Before: The question is, how much Morgan is left for this bout? Is this the same Morgan who put Tanya Tucker on the shelf in the early 90’s, and if so, will that good old girl style be sufficient against the high tech, tae bo-ing, wonderkind Twain? Shania ultra confident during pre-fight, boldly predicts Morgan’s retirement. Shani in red and white high neck aerobics top, red high cut bottoms, ponytail, Morgan in black u-back jogbra, black spandex short-shorts.

During R1: Lorrie shows surprising footwork, trapping Twain in her own corner, and immediately goes to work on the slender body of the brunette with rising hooks to the plates of the ribcage. Twain covering up, grimacing, looks uncertain and hurtin’ as Morgan quickly evolves into a bully, using her shoulder in between methodical body punches. Twain takes a shutout, and a post round right hand as the ref separates the two country divas.

R2: Lorrie cons Shania into fighting inside, and the two lean in on one another, firing rapidly back and forth. Morgan buckles Twain’s knees with a thumping left hook to the solar plexus, but Twain stands her ground, jerking left hooks into Lori’s midsection, and swiping with wide right hands at Lorrie’s back and side. In the final minute however, Morgan proves stronger, and she shoulders Twain back into the ropes, then bangs back her head with a curling right to the chin. Shania is badly hurt, eyes glistening as Morgan puts her punches together, pounding out a tune on Twain’s gut, bringing in the odd right uppercut to the chin as Shania is helpless. AND THE FIGHT IS STOPPED! With seconds left in the round, the ref saves Shania from further destruction as Morgan thrusts her fists in the air. KO2 Lorrie Morgan.

After: Big surprise for Twain, who had been ready to take her place at the top of the charts. Morgan still a solid blonde package, has plenty of fight left, and obviously relished this beating of Shania a great deal.
