Local favorite Charlotte Church makes the first defence of her bantamweight title she claimed in September by knocking Lisa Maffia out but Denise van Outen hints at an upset already because Emma Glover is one of the toughest challengers ever to bid for the crown; the raven-haired glamour model enjoyed a great summer period winning three fights in impressive fashion including the title eliminator against Alesha Dixon and is poised to give arch nemesis Rosie Jones a shot in case of stripping the Welsh singer from the title tonight.

Charlotte plans to derail the glamor models' takeover of the division though and made comments about Rosie actually being the better fighter which left Glover fuming; the mind games running hot in recent weeks and while it means that Jones is looking a safe bet for the next title challenge regardless of the outcome of tonight's bout, Church's undefeated BBU streak which dates back to March has given her a massive confidence boost but van Outen reminds everyone that all the streaks must come to an end sooner or later and Glover shouldn't be underestimated by the current champion.

Round 1:
Emma jumps in early and tangles with the champion in the middle of the ring throwing furious leather, clips Charlotte's jaw and follows up with heavy thumping on the chest, dominates the close range battle and swings more hooks around the head, nails Church on the eye and wobbles her as the Welsh crowd is handed a tough opening minute, Glover keeps digging her gloves in the champion's tummy thereafter, switches low and outworks Charlotte with an impressive barrage, makes use of her slightly superior reach and tags the chin again, snaps the head back repeatedly by the two minute mark and reels the singer back, beats Church for an overhand left to send her on the ropes for good and jumps into another midriff assault with Charlotte only capable of clinching her to see out the round.

Round 2:
More aggression from the challenger who secures the first blow again, snaps Charlotte's head back with a drilling series over the top, slams a left/right hook combo thereafter and shatters the mitts apart, sags the champion on her knees with more overhand jabs and rocks her in the middle of the ring after another hook stops on Church's temple... Welsh girl in trouble as she covers up but gets drilled on the jaw with Emma pouring in viciously; she gives the champ a proper neck crank and silences the crowd by uppercuting her way on the chin which gets exposed time and time again now, Charlotte trembles and half-spins with her eyes closed and Glover whacks her with the left hand one too many time.. CHRUCH'S DOWN FLAT ON HER BACK as the glamour model bunny hops around her fallen flesh... utter disbelief in the crowd but the fight isn't over just yet, proud Welsh girl is back upright at seven and indicates she's OK to continue... Emma pours in straight after the command, chases Church towards the turnbuckle as the champion's all defensive and avoiding action. That only makes the challenger angry and the menacing hooks keeps bothering the Welsh faithful but as Emma wobbles in overaggressive attacks, she gets slammed on the chest and must drop her will to finish Charlotte off before the bell.

Round 3:
Church still in defensive mood, biding her time in mid-range and using some fancy footwork to stay clear of the raven-haired foe's striking distance; Emma's furious but the longer reach fails to match the agility and the left arm keeps getting lower as the challenger seeks one-hand connection, gets countered from the side and wobbles briefly after a sudden hook on the jaw... Charlotte spots the opening and tags the temple before stopping her gloves deep in the model's cleavage.. Glover goes for the headbutt as tempers break loose and Charlotte zips her elbow in the tummy as the response follows but Emma bends too far forward and eats a quick uppercut on the jaw instead... furious street-like brawl ensues with both girls pounding away at each other's bodies as Church drops the defense and punishes the model's rack to a great success; Glover squealing in anger and even snapping the champion's head back gets her nowhere... Church in uppercut galore late on, bounces off the chest to clip the jaw again and reel the challenger back; crowd roars at the bell with their favorite preventing the Emma landslide after all.

Round 4:
Both women tangle in the middle of the ring again as Church switches into full aggression, seems to have shrugged the knockdown off already and she works her mitts against the model's rack to stagger her briefly and avoid more overhand misery. Emma fails to stretch her elbows, throws single leather over the top but only grazes the cheeks as Church goes low on her knees and punishes the ribcage instead. Heavy slaps against the challenger's ribs follow and Emma must seek respite as Charlotte leans on her and digs more gutwrenchers causing some worrying yelps of frustration. Glover fights back from behind the guard down the stretch and avoid getting trapped on the ropes but the high tempo nature of this bout finally takes it's toll on the final minute as both girls settle into mid-range exchange with Church looking more agile of the two but still shy of inficting terminal damage on her buxom foe.

Round 5:
Glover in a lightning fast attack, jumps from her stool but walks into a right hand hook that shatters her jaw on the spot... Cardiff crowd rocking as Charlotte flicks an uppercut follow up AND SENDS THE CHALLENGER DOWN... huge hitting from the local favorite but Emma just didn't see that coming; she hits the deck hard but tries to get up as soon as possible, almost too soon and wobbles a bit but gets the referee's approval... Church pours in with more facial assault and snaps the head back in a furious attack as Glover can only moan in pain and one can suspect how is that jaw of hers doing.. raven black hair flying all over the place as Church reels the model onto the ropes and switches targets, hammers away at the tummy and bends the challenger forward, slams another uppercut and whips Emma back onto the ropes execution style... more punishment follows and Church goes all in, slams a left/right combo on the temples AND GLOVER'S DOWN AGAIN ONTO HER KNEES.... Welsh crowd on their feet smelling the model's last stand... Glover in a heroic effort to get up, manages to do so at nine but is in no shape of putting up a fight... lest the man in charge cares as he refuses to halt the contest and Church can slam another couple of punches on the temples to turn Emma's lights out for good... GLOVER COLLAPSES ONTO HER FACE and it's as vicious as only the Welsh singer can be.. KO5 and STILL the bantamweight champion... CHARLOTTE CHURCH!!!

AFTER: Church rises from the ashes and overcomes a tough early period to knock the buxom glamour model unconscious and quite frankly she was a bit fortunate while catching Emma at the start of the fifth round which spelled the end of the challenger's bid for the title. Glover can take a punch well but Charlotte has developed a fearsome offensive stance in recent months and send several high-profile opponents packing. And now she prevents an old clash being revisited as Rosie Jones won't have the opportunity to punish her fellow model nemesis and has to prepare for the more experienced Welsh singer instead.

Denise van Outen believes that Rosie is an improved version of Emma, regardless of Charlotte's pre-fight mind games and given the chance, she won't mess around with the redhead nor allow herself to get exposed. "The Lookouts long deserve to have a shot at this now that Jenna Coleman is targeting to punch Christina Ricci's boobs off back in the States. Not since Imogen Thomas have we seen a more impressive run from a so-called glamour model and there's no denying that Church will have to watch her mouth or else she's gonna end up flat on her back in a hurry!"

As the BBU TV coverage from the Cardiff International Arena concludes, the medical team revives a very brave but unfortunate Emma Glover onto her stool while Charlotte Church lifts her bantamweight title belt to a standing ovation from the local crowd. Will Rosie Jones take it away from her next year? The betting has started already!
