BBU & ACB present "The Ashes 2013" - Day One

It's the final bout on the first day of the Ashes and the Oz contingent, trailing 3-5 through eight bouts, has no other option but to pull within one point of their English rivals courtesy of the undefeated BBU welterweight champion Erika Heynatz. Her opponent or as Kylie Minogue likes to say, "cannon fodder" is Jaye Jacobs who fought the fersome Aussie for the BBU title in January and lasted four rounds before getting knocked out in straight-forward fashion.

It's been a long & eventful day in London but Elle MacPherson and Yvonne Strahovski lead the applause for the 37 year old blonde and quite frankly Jacobs looks a bit overwhelmed with the champion's presence while Liz Hurley and Geri Halliwell urge her to salvage any pride for the locals and reduce the damage as much as possible. After the Ricki-Lee Coulter disaster there's a significant omission in the ACB corner as Nikki Visser has gone MIA and while Sarah Cummings has the details, there's no way Georgie Thompson can find out about them before the action gets underway in the ring. But Charlie Webster indicates that Sarah Cummings owes her one and will report all the spicy bits later...

Meanwhile in the BBU TV booth even the proudest of English blondes, Denise van Outen must admit that Jacobs' victory would be one of the upsets of the year; Kylie Minogue just nods her head in approval and gives her fellow commentator a shove in the elbow but doubts Erika will be able to better Nicola McLean's epic KO1 destruction of Coulter. "We might give that one away, Denise! I personally will lose some money over this, I had Erika the fastest KO of the Ashes long in the books!"

Erika Heynatz wearing a golden bikini top, black knickers and green gloves. Blonde hair in loose curls. Jaye Jacobs wearing a silver basque top, black knickers and red gloves. Dark brown hair straight.

Round 1:
Erika leaps after her foe and immediately begins to pepper her midriff as Jaye is encouraged to fight back in front of her home crowd but eats a low series on the navel and bends forward as Heynatz slams more leather over the top and reels the English girl back to the ropes within the opening minute. She hammers away from both flanks and just traps a hapless looking Jacobs on the ropes, cross-hooks her guard and crashes off the cheeks, snaps Jaye's head back and the Foxfire vixen starts to whimper early with Erika drilling her mouth thereafter and just rocking her head back & forth as Jacobs' hands can barely stay upright and she gets nailed on the mouth again at the two minute mark and develops a split lip already with the blonde dropping her onslaught, perhaps a sign of mercy, or simply the champion wants to actually spend some time in the ring. She thumps Jaye on the stomach again and leaves her trembling but then steps back and allows her to survive the opening round. Quick look in the ACB VIP lounge where Yvonne and Elle exchange a telling eye.

Round 2:
Heynatz in rampant mood at the start of the second, ducks underneath a hollow approach from Jacobs and blasts a right hook on the jaw that just staggers the English girl on her knees and more shots over the top give her another head-snapping experience. Erika powers through the arms and rocks the jugs as Jacobs trips towards the ropes and just can't do anything in the ring here as Heynatz nails her on the mouth and opens the wound again; vicious display from the champion now as she thumps Jacobs on the eye and makes her scream in pain. Now things turn ugly as Nikki Visser urges Erika to destroy Jaye and she obeys, splits her mitts with ease and cracks another jabbing combo on the jaw and spins the local girl onto the ropes; Jaye half-turns away from her nemesis, can't get out of reach though and blonde uppercuts the jaw again... twice even and just sends JACOBS TUMBLING ONTO HER FACE.... Furious display from the best welter in BBU and poor Jaye barely tries to beat the count as she's up on all fours but there's blood dripping from her busted lip and even for the pride of the Ashes, she doesn't want to endure anymore of this... Ref counts her out on her knees and ACB forges ahead to close Day One activity... KO2 Erika Heynatz!!!

AFTER: It was always a question of when will Erika finish Jaye off and the ACB team looks much happier with the closing bout of the night than they were after the Coulter disaster. But there's no over the top reactions from Elle and Yvonne since Heynatz winning was indeed the safest bet on the Aussie side.

Several BBU executives tried to prevent the visitors from fielding their most imposing member on the card but at the end of the day it was inevitable and all credit to Jaye Jacobs for answering the challenge. Even with her experience though, she just couldn't do anything against the blonde champion, like so many women before her, and quite frankly she can be pleased with a mere busted up lip tonight escpecially considering what Delta Goodrem did to Catherine Tyldesley earlier.

We're half way through the Ashes and the hosts lead 5-4. Please join us tomorrow for the second day of this ultra exciting event with that Charlie Webster special report still looming on the evening news.

Final result: Erika Heynatz def. Jaye Jacobs KO2.
