BBU & ACB present "The Ashes 2013" - Day Two

Following last night's upheaval among the ACB coaching staff, Kylie Minogue promises to kick off the second day of the Ashes in a mighty fashion despite the presence of the still undefeated Jade Ewen on the BBU side of the ring. Jade was perhaps unlucky to miss out on a flyweight title eliminator earlier this year when Mikie Hara and Amela Lily Oliver tangled but if she continues to perform like she did since her debut, she's destined to have her shot at the straps soon. And beating Havana Brown looks good on anyone's resume!

The Aussie singer is well known for the durability and punch resistance but hasn't fought since February when she knocked Sandy Moelling out in five rounds. Both camps label this fight as a real sleeper on the Ashes schedule and the Wembley Arena crowd agrees, they roar in support of Havana, those blonde flyweights look stunning wherever they come from, but Jade steals all the headlines moments later and that's no wonder since she's from East London and always gets a massive support on home turf.

Liz Hurley tries to tease Elle MacPherson with more obscene gestures but loses her plot when Kimberly Davies shoves The Body away and throws the English model a proper death stare. "I guess Liz wouldn't enjoy getting her face pummelled by Kim!", Kylie tries to keep the Aussie spirits high as Denise van Outen fires back: "I just hope Davies didn't confuse Jade Ewen with Alexandra Burke!" to address the removal of Nikki Visser from the ACB corner tonight; Kylie has no answer but the uneasy silence in the booth is eventually interrupted by the opening bell.

Havana Brown wearing a black basque top, golden knickers and golden gloves. Jade Ewen wearing a pink & white schemed bikini and blue gloves.

Round 1:
Jade immediately begins stalking the blonde with some precise jabbing but meets response over the top and gets nailed on the mouth before tagging Havana on her own, couple of quick hooks slam against the visitor's cheeks but do little harm and Brown keeps dishing out punishment, switches low and goes around the elbows, stuns Ewen in close range and whacks her on the ribs which sends the East Londoner back. She tries to launch a counter attack but gets beaten for an overhand hook and Havana pierces her guard with a big jab on the mouth, whips an uppercut on the jaw and sends Jade spinning onto the ropes much to the crowd's horror. Brown leaps after the local favorite who hasn't recovered from that series yet and tags her on the mouth again as she finds a way between the arms; wide slapping on the head follows as Ewen gets pinned on the turnbuckle but gets an early lifeline with the clock running out moments later. Kimberly Davies shakes her fist in the ACB corner and that was a better round from the visitors than anyone inside the Arena predicted!

Round 2:
Brown visibly boosted by that opening, closes Jade down early and targets her head again but the undefeated singer doesn't need more warnings than she received already. She blocks the blonde's efforts and strikes back over the top, fails to catch Havana's head though and eats low jabbing on the ribcage as the ACB faithful shows some strenght and tactical ability, pushes Jade back towards the ropes with a spirited charge, weaves away from a dangerous uppercut attempt and sags Ewen on her knees with a massive left hook on the jaw as she slips under the arms and bangs the Londoner clean. More trouble for Jade follows as she gets thumped on the navel and opens her eyes really wide, Havana in ferocious mood, keeps lashing out at her and pins on the ropes late in the round again, hammers away at the midriff and tags Ewen's jugs, wins another close range battle and even Denise van Outen must admit the upset may well be on the cards; Kylie sports a huge smile and gives a well deserved thumbs up to Yvonne Strahovski in the nearby VIP lounge.

Round 3:
Jade's surprisingly poor start forces her into a determined attack as she staggers the blonde with a hooking combo on the chest but misses an uppercut follow up and Havana leaps at her instead, both girls bounce off each others' jugs before Brown cracks a left hook on the eye and makes her rival moan, follows up on the tummy and pierces Jade's defence, reels her back with a sheer ammount of leather and pins on the ropes right after the minute mark with the East Londoner just trying to clinch her but to no avail. Another uppercut slams against Ewen's chin thereafter and Brown leans on her and keeps pounding away at the rack, has the English vixen bouncing off the ropes and missing more hooks on the head.. left hook on the eye instead and Havana now works the single hand on target, gives Jade a nasty swelling by the final minute and whacks her with a wide right on the temple before Ewen can finally clinch her but the blonde shows more strenght and turns her foe on the turnbuckle, whips more low jabs on the stomach and has Jade on wobbly legs at the bell! What is going on here?

Round 4:
Furious start from the blonde as Kimberly Davies orders her girl to really hurt the BBU starlet and more jabs crash off Ewen's tummy before Brown clips her on the rack and wobbles in the middle of the ring. Jade sends more low jabs herself but Havana's ribcage shows no signs of damage and the close range battle falls into the blonde's hands anyway as he counters over the top and slams more leather on Jade's right eye, tears her skin just underneath and the proud East Londoner begins to bleed as it only fuels Brown's anger and she slices between her arms again, lands a right/left hooking combo on the mouth and sags Ewen on her knees again. More strikes over the top follow, Jade weaves around on her feet in avoidance but has her head snapped back repeatedly anyway and falls on the ropes late on as the blonde pours in with more onslaught, thankfully crashes off the forearms for once and enables Ewen to clinch her before the bell; still takes another round and Liz Hurley leaves her post and hands over to Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham as the flyweight ferocity proves too much for the veteran model's skills tonight.

Round 5:
Jade looks very much second hand physically but Posh tells her to attack the blonde anyway, questionable tactics against someone who has a history of getting mauled into exhaustion rathert than beaten by a single barrage of punches but that's Jade's style and she opens the fifth almost in need of a haymaker already and that's totally against the odds. Whatever the advice Ewen got, she just can't land anything noteworthy on her foe and keeps grazing her flesh instead, bounces off the gloves and eats a spiking combo over the top; Havana in methodical mode, aware of her increasing advantage and just sends another flurry of punches with Jade nearly losing her feet and it's painful to watch for some of the home fans as Ewen reverts to circling away from the visiting blonde who drops her pace a bit, nobody can run at full gear all the way through a fight and Denise van Outen is happy the round ends on a low-key fashion as Jade finally got some respite but perhaps it was only thanks to Havana's own gameplan and a calm before the storm.

Round 6:
Here comes the storm as Havana leaps after Jade moments from the bell and nails her on the left eye with a piercing hook, that's the Londoner's weak spot and she criminally failed to protect it, "Way to go, Posh", an angry scream from Denise on play-by-play and Brown keeps harrassing Jade's eye before most of the fans know it, couple of nasty hooks turn the Sugababes singer to the side and expose her for an overhand flick... Brown pours in with more jabs on the mouth and simply batters Ewen woozy in the middle of the ring as another sudden flurry of punches catches the local favorite off guard... AND JADE GOES DOWN ON HER BACKSIDE with Brown's onlaught finally proving too much! Massive roar from the ACB entourage as Geri shoves Posh away from her post and now it's her time to take over the lead coaching role. Jade looks stunned by that knockdown rather than hurt but Brown seems hardly impressed and whips more overhands on the head, reels the undefeated girl on the ropes and switches low for some tummy assault with Jade gasping for air and moaning in pain; Brown pounds away at her midriff to secure yet another round and the BBU camp must brace themselves for a shocking start to Day Two of the Ashes according to Kylie. Somehow there are very few people in the Wembley Arena ready to question that remark!

Round 7:
Jade's hurting and offers little speed across the canvas with Havana up at her body again and just pummelling around the elbows to stagger the aching Sugababe on her knees. More strikes on the head follows and it's a brutal display from the blonde who pierces the mitts and punishes the wounded eye again, works the single hand and makes Jade crouch in agony; she lands another hooking combo on the temples, makes Ewen's arms drop and whips a fine uppercut on the nose. Jade loses her footing and turns her back to the rampant blonde who whacks her on the back of the head and sends hanging on the ropes... that was uncalled for and the ref drags Havana away and takes away a point from her score with immediate effect... but that hardly annoys Davies and MacPherson and even the otherwise firey Brown who leaps after Ewen straight away, bangs more hooks on the head and increases that swelling around the right eye to a golf-ball size, non-stop punishment from the blonde who keeps reducing Jade into a messy pulp and at the bell the proud Sugababe looks like she's had enough of this.

Round 8:
Hectic work on Jade's eye injury and she doesn't look like turning this bout in her favor with any haymaker there is in the book; the fire is gone from her eyes as the vision of the first career defeat is almost ineviteable. But she refuses to quit on her stool, not in her London backyard on The Ashes of all events and makes it back for the eight. Havana offers little sympathy and sticks to her jabbing punishment; she traps a slow moving Ewen in the middle of the ring with a series on the tummy, flicks a quick uppercut on the jaw and has Jade wobbling from side to side and struggling for balance. More hooks on the face follow and the golf-ball size swelling suffers another spiking; Brown turns Jade's eyes into a bloody mess and the Sugababe singer just can't take this anymore, she gets her gloves shoved into her face as Havana pounds her to the ropes again and whacks between the arms, targets that injured eye... sends more jabs with no reply whatsoever and Ewen yells out all her misery, gets nailed on the chin for her troubles AND TUMBLES ONTO HER KNEES moments later as Brown threatens to blow the doors off her in brutal fashion!!! Jade's on all fours and shakes her head, what a terrible night for one of BBU's hottest prospects, she somehow makes it back to her feet at eight, but her right eye is swollen shut and she shakes her head when asked by the ref is she wants to continue... TKO8 Havana Brown!!!

AFTER: There was an upset on Day One opening with Heidi Range knocking out Lisa Gleave and this is another one. A very bitter pill to swallow for the BBU camp as Jade Ewen suffers the first defeat of her career however she was totally overwhelmed by Havana Brown tonight and Denise van Outen accepts the blonde singer's superiority, "The result is a shock for all BBU fans but looking back at the fight, Havana won all the rounds bar the fifth when she was taking it easy on purpose. I've never seen Jade looking so lacklustre and even if she suffers more defeats in the future, it will be very hard for anyone to better Havana's performance! She effectively destroyed Jade tonight and beat her eye swollen shut in brutal fashion!"

Meanwhile Kimberly Davies nods back towards the VIP lounge where Yvonne Strahovski applauds her compatriots' outstanding success and if removing Nikki Visser from her post threatened to derail ACB's mindset, everyone in the Wembley Arena received a warning that it might have actually turned the tide in their favor.

Quick word from Kylie before the ad break: "We can only speculate if Kimberly was in the corner on Day One and we snatched all our chances to lead 6-3 overnight! The Brits would have been mentally shattered but instead of being on the brink of regaining the Urn we only pulled level through ten bouts and it's still everyone's for the taking."

Final result: Havana Brown def. Jade Ewen TKO8.
