BEFORE:

"Well," says a smiling Paulina, "The fact is, there's NOTHING I can't do better than Brooklyn Decker. I'm a thousand times hotter, a better singer, a better model, and a better actress. And, tonight, I'll prove I'm a better FIGHTER, too."

"How good can this girl be," says Brooklyn with a smirk. "SWAN beat her."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Collecting Dust' you hear, and here comes the singer of that tune, the lovely Paulina Gretzky, accompanied, of course, by her mother, Janet Jones, who was a feared fighter in her day..."

Tess: "And looks like she could still go a few rounds."

Cassie: "She's only 52, not that much older than MAC..."

McCarthy: "I am 40, you little TWERP, and I'd say you'd be lucky to look THIS good when you're MY age, but you don't look this good NOW!"

O'Dell(sighing): "Gretzky into the ring. Helped off with the robe by mom to reveal a sea foam green bikini that gets a rise out of the crowd and down go the lights. Cue the laser show..."

McCarthy: "Ridiculous!"

O'Dell: "And, to the familiar strains of 'Also Sprach Zarathustra', here comes 'The 21st Century Goddess', Brooklyn Decker!"

McCarthy: "Weirdo should have built a bigger ring for this one, because there isn't going to be room for the fighters AND their egos in there..."

O'Dell: "Decker into the ring. Helped off with the robe by Jewel and Britney to reveal that yellow number the crowd likes. And, the ladies are about ready to go, so it's time for some picks. Tess likes Decker in this one, how about you, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Well, as I've said before, Decker is overrated. However, Gretzky doesn't have an FCBA win and has an opinion of herself that's more heavily inflated than the Scooby Doo balloon on Thanksgiving. I'm going with Decker."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess."

McCarthy: "We picked the SAME..."

O'Dell: "And there's the bell for the first and Gretzky firing away at Decker right off the bell! Paulina going all in in the opening seconds, bombing away with heavy leather, backing Decker up..."

McCarthy: "Now, here's something I wouldn't have expected..."

O'Dell: "Gretzky rolling the dice and she's coming up with a natural. Decker giving ground, covering up, not engaging..."

Tess: "Got to wonder if she's got Lima in her head right now, Mac..."

McCarthy: "I think that's EXACTLY what's at play here, and this is an EXCELLENT strategy by Gretzky's corner, no doubt thought up by her mother."

O'Dell: "It's working just the way whoever came up with it planned. Decker giving ground, countering on occasion, but mostly being suppressed. Gretzky not super accurate, but she is landing some of the heavy shell. Decker keeping the hands up, backing up, making no effort to hold canvas. Gretzky getting the back and hips into every punch, turning up the heat."

Cassie: "Front Street corner going to have a talk with Brooke between rounds. She's doing almost nothing in there."

O'Dell: "And Paulina Gretzky doing plenty. Fires off a final flurry at the bell, then prances back to her corner, clearly pleased with herself."

Tess: "She should be. She controlled the round and has the early 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Back to work in the second and Decker sticking out the left hand, moving the head, still not doing much. Gretzky bouncing forward, letting the hands go, slugging away for points. Brooke covering up, giving ground, lots of caution from the Front Streeter right now..."

McCarthy: "Too much caution. I understood it in the first round. Gretzky was going to gamble, don't buy in, play it safe. But you can't keep playing peek-a-boo with her all night."

O'Dell: "Decker pawing, looking, not letting the hands go. Gretzky keeping at her, bouncing in, banging away. Decker tying her up and shoving her off."

Tess: "Got to think Paulina's gaining confidence here, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Absolutely. When you get into a fight where you're the underdog, and, that never happened to ME, of course, but, when you do and you start doing well, you start thinking, 'Hey, I can handle her. She's not that big a deal.' And I think that's what's happening with Gretzky right now. She's thinking, 'I'm as good as she is. All I have to do is fight my fight and I'll beat her.'"

O'Dell: "Not sure if that's what Paulina's thinking, but it's definitely what she's DOING. Gretzky fighting her fight right now, and as the final seconds tick off with more pawing and looking from Decker, Paulina's won her second round in a row."

Cassie: "20-18 through two, and Gretzky again looking plenty pleased with herself on the way back to her corner."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third round begins with a big flurry from Gretzky...and an answering barrage from Decker! Paulina backed up a step as Brooke let's 'em go for the first time!"

Cassie: "Gretzky does NOT want to stand in and slug with Decker. Not going to be good for her health!"

O'Dell: "But Paulina bounces forward and goes to work again. Again Decker not covering up, answering back with some heavy shots of her own. Decker backs Gretzky up a step, but Paulina steps forward and fires right back!"

Tess: "Crowd LOVING this! Spirited two way strapping!"

O'Dell: "And neither girl willing to back down. Gretzky not punking in the face of spirited resistance from Decker. Brooke determined to impose will. Managing again to back up Gretzky with a flurry, but Paulina right back at her. The crowd roaring as they fire away right to the bell!"

McCarthy: "Good work from Gretzky again, but Decker got the points."

Tess: "Which makes it 30-29 through three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth round begins with another heavy exchange between the two blonde beauties. Decker again backing up Gretzky, and now Brooke beginning to bang home that big left jab..."

Tess: "It's a very HEAVY jab Brooke throws, just like a lot of the other Front Street bigs. It's VERY stiff, as Paulina can attest about now."

O'Dell: "Decker using that jab to back Paulina up and suppress her offense. The early sluggishness is long gone for Decker now as she begins to take control of the ring."

Cassie: "THIS is the Brooklyn we're used to seeing. Using her size and power and that heavy shell to impose will on her opponents. Gretzky getting a face full of leather every time she tries to get something going."

O'Dell: "Decker coming forward, taking canvas away from Gretzky. Paulina backing and covering as Decker pounds away at her defenses with the big guns. Gretzky continuing to try to rally, but Decker puts every uprising down with a vicious barrage of leather. Final seconds of the round see Brooke back Paulina into the ropes and bang a little body to the bell!"

Tess: "Great round for Decker."

McCarthy: "And she's evened the cards at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Into the fifth round now and Brooklyn Decker continuing to pound away with that heavy left hand. Gretzky again being forced to cede canvas. Decker methodical, setting up good right hands with that left...AND GRETZKY ROCKS HER WITH A RIGHT HAND! GOOD SHOT FROM PAULINA!"

McCarthy: "Decker a little too aggressive right there, walked into the short right!"

O'Dell: "And Paulina going all in now, banging away at a wobbly Decker. Gretzky firing bombs from all angles, looking to finish here. Decker in full retreat now, hands high, being driven back under sustained shelling from Paulina! Brooke backed into the ropes and Gretzky really going to work!"

McCarthy: "Paulina throwing everything in! Flailing away with both hands. Determined to get Decker out of there!"

O'Dell: "Gretzky a good left...AND DOWN SHE GOES! DECKER THE RIGHT HOOK OFF THE ROPES AND GRETZKY DROPPED TO HER GLUTES!"

Cassie: "Now that's some one-shot power right there! From 'I'm coming for you' to 'Have a seat' in about one second!"

O'Dell: "Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Gretzky to her feet at eight. Taking the mandatory while she tries to shake this off. Ref going to let it continue and here comes Decker, again to the left hand, lands a solid right that wobbled Gretzky...but there's the bell. Fifth round comes to an end, and, what looked like it was going to be banked for Paulina goes to Brooke."

Tess: "I'm betting you're only scoring it 10-9, though, Mac..."

McCarthy: "You're learning, Walmart. Those were Gretzky's points until the knockdown, so Decker gets the round, but not the 10-8."

Tess: "Which makes the score 48-47 for Brooke with five to go."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth round starts with Decker right back to that big left hand. Decker again methodically using it to preempt Gretzky, back her up, set her up for right hands..."

Cassie: "Got to like what's happening here if you're in Decker's corner. Started a bit sluggishly, but then took control. Got in some trouble, but roared back with a knockdown. And now she's walking this girl down and shelling her. This is good stuff."

Tess: "Stuff that makes Wiz think she can be a champion..."

McCarthy: "Weirdo thinks ALL his Dancing Hookers can be champions, but, in most cases, he's full of it. Know who's a champion? Adrianne Palicki. Gena Lee Nolin. Olivia Munn. Know what THEY all have in common?"

Cassie: "They have a pompous windbag for a trainer?"

McCarthy: "They all fight for a REAL stable, Sceej Boxing. Oh, and SHUT UP, SCABBO!"

O'Dell: "Decker in complete control of the ring right now. Using that jab to move Paulina where she wants her. Squaring her up, dropping in right hands. Gretzky making some brief stands, but unable to exchange long before being driven off by superior weight of shot."

McCarthy: "Give Gretzky credit for being game. She's not running."

O'Dell: "She is not, but she's walking backward because Decker's walking forward behind the jab. Brooke with a hard right hand that sent sweat flying, double taps the jab and there's the bell. Shutout round for Decker, ladies."

Tess: "And Brooke's now built a bit of a cushion, up 58-56 with four to go."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh round underway and we've got a locked-in Brooklyn Decker banging home that sledgehammer left."

Cassie: "This is the Decker that Milena Govich saw. Using the feet to angle, square up, land the left hand for points. Gretzky all defense right now. Can't get off."

O'Dell: "Decker keeping up a steady shelling, walking Gretzky down. Nothing sluggish about the effort now."

McCarthy: "And, as encouraging as the first couple of rounds were for Gretzky, this is like an underdog football team scoring a TD on the opening drive only to have the favorite ram the ball down their throats about three drives in a row..."

O'Dell: "Plenty of compete still in Gretzky, though. Firing back in spots, but just not able to get much done. Decker banging home more right hands as the round goes along, forcing Gretzky backward in the closing seconds, hooking body at the bell. Another shutout round Brookie D."

Tess: "68-65 Decker now, with three to go."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Eighth round begins with more pressure from Decker. Brooke working behind the left jab, moving Paulina with it. Gretzky again forced over to the defensive, backing and covering as Decker controls the ring."

McCarthy: "Paulina has to renegotiate terms here. Got to do something to disrupt Decker, because she's ranged in right now."

O'Dell: "Paulina backed up with a straight left, Gretzky a right-left AND DOWN SHE GOES!"

Cassie: "Overhand right from Decker. Right past the left hand!"

O'Dell: "Gretzky spilled to her back, head lolling back and forth. Decker to a neutral corner. Referee's count at four. Five. Six. Seven..."

McCarthy: "We could play hide and seek and count to a hundred..."

O'Dell: "Nine. Ten! It's over! And your winner by KO8 is 'The 21st Century Goddess', Brooklyn Decker!"

Tess: "Let's check the replay on the right hand. Watch Gretzy throw the right hand counter, then here comes a left hook. And that left is barely moving when Brooke throws the right. BOOM! Paulina's head swivels and this fight is over."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I've got our winner, Brooklyn Decker, and a bit of a slow start for you Brooke..."

Brooklyn: "Well, I hadn't been in for a bit, so I needed a little time to get in rhythm."

Tess: "You weren't concerned when she took the first two?"

Brooklyn(smiling): "Not at ALL. I knew she was going out of there tonight. Sooner or later, I was getting her. And she knew it too. She knew who she was in there with. 'The 21st Century Goddess', the best model in FCBA history, the FCBA's next great big girl. THAT'S who she was fighting, and she couldn't HANDLE me. NONE of them can. NONE of them!"
