Before: Both girls part of the same promotional outfit - fight easy to make, lucrative for both parties, but money aside, both girls desperately need a W. Painfully aware of how their reputations have slipped at the fists of younger celebs, neither can afford to look bad against the other tonight. Bobbie in purple bikini, Janine in black push up, red bikini bottoms.

During R1 Bobbie exposing her chin dangerously, keys on Janine's solar plexus with reaching lefts and rights, jerking her fists into the brunette's body, thumbs up, and Turner groans as she goes to all fours to open the bout. Phillips smacking her gloves together, eyes bright with anticipation, gets back on Turner after she rises, pounding with those ponderous lefts and rights to the midsection. Turner grimacing, pulling back, stumbles to the ropes, hunched over as Bobbie piles on, and Janine takes a knee to relieve the pressure. Final minute all Bobbie P as she swarms, clubbing her fists wide against Turner's huddled body at the bell. Bobbie greatly encouraged as Janine seems ready to cry with disappointment.

R2 Bobbie ain't fixin what ain't broken, plunging her fists into Janine's waist, but standing straight up, chin out, and finally Turner is able to capitalize. A looping right hand counter on the jaw sits Bobbie down midway through the round, and those big violet eyes swim as she gets shakily to her feet. Bobbie wobbly butt, is bulled to the ropes, and Turner feasts on the tummy with lefts and rights, punches landing with meaty plops as Phillips sags forward.

R3 Both girls shredded, fighting hurt. Bobbie on her heels, pokes a couple jabs into Janine, then gets tackled to the ropes where Turner can swarm with slapping lefts and rights. Janine looks better, forcing Bobbie around the ring, but in the final minute, Phillips able to catch Janine barging in with a looping right uppercut, putting Turner wobbly butt as she clinches.

R4 Action slowing, the girls punching then falling in to clinch. Midway through the round, Bobbi lights Janine up with the right uppercut again, and walks her back as Janine holds on hurt. Bobbie using her shoulder, shucks Janine back into the ropes, and jerks that nice left hook into the belly again to fold Turner up at the bell.

R5 Turner with a compact guard, crouch, turns with Bobbie's straight punches, coming back underneath with short lefts and rights, and Phillips backs off with teeth bared, favouring her ribs. Turner stalking, but Bobbie doing a nice job with the jab, punching at the right time and messing up Turner's timing.

R6 Bobbie now in control with her reach, keeping a fading Turner outside with a pushing jab, and spanking up Janine's face with straight right hands. Turner grateful for clinches, and allowing herself to be pushed back as Bobbi squares up and fights at her own pace with no pressure from JT this round.

R7 Janine with a little more aggression to start, lands a swiping one two across Bobbie's lap, but then falls in to clinch. Midway through the round, Bobbie bangs back Janine's head with another looping right uppercut, and Turner looks shopworn. Janine in retreat crosses her arms, closes her eyes as Bobbie whips up with wide lefts and rights to the bell.

R8 Bobbie touching Janine to the stomach, has Turner bending forward, hands across her gut, practically begging for the uppercut. Phillips obliges, touching Turner's face with the timing jab, then turning the left over into a scraping uppercut which has Janine shaken up. Bobbie doubling and tripling the left uppercut breaks Turner down, and Janine reels to the ropes with a hopeless expression. Bobbie chasing her down, feet wide, cranks away with wide lefts and rights, overwhelming Turner's crossed arm guard. Janine sinks to one knee, and refuses to continue - KO7 Bobbie Phillips.

After: She didn't beat King Kong, but Phillips records a win in which she did a lot of nice things. Good punch selection, nice ring management against an opponent who didn't have the skills or heart necessarily to get Bobbie out of her comfort zone. Turner badly battered, looks like she just got chewed up by one of the greats, and leaves the ring in tears.
