Before: Champ Delany a sizeable underdog - but Hayek not the dominant, Desperado era babe she once was - Delany certainly capable of the cute counter punching and angles that can give Salma pause. Hayek pudgy on the scales, has to sweat off a couple extra pounds and comes in soft for this fight - ray of hope for Double D who's had a great camp. Pink bra and panties Delany, black bra and panties Salma.

During R1: Salma jiggly, but sharp early, cuts off the ring, works Dana to the ropes with a stern jab, then goes to work. Hard straight right hands set up digging double left hooks to the liver - Hayek doing a passable Marco Antonio Barerra as she bashes away to the head and body of the beleagured champ. Delany really feeling it downstairs, cringing, covering up and moving her head, sliding along the ropes, but she can't escape. Bruising punishment sustained to the bell from Hayek as she puts in the body work to use up Dana's legs for later.

R2: Hayek back out very calm, crisp with her hands as she nails Delany repeatedly with slick lead right hands, turns a short left hook on the chin, then steps inside to bend her back into hard hooks in behind the elbow. Delany gritting her teeth and getting rocked - everything she's heard about Hayek's bodywork is true. Midway through, Hayek battering Delany against the ropes again, working with her elbow to push the champ back then in with the hook to the liver and DOWN GOES DANA! Double D dropping to her knees, cheek pressed against Salma's thigh as the latina stands there gloating - Delany just gasping for air, clutching her midriff - long count probably saves Delany as Hayek has to be coaxed to a neutral corner. Delany beats the count, gulps a final deep breath, then covers up as Hayek wades in. Spanking left hands up and down the right side - Hayek using her right to hold Delany's head in place while drifting to the body - Delany comes up shaky at the bell, wincing on her stool gingerly prods her rightside ribcage.

R3: Delany out flat footed, but she's finally getting off, dipping left around Salma's lead right, jerking the counter left uppercut up into the latina's bra, then bending to the right to pull a hook across Salma's chops - Delany scoring, sliding away - she's starting to land with counters. At the end of the first minute - Delany steps in, steps out, then steps in again with a beautiful right cross, putting Hayek wobbly butt and leaving her staring as DD slides out and to the left. Salma looking drowsy, reaching plaintively as she comes forward - Delany stepping back and walking the latina into ruthless alternating uppercuts to the pudgy midriff. Hayek falling apart, breaking down badly as she marches forward to her doom and HAYEK GOES DOWN! Salma on all fours, gasping, trembling - AND SHE'S NOT GETTING UP! Dana D leaps in stunned celebration as Salma Hayek sits back gingerly on her haunches unable to continue - KO3 Dana Delany!

After: Maybe not THE upset of the year, but certainly top 5 - Hayek hoist on her own petard as Delany goes to the body to cut the challenger down. Hayek shamefully conditioned for this bout, was executing well on offense, but clearly hadn't prepared her midsection for rough trade - Delany wisely going downstairs to finish when she had her girl hurt. Double D's most impressive outing has her taking the place of Gillian Anderson as the thinking man's celebrity champ - finding ways to win, while Hayek's looking more and more like Julio Cesar Chavez on the slide.
