BBU FIGHT NIGHT FROM CARDIFF

(Lioness Club vs Girls Friday)

Next up sees the clash between a German singer and a Polish dancer. Both girls are pretty, petite blondes, and both seem inconsistent – Ola was really fancied to be a contender at flyweight, but a run of three defeats cast doubt on her ability, although she won her last two fights, the latest a good win against Esther Anderson. Jeanette has lost a disastrous six in a row, although she has taken on some top girls in that run.

Jeanette’s first in the ring, looking good in scarlet bra, white knickers, scarlet gloves and boots. Ola wears a baby blue one piece, with matching gloves and boots – and maybe she shades the beauty contest!

Round 1

The girls are starting this fight really quietly, neither seeming to be taking the initiative, tentative jabs being poked out towards, rather that into each other’s face, but now Jeanette starts to get in closer, lands a good left jab – then eats a double from Ola which sets her backwards. Ola now comes in to punish Jeanette, but the German’s ready for her, and she gets her punches in first, whipping her left hook over Ola’s guard, then her right under it, both punches finding Ola’s lovely face, and the dancer retreats quickly, staying away from Jeanette now as the older girl lands a couple of glancing blows to her head, and one good one to her ribs.

Round 2

And Ola picks up the pace a little now, stepping into Jeanette, burying a left jab in her face, and following that with a sustained beating on the German’s body, the older girl panting and grunting as she feels those blows, and she isn’t really getting away from the punishment, just taking little stuttering steps back, trying to cover at first, and now she clinches hard, the girl breathing deeply, clearly hurt by that assault, and looking at her corner fro support. There’s not much they can do, as Ola starts on Jenaette again after the referee resets the pair, and she’s really moving, this dancer, skipping around Jeanette now, and smacking punches into her face, Jeanette’s attempts at retaliation just too slow as she gets outpaced.

Round 3

This is Ola doing what she does so well in the boxing ring – she’s almost literally dancing around Jeanette now, stabbing her face with her left jab, then switching before Jeanette can react, stabbing her now with her right jab – and Jeanette’s face is already red and grazed, Ola’s gloves marking her up nastily in a very short space of time. Jeanette’s trying to fight back, but she just isn’t quick enough against this type of attack, and again Ola works her body, really hurting the German – and enjoying it – which Jeanette isn’t as she rocks backwards eats a right in her mouth, and a left, followed by a right to her body, and that’s a second bad round for Jeanette.

Round 4

Ola’s back into her routine, knocking Jeanette’s head back with a series of jabs, with Jeanette backing off or standing still and taking them. But Ola’s slowing down a little – even she can’t dance and jab forever – and at last Jeanette can land her own punches, connecting with a left jab, and following that with a right hook to Ola’s body, the dancer recoiling, and Jeanette following, hitting the Polish beauty with a good left hook to the side of her head, and she staggers a little, but manages to hold when Jeanette gets in closer, clinches, and once the referee has parted, then reset the girls, it’s Ola who lands the punches again, skimming Jeanette’s cheek with a left hook, cracking her to the ribs with a right, and she’s ending the round as she started it, snapping Jeanette’s head backwards with her jabs.

Round 5

Jeanette’s face is looking rather sore now, but she’s still trying to make a fight of this, but she just isn’t landing her punches, because Ola’s too quick for her, and the older girl’s punching air, then finding her own face on the receiving end of a flurry of jabs, which results in her sagging backwards into the ropes again, allowing Ola to come in and pepper her body. Ola’s standing back again now, though – she’s admiring her work like an artist, Jeanette’s left eyebrow now cut, the blood running down her nose, and she seems to be urging the referee to stop the fight – but regrets that immediately as the German belts her with a left hook to her body, and she’s happy to hold on until the bell ends another easy round.

Round 6

Ola looks more businesslike again now – Taryn Terrell gave her a slap across the face during the interval for easing off – and she’s giving Jeanette a beating again, the German’s eye opening up again. Ola sends two good punches into Jeanette’s ribs, then puts her down with a right hook to the jaw, Jeanette getting up again at 8, insisting she’s capable of fighting on. The referee accepts her decision, and she pokes out a jab at Ola, who responds by smacking the older girl’s head side to side with a left, then a right – and now the referee does intervene, and it’s over!

Result: Ola Jordan stopped Jeanette Biedermann in round 6.

So Ola’s recovery continues, and Jeanette has a seventh straight defeat on her record. Ola hugs Jeanette after the fight, and she holds the girl’s glove aloft in respect for her bravery.
