Before: Syren jumping back into the ring following a merciless and some say uncalled for beating at the hands of Cindy Margolis, takes on the matriarch of Club Beautiful in what should be a power punching festival. Both girls like to stand and plant, Syren maybe a little more varied, Tweed a little more powerful. Syren in yellow sports bra, green Adidas terrycloth trunks, Tweed in white sports bra, light blue Adidas trunks.

During R1: Great opener for Shannon, who gets into a nice rhythm early, jabbing with Syren, then beating her to her right cross as both women gamble. Midway through, Tweed taking a half step back walks Syren onto the big right hand, sending the brunette reeling to the ropes with a stunned expression. Good finishing minute for Tweed who bodies up, using her forehead and forearm to shove Syren back for a thumping two fisted attack to the waist. Round to Shannon, who wheels away from the ropes with a sunny, confident smile.

R2: Syren's turn as she makes the big blonde move her feet, stepping to the right, feeding Tweed jabs and opening up an angle for that whistling right cross. Shannon getting nailed repeatedly can't cut off the ring and by the final minute looks ragged. Syren jumps in behind a sizzling right hand to the jaw, then drives a hurting Tweed the length of the ring with a walking barrage of lefts and rights. Bad beating for Tweed on the ropes, she sways forward and back, right hand at her chin left across her gut, trying to shoulder Syren off her as the brunette launches clubbing lefts and rights to the bell.

R3: Both girls miss with wild left hooks, then Tweed beats Syren to the right hand and SYREN GOES DOWN! Rolling onto her back, Syren shakes her head as she was caught mid punch, gets to her feet in good order. Rest of the round is grim give and take each girl standing her ground, Syren working up the middle behind a good jab, Tweed working off wide body shots to land right hand uppercuts to the chest and chin.

R4, 5: Tweed separating herself a little, thumping solid one-twos off Syren's waist then nudging the brunette back with the shoulder. Syren not busy enough in these rounds, but doing a good job defensively in blocking or glancing a lot of Tweed's predictable, if heavy leather.

R6: Syren fighting at close range, guard up, taking Tweed's body shots on her elbows then countering with short chopping lefts and rights to Shannon's available face. Syren doing the damage this round, patiently timing Tweed and putting her mitts on the big blonde's face with consistency.

R7: Still at close range, but Tweed digging her way into Syren's gut with the bludgeoning left uppercut, clouting right on the ear routine. Girls can touch and push off with shoulders, but not a lot of clinching as they work, get off, step right as Shannon initiates most of the action.

R8: Tweed still the busier fighter, busting to Syren's body with digging sidearm rights and that left uppercut, but the brunette is in counter punching mode, soaking it up, biding her time and midway through the round she cracks Shannon with a glorious left/right on the chin that has the big blonde stepping in fence post holes. Syren unable to capitalize, Tweed content to clinch the brawny brunette as the two tumble along the ropes, grapple to the bell.

R9: Good even slogging, both girls working methodically, heads tucked, punches short and crisp to the midsection, working up the torso to land solidly against the crown of the head. Tweed takes a workmanlike ninth as the girls slowly rotate, taking turns getting off in phone-booth late action.

R10: They meet at center ring, go shoulder to shoulder and the slogging continues. Nice pace for both women as they hunker down, snap off quick banging bursts, then take their medicine in kind. Syren outhustles a flagging Tweed down the stretch - round ends up with Shannon seated on the ropes, leaning into Syren, pushing her back as the brunette beats it out of the blonde's belly to the finish. Long delay as the scores are tallied, but it comes back a unanimous duke Shannon Tweed.

After: Knockdown the difference in an otherwise close, evenly matched bout. Little to choose between two solidly built older women, neither afraid to take a punch to land one, Tweed with the strong start did just enough down the stretch to eke out the W. Post fight Shannon gives Syren props, but makes no mistake about mentioning who the better woman is throughout the interview.
