The Cardiff Challenge card gets underway with the Dutch lingerie model Sylvie van der Vaart looking to follow up on her victory over Vicky Lloyd against an equally petite but fierce TV actress Tina O'Brien. The English blonde lasted eight rounds with Cheryl Cole earlier this year and still wants to add a high-profile scalp to her resume with Sylvie, as good as she looks in her lingerie collection, being a perfect target in more ways than one.

The Dutch model endured a really rough night against Fearne Cotton back in March which ended in her top getting removed by the English presenter but has bounced back in style since however Tina saw that fight on BBU TV and promises Sylvie she will hammer her chest flat, perhaps not in classic JMD style, because she wants to brutalize her face as well as body but even Denise van Outen thinks O'Brien lets her mouth run a little far. "Let's just hope van der Vaart won't dump her into a smoking mess like Cheryl Cole did! Allthough it's a great start for the Cardiff audience with couple of feisty and attractive blondes about to pound the crap out of each other!"

Round 1:
Tina opens with a bang and literally so as she cracks a hoking combo straight into her opponent's face and works upstairs in the early going; snaps Sylvie's head back with a spirited charge and clips her chin to further stamp her authority. Van der Vaart on the back foot, reverts into some quick footwork in avoidance but Tina's hell bend to give her more misery and thumps another combo on the face, slices the mitts with ease and leaves first bruises on the model's face as Sylvie simply can't stay away from her and begins to moan half way through the round with O'Brien just drilling leather over the top and pushing the Dutch model into the ropes. More moans from Sylvie as Tina rips into her midriff, whacks between the arms and connects with the chest, keeps her pinned on the ropes for remainder of the round and slams across the face in the dying seconds, splits the mitts again and lands an uppercut on the jaw right at the death. Van der Vaart looks shocked while O'Brien gestures she's gonna continue with this until the Dutch blonde breaks down for good.

Round 2:
As impressive as Tina was in the opening round, Sylvie fires back straight from the bell in the second and engages in a vicious leather trade-off in the middle of the ring; beats the English girl for an overhand hook and tags her on the eye, flicks a follow up on the nose and wobbles O'Brien who endured her first noteworthy leather experience, dekes to the side before more shots catch her on the face but Sylvie swings a big left jab on the mouth anyway, slices the mitts and nails the actress again as Tina yelps in pain and covers up; van der Vaart rips into her ribcage thereafter and tries to push to the ropes but O'Brien stumbles to the side, ducks underneath another high attack and spikes the model on the stomach; both girls bounce off each other and Sylvie misses more shots over the top, fails to stun her foe with more jabbing and gets laced around the elbows instead with Tina switching higher in the final minute and working on her torso. But Sylvie's learned how to glue her arms together after few beatings to the body she took earlier in her career and leaves O'Brien crashing off her forearms in fruitless fashion.

Round 3:
O'Brien keeps going forward but loses another opening exchange as Sylvie cracks a left hook on the jaw to tear her mitts apart and follows up on the mouth; gives the younger blonde a good head-snapping before Tina can jump away to safety and circle back. Van der Vaart hassles her thereafter and continues to send shots over the top as O'Brien finally has enough of her presence and leaps straight at her but right into the path of a clubbing left hook that nails her on the eye and anger isn't the best advisor as van der Vaart keeps her focus and thumps more leather on the chest, slices the mitts and catches the actress in close range, bounces off her breasts and slams across the mouth again; Tina gets badly exposed after a rushed approach, leans back but gets tagged with a straight jab that sags her on the ropes. It's Sylvie's turn to square up to the other blonde and she rips a series into Tina's stomach, traps her on the ropes for good and throws more body shots to leave the English girl moaning and trying to clinch. But she overpowers her, shoves againt the ropes and lands another soilid uppercut on the jaw, exposing O'Brien's guard one more time. At the bell it's the Dutch vixen gesturing back at Tina who barks away in anger and perhaps is on the verge of losing temper alltogether according to Denise van Outen in the booth.

Round 4:
Sylvie shows more confidence after a very poor starts and wastes no time in closing Tina down but the younger blonde is far from dropping her aggressive stance as well and both girls start another furious exchange much to the Cardiff crowd's delight. There were some question marks why exactly this fight made the card in first place but both blondes keep the excitement factor alive and Tina blasts a hooking combo on Sylvie's face to gain the upperhand this time, follows up on the chest and reels the model back to the ropes, ducks underneath a hooking response and whacks van der Vaart on the jaw to cause the loudest shriek of pain yet, keeps drilling the suddenly hapless looking model on the stomach, makes her drop her arms before more shots on the face leave Sylvie with nasty lumps on both cheeks; O'Brien just doesn't stop with her assault, snaps the older blonde's head back repeatedly and it's back to round one with the Dutch girl soaking up punishment and Tina lets it all hang out, traps her foe on the ropes and pounds away at her chest, pierces the arms and relieves Sylvie of her breath with a bashing display, sinks her on the knees and strikes over the top thereafter. More loud yelp from van der Vaart who loses all her confidence and allows O'Brien to work her over; couple of cross hooks tear the mitts apart and Tina nails her on the jaw right at the bell, leaves Sylvie spinning towards her corner and leaps after her to add more vocal abuse, indicates she's gonna wreck the Dutch model now and even Denise van Outen looks surprised with this sudden comeback.

Round 5:
All about Tina at the start as she charges at her seemingly wounded rival; Sylvie fights back from behind the guard but is forced to weave around on her feet in avoidance as the English blonde keeps peppering her mid-distance, tries to close down again and it's a frantic defence from the Dutch girl who manages to avoid big shots but gets slower on her feet at the round progresses and finally falls into O'Brien's striking distance half-way through, shows improved guard though and leaves Tina bouncing off her forearms. The English girl settles into her rhythm and for once doesn't look that annoyed and just looking to bash leather against her foe's flesh but van der Vaart clinches her in the middle of the ring and refuses to let go; O'Brien can't outsmuscle her and in fact almost gets wrestled to the ground as Sylvie wraps her arms around her neck and ignores the referee's actions. More blatant clinching from her after the command and Tina loses her footing with van der Vaart dragging her down again, ref gives the older blonde a warning but it makes no difference as O'Brien's on the verge of losing her temper now, screams out in frustration and finally manages to stretch her arms, sends overhand leather in close range but misses her foe's head and eats a low jabbing combo in reply; Sylvie moans & groans in exhaustion but drills Tina's guts to push her back and catches some respite as the clock runs down and O'Brien misses a golden chance to really hurt the Dutch model.

Round 6:
Tina's furious over the previous round and jumps after Sylvie again, but gets clipped on the jaw with a wayward hook and wobbles in the middle of the ring as suddenly the older blonde crashes another right hook on the jaw and spins her to the side. Van der Vaart's face has taken more of the punishment so far but she intends to make up for that and buries O'Brien under a vicious flurry of leather, snaps Tina's head back and now the moaning belongs to the English blonde. Sylvie keeps targeting the head and as O'Brien covers up, gets clobbered on the body and screams out in pain again; see-saw action in the card opener as van der Vaart peppers the ribcage and pushes an aching Tina back to the ropes where she continues with the onslaught, pierces the arms thereafter and bounces off the rack to sink the younger blonde down on her knees. O'Brien seeks a clinch herself but can't work around more jabbing on the breasts, bends to the side and gets nailed over the top with another hook, tries to stand tall but Sylvie catches her on the ear and reverts into more body punches in the final minute. Anybody's bout for the taking with Tina's guard getting exposed again and she offers little response to the Dutch model's attacks with Sylvie moaning in exhaustion herself and running out of steam as she just can't land more noteworthy leather on her opponent's face in the dying seconds and just digs her elbow against O'Brien's tummy to cause any sort of pain to her. It seems to have worked as Tina struggles to catch her breath and holds her stomach as she walks back to her corner.

Round 7:
Both girls look tired already after a frantic pace of the fight but Sylvie shows more precision in her attacks and smacks Tina's face to make the younger blonde moan again; overwhelms her in close range and drills her jaw with single uppercuts. O'Brien struggles to raise her arms and van der Vaart makes the most of it, throws more facial leather and breaks the English girl's resilience, pounds away at both her cheeks and lumps Tina up which only fuels her into more attacks. Another shift of power with van der Vaart working the single hand against O'Brien's face and now just thumping vicious leather as Tina reels back to the ropes, wobbles on her feet in wake of the model's charge. She finally manages to cover up but Sylvie reverts into body bashing and peppers her between the arms, tears them apart and whips punches to the chest, has Tina moaning and unable to throw anything back as the midriff assault proves just what the doctored ordered for the Dutch girl who runs out of steam in the final minute again but O'Brien looks spend and soaks up more punishment, leans back on the ropes and clinches Sylvie before eating more quick jabs on the cheeks and just hangs on in the dying seconds but van der Vaart spikes her on the mouth right at the bell and wrestles to the ground moments later as O'Brien's knees give way in ominious fashion.

Round 8:
More trouble for Tina as Sylvie catches her on the fly with a hooking approach and snaps the head back in the middle of the ring. The Dutch model saved more energy in this gruelling contest and simply pounds away at her foe's midriff, just sinking Tina on her knees before switching upstairs again and turning the younger blonde in a proper punch bag as O'Brien's wild hooks are slow and too predictable, slice the air in fruitless fashion and van der Vaart tags her on the chin with a countering series, rocks the head back & forth, adds more lumps on Tina's otherwise roughed up face and finally causes her arms to drop to the side at the minute mark, whacks her on the nose as Tina just can't take it anymore and SLIDES DOWN ON THE CANVAS at her rival's feet. Sylvie breaths very hard herself and is too tired to really celebrate as O'Brien makes a sluggish try to beat the count, up on all fours at five, she springs back upright at seven and indicates she wants to continue but her eyes are misty and ref doesn't like it. Tina holds back the tears but wobbles onto the ropes again, legs offer no support despite the adrenaline rush and she drops onto her knees for the second time in quick succession, even without the aid of Sylvie's gloves, leans her head against the canvas and bursts into tears as the Dutch model thumps her into submission and walks away victorious... TKO8 Sylvie van der Vaart!!!

AFTER: Gruesome contest has finally been settled in favor of the older blonde who took some punishment during the course of the fight but managed to relieve the English actress of her breath and simply punched her to the ground in the end. There were no earlier knockdowns as both girls showed exceptional punching resistance but perhaps they don't punch as hard as some of the other flyweights, yet the ammount of abuse was eventually too much for one of them and despite a very aggressive approach and the promise to destroy Sylvie, it was Tina who crumbled onto her knees and just couldn't continue.

While van der Vaart requires some patch work on her swollen face, she dwells on the crowd's applause; all those cuts and lumps mean she earned her money hard tonight and judging by O'Brien shape, she won't be feeling that much downbeat despite some rough time in the ring. Back in the locker room she bumps into Danielle Lineker who is scheduled to fight later on the card and they exchange few words but Sylvie can't shrug off the feeling that her presence bothers the Welsh brunette model and something must be done about this in the upcoming weeks.
