BEFORE: Mutual respect the rule between fighters - Freeman and Righetti often seen chatting together in between photo-set ups or prefight downtime...both girls happy to keep the heat in the ring. "Third time's the charm," Cassidy says with a rueful smile. "She's a great fighter - maybe the best celebrity fighter ever - and I've got the losses to prove it. But I know she's felt my strength in our encounters and I know she's not sleeping on me. I get what I have to do; I know I've got the heart to do it; now I just have to have the skills under fire to get this woman beat!"

Righetti upbeat, enjoying the perceived risk posed by Freeman. "You stop a girl twice, you expect to see a certain reluctance in her eyes," Amanda grins at podium. "You expect her to be gunshy, a little hinky...man, you do not get that vibe from Cassidy at all. I knew I'd have to put a few wins together to break this filly, so this is pivotal. I want to stop her a third time - maybe punish her a bit - because I want to see some hesitation creep into her game. A girl keeps coming at you and coming at you full steam...she's bound to get lucky. I want to start diminishing her, start showing her that there's no room for her at the top. We'll see what happens, but if I get my way again, I'll be breaking her spirit at least a bit in this fight!"

Fighters typically falling in after exchanging a few blockbusters - Amanda riding her left hand behind Cassidy's head, tugging her in close for ref's break. Down the stretch - Amanda using that left hand head-control technique when Cassidy shocks the champ a ripping right across the belly, doubling it into a vicious right uppercut: Righetti's right leg swings out to the side, causing her to stagger backwards a couple of steps...Freeman able to step-in a clubbing hook across chops to steal the round late.

R2: Same bashing give-and-take early - both women getting their backs into brutal, compact power shots from either side. Righetti changing tack midway through - punching her jab to Cassidy's face to prep; taking a little counter-clockwise step; jabbing again to make sure, then dropping in the hot right cross. Freeman getting tagged as she's turning-with...Amanda able to use angles, get some murderous looks at Cassidy's chin - Freeman's legs passing a series of tests, though Cassidy's wobbly-butt at bell.

R3: Hammer and tongs slugging at the open: both women trying to establish early dominance, then consolidate from there. Cassidy gobbles up a torrid right uppercut to chin a minute in...she backs away shaky. Amanda steps-to, hooking hard to head: Cassidy rolls-with to her left, countering via the left uppercut off the left plant-leg...DOWN GOES BIG-RIGS! Well timed shot catches Amanda coming in - champ's right foot slides forward, putting her off balance - she reels backward, taking a seat near the ropes. Righetti beats the count, blinking to clear her head: Cassidy wades in and POURS a beating to her rival. Short shots - Cassidy moving in close with hands at her chest, elbows in - dipping on her hips, twisting side to side to hack vicious, smiting blows to Righetti's head. Amanda beaten from one foot to the other, not answering back...champ trusting curvy legs to hold her up as CASSIDY POUNDS AWAY TO GLORY! Right uppercut rocks Amanda into ropes deep in swoon: Righetti's eyes staring, mitts loose at her chest as Cassidy belts an insurance hook to chin at bell. Amanda sagging against ropes, out on her feet...Cassidy stomps back to corner all angry-butt, ferocious-eyes.

R4: Amanda hurt, but rallying...she pumps a stiff left jab, steps to her right, keeping Cassidy at arm's length early. Freeman weaving side to side, mitts-at-mouth...she's looking to crouch-and-lunge forward, hooking hard for Amanda's chin. Righetti leaning away to evade, then jab-jabbing, managing Cassidy's brawny power with slick ring-management. Down the stretch, Cassidy erupts up from her crouch with a concussive hook to rack...Amanda startled, trying to rebalance - Freeman bobs-and-lunges hook to chin, finally landing a beaut! DOWN GOES RIGHETTI! Amanda crashing to her back, head bouncing off canvas...she's a rickety vixen trying to sit up, roll over her right hip to beat the count! Amanda stumbling face-first to ropes, swaying on the spot - bell sounds before Freeman can add on extra!

R5: Righetti trying to leg to her left, trying to shake off Freeman's power, but Cassidy rushes in, left hand palming Amanda's face, right hand palming chest, shoving the champ several feet backward to sprawl against ropes! Freeman wades in mitts-at-mouth - unleashing a withering right sidearm wallop to midsection; Righetti groaning, covering up earmuff, stooping forward behind her mitts. Left uppercut from Cassidy; extra left uppercut - Righetti's belted back spellbound, upright against ropes, eyes blinking out of sync. Gorgeous sidearm right takes Amanda across the waist again, bunching her forward "UH-H!" into Cassidy's arms. Freeman hurling champ ragdoll back into ropes, collecting knuckles-together at chest before deploying a cracking hook to chin up top, then a right: Amanda facing into the blows, getting her head toggled...she's out on her feet! Righetti's powerful legs keeping her upright, but her torso's tilting sleepily forward...Cassidy loads weight on her right leg, jerks the right uppercut to Amanda's chin, hooks Righetti's jaw as champ's lolling back into ropes, sending mouthpiece flying into the expensive seats. Chopping overhand right HAMMERS Righetti's head over top rope, dropping her hands to her waist...Cassidy pushing her girl upright at ropes to set, then looking to pile on when THE REF STEPS IN! Amanda all big-girl deadweight in ref's arms: TKO5 for the winner and NEW welterweight champ - Cassidy Freeman!

After: Tension in postfight - not between Amanda and Cassidy, but Katrina Law and Cassidy when Freeman visits the Bonzo corner to offer her sentiments...officials walk the new champ back to her corner before flaring tempers get translated into flying fists. "Takes a lot to get her out of there," Cassidy acknowledges in postfight, "but when I put her down, I knew she was hurt. I kind of felt like I had her, but you never know...had to belt her my hardest shots to keep her from recuperating, and the pressure paid off. Law's already chirping at me, but I don't want to think about her or anybody else right now. I just want to savour this moment. Tonight I beat Amanda Righetti helpless, guys...is there anything finer than that?"
