with a brutal display and the medics try to make their way into the Lioness Club corner already.

Round 6:
Brave effort from Alex who doesn't quit on her stool but she's been wrecked tonight with a vicious flurry of punches from the Corrie blonde and Tyldesley traps her immediately into the sixth, slices the mitts with a cross-hooking combo, opens the cheek wounds with more jabbing and drives Curran towards the ropes and the model offers nothing back anymore, allows her foe to turn her face into a bloody mask as Tyldesley heads down the Suranne Jones path and has the people in the first rows of the audience covered in Alex's blood as she rips more leather against the nose & mouth, leaves the model semi-dazes spinning towards the referee's arms who has no choice but to stop this massacre as Alex was well and truly battered out of her senses and dumped in the pool of own blood... TKO6 Catherine Tyldesley!!!

Post-fight:
Incredible display of fury from Catherine who keeps her bloody path going with a heavy battering of Alex Curran and indicates she's perhaps a real sleeper among the welters in the upcoming months. Nobody predicted this kind of performance from the Manchester girl and here in Brighton the whole of Merseyside suffered a brutal reality check with the Aintree model getting bashed out of her senses. How good is Catherine right now? She's taken care of couple of experienced rivals and one has to wonder if she's mounting a real title run against the seemingly invincible Erika Heynatz.

Meanwhile the medica attend the roughed up Alex in the Lioness corner and apart from avoiding a nasal fracture, there's nothing more positive to report. The former welter title challenger's return to the ring ended in spectacular failure but BBU TV' Denise van Outen indicates it's only a temporary setback: "Alex won't dwell on this loss for too long, well, not until her wounds heal and I have to admit, Catherine really pulped her up tonight! But once she gets over this, she'll be back pounding her way to the top; after all she's 0-3 for this year and I know that's massively misleading record. I wonder if that loss drops her out of the Ashes contention now?"
