Before: Crawford galled at having to be semi-main under Theron/Santiago - just more grist for the bitter-mill she's running these days. Brinkley/Crawford a time honored rivalry, with Christie suffering the misfortune of meeting Cindy just a smidge past the blonde's prime - fights are normally competitive, but Crawford's technique undeniably better usually has her way. Still, Christie's looked great of late, beating up stalwarts Fuentes and Alt just to get to the champ - if Brinkley's the underdog, she's certainly not acting like it. Yellow beach volleyball bikini, pigtails for Christie - Black tankini for Cindy C.

During R1: Everything works off the jab with Cindy - she lopes around Brinkley, turning her shoulders to create angles, then thrusting out a clockstopper left stick to crack back Christie's face. Brinkley obediently gobbling these offerings up, dipping too late, lifting her mitts only to be spanked to the belly, then hooked to the jaw as Crawford fights one handed through the first 2 minutes. Brinkley's stubborness pays off in the final minute as she corrals Crawford against the ropes, heaving in ponderous rights and lefts to the waist as Cindy leans back, covers upstairs, then jumps forward to clinch. Workmanlike round to Cindy as she looks Christie over this round.

R2: Cindy must have seen something. She feints left, Brinkley flinches and Crawford bends into a crashing right cross to spank the mouthpiece off Christie's teeth to open the round. Comically, Christie straightens, gloves dropping to her stomach and stares into the distance as she stumbles backwards. Crawford chasing the blonde downhill, lunging in with lanky straight lefts and rights that drive Brinkley the length of the ring while forcing her to lean too far back - Christie crashes to the canvas as Cindy tramples over top, then runs to the nearest neutral corner. Dazed and confused Brinkley barely climbs the ropes in time, but the ref waves off the fight at the sight of those distant eyes. TKO2 Cindy Crawford in stunning fashion.

After: Crawford hauling Brinkley for an exuberant walk of shame - easily the most crushing verdict Cindy's ever posted over her rival. Brinkley just caught cold, stampeded into defeat before she knew what had happened - blubbers throughout the walk at the lost opportunity. Crawford's skillful practice of defending her title with gatekeepers and elimination bouts may have paid off - Brinkley obviously not as sharp as she had been in fighting her way to the top.
