BBU FIGHT NIGHT FROM NOTTINGHAM

(Lioness Club vs Girls Friday)

Mandy has started her career well, easily disposing of Alexandra Burke and Rachel Stevens, but Polish dancer Ola is a better fighter than either of those girls, with a run of three victories to her credit since she was knocked out by Jorgie Porter. Add in the antagonism between Germany and Poland already refereed to by Mandy – and it’s clear why fightfans are excited about this matchup.

First to enter the ring is young Mandy, the singer looking good in her blue bikini with matching gloves, and white boots – but Ola is quite a favourite in the UK, and she’s really quite stunning in a scarlet bikini with white gloves and boots.

Round 1

The girls aren’t bothering with too many niceties here, swapping punches early – and Mandy gets the better of the first exchange, using her height advantage well to keep Ola at arm’s length, but she’s landing some good shots herself, and has Ola wobbling my the middle of the round, lands a swift left, right combination to the dancer’s face, and another right hook to Ola’s jaw sends her to the canvas! What a start by the German! Ola’s on her feet at 7, and doesn’t look too worried, but it’s been a poor start for her, and now she’s having to work hard, does her best to get inside Mandy’s lead – but it’s costing her to do it, because Mandy’s jabbing her face quite easily, and Ola returns to her corner at the end of the opening round already nursing a little cut to the corner of her right eye.

Round 2

Ola’s boxing more sensibly now, using her undoubted leg power to literally dance away from Mandy’s lunging punches, but she gets caught with that left again as she stays in range for too long, and has to take a bit of a mauling until she gets in tight to hold Mandy. The referee separates the girls, with Ola reacting more quickly, and she hits Mandy nicely to the body, forcing the younger girl backwards, only to get picked off again when she gets in too close in her anxiety to get back into this fight, with Mandy’s accurate punching again leaving it’s mark on the Polish girl’s pretty face, her nose leaking a little blood as the taller boxer starts to work her over, and Ola’s having to concentrate on protecting herself now as Mandy lays into her with both gloves as she seems to think she’s already got the dancer beaten, and when Ola staggers to her corner at the bell, it’s hard to see that she’s wrong!

Round 3

Mandy’s really looking good now, and she’s giving it to Ola again, pushing her back towards the ropes, and she’s looking for a big punch now, swinging in some hefty hooks at Ola’s face, wanting to finish the dancer off in style, and now she goes for the uppercut – but Ola sways clear, and retaliates hard, really punching away at Mandy’s ribcage, and she has the taller girl wilting as she hits her hard in the belly, Mandy having to clinch. As the girls are parted by the referee Ola gets herself in nica and tight again, and she thuds a pair of hard left hooks into Mandy’s abdomen, the singer now gasping as she feels Ola’s punching power, and she’s not looking for a big punch now, just trying to get through the round without being nailed, as Ola gives her another to the belly, Mandy ending the round looking decidedly limp.

Round 4

Can Ola keep up the tempo of the third? She certainly can! The dancer is just ripping into Mandy’s svelte body now, the smacking sound of leather on flesh – ahe’s beginning to wear the taller girl down, with Mandy struggling to stop the punches from landing, but she manages to clinch and hold to stop the onslaught – or at least pause it. Because as soon as the referee allows, Ola hammers away at Mandy’s body again, slips her a solid looking left hook to the jaw when her guard drops, and crushes her with a right to the belly, which folds Mandy forwards and puts her on her knees. Mandy’s still groaning as she gets to her feet at 7, and she hides behind her guard as Ola changes the direction of her attack, swiping a right hook across Mandy’s lips and ending the round by hitting her heard to the cheek with her left..

Round 5

Ola is now looking like the prospect her stable always said she was, as she starts to give a noticeably slower Mandy the runaround, and she’s banging away at Mandy’s body again, the taller girl starting to wilt before her fans’ eyes as the little dancer hits her again and again – they clinch again, and Mandy’s clearly leaning into Ola, making her support both their weights. The referee struggles to part the girls, and when he does, Ola hits Mandy about the body some more, a fairly dull round ending with Mandy backing further and further into the ropes as Ola weakens her more and more with those body punches.

Round 6

Still Ola’s focussing on Mandy’s ribcage and abdomen, punching away at the taller girl, who now responds by flicking her left hook over Ola’s guard and landing it smack on that damaged eye that she’s carried so well since the opening round. Ola seems stunned by Mandy’s reaction, clearly assuming the rookies would fold under her assault, and she stands and trades with her, gets her cut eye reopened, but finds that she can get those shots into Mandy’s face now, and she’s popped the singer’s head back nicely with a right uppercut, which she follows with a left hook, and has Mandy stumbling a little, the taller girl again having to hold, breathing hard, her face kind of screwed up in pain. With little time left in the round, Ola attacks again after the latest break, swiping her gloves into Mandy’s ribs again as the girls square off in a neutral corner.

Round 7

In comes Ola again, the Polish babe certainly showing her stamina here as she mounts yet another attack on Mandy, still giving the singer’s body a battering, her punches a little lower now as she gives it to her fleshier, softer, abdomen again, gets Mandy’s arms dropping, and sees her chance to go for her face, hits her well with a left and a right, and goes for another left, which Mandy manages to block. Not content with blocking that punch, Mandy’s fighting back! She tears into Ola like she’s just starting the fight, gives her three good left hooks, staggers her with a right, and floors her with another left, Ola rolling over on the canvas as she struggles to her feet at 8, and she’s bleeding from her eye and nose again now, with Mandy again looking like she can put her away. This is a big turnaround, with Mandy now peppering Ola, and the dancer does well to stay away from more punishment as she covers herself, backed into the ropes.

Round 8

Now it’s Mandy with the upper hand, and she’s going to finish the job here if she can, because she’s putting a lot of effort in now, really going for Ola, her punches bouncing off the Polish babe’s protective gloves and arms as she keeps that guard up, Mandy maybe lacking the experience to change her attack to Ola’s body. At last, she gets a punch to land properly, her left hook knocking Ola sideways, but she misses with her attempted follow up right, takes a couple back from Ola, who hurts her with a left, right combination, but now she gets through with her own punches, hits Ola hard in the mouth, now fires left and right handers to her cheeks, and she’s got the smaller girl going now, surely? She clips Ola again with her left hook, but the little dancer hits back in the closing seconds, concedes the round, but hurts the singer with a savage left to the liver, which has her groaning with pain again.

Round 9

Mandy looks weaker now, and Ola starts to batter her body again, Mandy now getting moved around the ring by the smaller girl, who still seems to have energy left, the dancer banging a left and a right into Mandy’s ribcage, and her arms now drop, and Ola’s right in there now, nice and close, and she’s punching Mandy’s face now, the younger girl just about managing to hold on, letting the referee separate her from Ola. But there’s no respite for a very tired Mandy, as Ola pops her head back with a pair of uppercuts, hard enough to have the girl stumbling backwards, which she follows with a withering left hook to the body, which sends her to the canvas, the singer up again at 6, but looking very unsteady. Ola closes in to try to finish this fight, but Mandy’s no quitter, and she’s picking the shorter girl off again, and both girls look tired as they weave their way back to their stools.

Round 10

This fight is still in the balance, although that knockdown may have nudged Ola in front, and the dancer is starting this round in good form, and she’s giving Mandy’s boobs some punishment now, not bothered how she hurts the singer now, just intent on winning a fight she seemed to be losing a couple of rounds earlier. Mandy’s doing what she can to fight back, but her arms are clearly tired, her punches lacking any venom now, with Ola still finding the strength to batter away at her, those arms dropping now – and Ola gets her with the uppercut – not a huge punch, but it floors the exhausted Mandy, who beats the count at 8, but she really is struggling now, her mouth hanging open, Ola trying to get her right hook going on her, but she’s tired too, and her job seems to be done, as the girls end the fight both clinching, neither having the strength to do too much damage to the other girl.

Result: Ola Jordan outpointed Mandy Capristo.

The result was close, but all three judges gave the verdict to Ola, although her face clearly took a lot more punishment than Mandy’s, and surely her stable will be looking for a rematch – Ola’s probably won’t!
