BEFORE: Pushing and shoving in pre-fight - Olsen not getting the deference she expected face to face; Frege determined to stand up to Academy intimidation tactics. "Academy fighters aren't just stars in Las Vegas," Elizabeth reminds press-row in prefight, "we project power throughout the globe. Demolishing Elodie sends the message that France is an Academy province, and given her attitude, I'd say this beating is coming just in time. This peasant is restless, and I'm about to crush her spirit!"

Frege pouting with defiance at podium. "I will not be bullied by Elizabeth," Frege advises at podium. "Ask how well American starlets do when they come to Cannes and are beaten on French sand! Olsen has much to learn about French resolve and pride - I WILL resist her, and put her in tears!"

R2: Olsen again trying to set up behind the jab, but after a minute of sidestepping and turning Elodie - French girl's desperate offensive takes effect again. Liz backpedaling, arms up to ward off punches as she's driven along ring-aprons. This isn't the Elodie Frege of the scouting reports: Frege gambling, pouring herself forward into clobbering wallops, belting Olsen body-and-head. Elodie there to be countered, but Liz can't set her feet...chaotic brawling sees Frege scour her American across ropes, leading to beatings in corners. Down the stretch, Liz pivoting to her left to disengage, holding hands at waist: Elodie lunges up from a deep crouch with a sweeping a hook from her thigh - clouting Liz across the mouth and PUTTING HER DOWN! Splash-down Lizzie Olsen - American girl on her back in shock; French girl stumbling forward, trampling her foe under-foot as the ref jumps in late!

R3: Olsen committed to punching first, THEN moving...spirited exchanges result as Frege continues to storm Lizzie's front gates. Olsen getting buffetted up top - taking strong, roundhouse rights and lefts, but Elodie's wide with her ferocity, exposed up the middle. Liz gradually making headway - dippin' and diggin' counter left uppercuts to sternum; hanging in the pocket to roll-with Elodie's right hand, then answering-back the short right hand to chin. Frege forced to take her first backward steps down the stretch as Liz grimly gets the better of intense trade. Round ends to the sight of Lizzie tidying up Frege's midsection hup-hup-hup: French girl cringing in paralyzed earmuff, trusting her legs to hold her up. Bell: PAYBACK FOREARM TO FREGE'S BREASTS! Liz snarling, polishing off French tits in reprisal - ref moves in as both girls bare fangs after the bell.

R4: Same white-hot intensity as Olsen continues to brawl, looking to impose will. Frege catching clout either side of the jaw, frequently knocked off-stride, but willful French girl DETERMINED to take the fight to her American. Relentless frontal assaults eventually break Elizabeth's form...she's backpedaling again, trying to block the incoming, but there's too much Elodie! Sweeping hook from a bobbing crouch crashes upside Olsen's head, buckling her knees, scattering her to ropes...Frege able to hop close, get the hook off again and DOWN GOES OLSEN! Liz sprawling on her back in swoon, head near ropes as French girl's bellowing down in exultation: ref pushes excited Elodie away while Olsen scrapes herself up for 8. Down the stretch, Frege able to apply a minute's worth of bruising shove-and-slug to a tattered Lizzie O: Olsen face-in-gloves at ropes, showing either flank as she rolls miserably side to side, getting worked over to bell.

R5: Frege bracing Olsen at ropes: Liz digging in, right heel under the bottom strand, weight forward on left leg. Leads to bruising, close-quarters fighting - girls with heads scrubbing; elbows in tight; punches short - fighters just clipping and chopping away at each other's heads, occasionally dipping a shoulder to pump at tender ribs/tummy. Grim fare - fighters trading in steady doses...then Liz will pivot-out, retreat to another set of ropes, dig in and wait to receive her French girl. Close and hot-tossing, but Elodie getting the better of it: really compact and hurtful up top; issuing a nice, relaxed batting-action right/left to Olsen's body that has her trembling. Bell: tears immediately spill down Lizzie's cheeks as her composure breaks...emergency corner session sees the Academy bring Theron in from the audience to restore some fighting spirit in badly shaken Olsen.

R6: Theron sending Olsen out with a "go get 'er" slap on the rump: Liz steps to midring, lays down her best round. Olsen weight on front (left) leg...she pumps two rapid jabs; pivots clockwise; jabs Frege as Elodie looks to answer; ducks a sweeping Frege left to head; answers a shoveling right thick to Elodie's midsection. Lizzie's legs showing signs of life - switching her side to side in concert with her punching...American fists gradually bringing French girl to heel. Down the stretch, Olsen has her distance, keeping Frege at arm's length...American girl pounding out a steady stream of brisk one-twos, punching Elodie's face, spanking her breasts, sidestepping frustrated French vixen to bell.

R7: Sixth round all about checking Elodie's momentum: now Olsen works on taking back lost ground. Liz still working side to side in hops and pivots - pinging away straight one-twos outside, punishing Frege's face and breasts. Nimble side-steps from Olsen see her turn Elodie's flanks time and again...confidence flooding back into American girl as her style begins to show. Frege visibly cautious now, mitts at cheeks, keeping elbows in...she's not so hot-to-trot coming forward now - tamed by Lizzie's mitts through 7.

R8: Control established - trainer tells Liz he wants Frege's body: Olsen greedily obliges this round. Jabbing Frege into an earmuff front, Liz steps into strapping right/lefts to waistline - big, thick hacks bunching Frege up "UH-H!" Lizzie pivoting-left off the body work, re-establishing her jab outside, punishing Frege up top, then edging back in to strap-tummy again. In and out - good methodical pace...Lizzie's legs in control, allowing her to take what she wants. Frege encircled, hurting: French girl just keeping elbows in/mitts up, but paying a steep price as Liz able to bury a series of left hooks in thick behind right elbow to bell.

R9: Liz smiling, hooking Elodie to body, pivoting round French right flank...American girl settling into a lithe rhythm when Frege unleashes a wide hook from her thigh, catching Lizzie on the button and sending her ropeside in a fog! OLSEN'S ROCKED! Liz wobbly-butt, covering up face-in-gloves all shabby...Frege storms in, shoves-shoulders to jostle Liz in the pocket, then OH LORD the body-lather! Elodie just snatching her mitts off Lizzie's flanks, tummy - French girl all teeth clenched, eyes blazing as she belts away to glory. Liz cramped, stricken, issuing back slow, pushy left uppercuts and getting clobbered in receipt. Olsen ragged, bouncing off ropes, dipping and rolling in the pocket, but it's all too much...sensational French barrage finally cuts power to Lizzie's legs, PUTTING HER ON ALL FOURS! Frege leaping away shouting and furious...Liz blinking back tears as she rallies hurt off the deck! Wobbly-8 Lizzie O then HERE COMES ELODIE! Frege brawling her way in, pushing Elizabeth's head back to drape her on ropes; bludgeoning the right forearm down atop Lizzie's jugs; pouring on a strapping wash of lefts and rights. Olsen sagging, trying to clinch down the stretch...she gets her right arm over Frege's left shoulder, but can't tie up as Elodie pushes weight forward. Elodie working out of the wrap - her left under Olsen's right, riding round Olsen's back; Olsen's right draping Frege's shoulders...French girl starts pumping-tummy right hands! Crowd roaring as Elodie's shoving home the hurt - Frege with her head in close to Olsen's right cheek, holding American against the ropes in wrap configuration - uncontested right hands working, working, working that trembling gut! Frege's backside shuddering side to side with the punching - poor Olsen's face pinched in shock, lips parted...all she can do is take! Thirteen unanswered blows to the pit of Lizzie's tummy; bell sounds; Frege jams in extra insurance; ref pulls French girl off. Olsen sagging against ropes, hugging her battered body; Elodie struts to French corner hands high, eyes blazing!

R10: Elizabeth: frazzled, disheveled, flat footed. Elodie: scuffed-but-upbeat, bright-eyed, stepping-to. Girls dukes-up, leaning forward - Elodie reaches her left hand out jabbing Lizzie's face PIK! PAK! Olsen taking with sullen fatigue, answering back her own straight left, then girls trade right hands/hot left hooks. Olsen struck to chin in exchange, knees buckling...she stumbles back into ropes, rights herself, maintaining her forward aspect. Frege cautious on approach, but determined...dukes up, she stoops, jabs her left hand into Olsen's tummy; straightens to hook Olsen's tits via thumbside-up delivery; stoops to shoot the straight right into Olsen's breadbasket. Elizabeth grimacing, grumpy, but hooking back, cuffing Frege on the temple. Frege rises from crouch, hooking Lizzie's chin, spilling Academy blonde into ropes all bleary eyed. Olsen covers up earmuff, stooping forward butt-in-ropes: cue beat down as Frege squares away, works the body behind either elbow, then scrapes uppercuts through the middle, punishing tits and face indiscriminately. Elodie strong to the finish line on wilting Lizzie - Frege's right uppercuts curling past her own left cheek on follow through, left uppies past her right cheek; wide, whacking body-blows landing CHUP! CHUP! CHUP! in Lizzie's tender midsection or piping-hot flanks. Bell: Frege pushing off exhausted American guard, screaming in french...comes back UD10 in upset fashion, Elodie Frege!

After: 5 rounds a piece, but knockdowns seal the deal for Elodie. Laetitia Casta among the European luminaries in the ring to congratulate Frege on beating down one of the best and brightest young American prospects...Elodie suddenly looking like a girl who can handle herself in an FCBA ring. "I was excited to punch," Elodie chirps in postfight - face well-scuffed by Olsen's accurate mitts, but eyes bright with triumph. "I am known as a - how you say...exquisite boxer, and I have good defence, but we did not know if those measures would work against Elizabeth. She is so slick and strong with her own boxing...we made the decision in camp to hit her hard from the outset.
