BEFORE:

"Even I can see what the plan is here," says Lauren with a shake of the head. "Blow the dust off of Front Street's new toy before taking her out on the highway. Unfortunately, I plan to put some scratches in the paint and dents in the fenders."

"I'm just glad to be back in the ring," says Leven with a smile. "It's been a while. And I can't wait to show my new management just what it got in the trade."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "We're back at ringside and that's 'Green-Eyed Lady' by Sugarloaf, and here comes the green-eyed lady herself, Lauren German..."

McCarthy: "German's song should be 'Dreaming Of A Win', because, like a typical Hooker opponent, she doesn't HAVE one..."

Tess: "Lauren, of course, has only HAD two FCBA fights, and both opponents were pretty good. One was Poppy Montgomery and the other was former FCBA Champion Grace Park."

McCarthy: "All I know is, ZERO wins..."

Cassie: "Hmm. Let me think who ELSE lost to Montgomery and Park..."

McCarthy: "Shut it, Scabbo!"

O'Dell: "German into the ring, helped off with the robe to reveal a gray two-piece that shows off an in-shape body..."

McCarthy: "What's THAT noise?"

Cassie: "Do you EVER look at the prep material Front Street provides?"

McCarthy: "I don't read Lavigne's propaganda!"

O'Dell(sighing): "That would be 'Stray Heart' by Green Day, and the star of that video, 'The Houston Solution', Leven Rambin is on her way to the ring..."

McCarthy: "This is how dumb Weirdo is. He gives this new Hooker a nickname from a Paul Millsap song and then doesn't use the song as her intro music..."

Cassie: "Paul Millsap sings? Wow. Guy averages almost 18 points and 8 boards a game and he can sing, too?"

McCarthy: "What are you babbling about, Scabbo?"

O'Dell(sighing): "RONNIE Milsap, Mac. RONNIE Milsap sings. Paul Millsap is a power forward for the Atlanta Hawks..."

Cassie: "You know, the team that played in Milwaukee when you were a little girl..."

O'Dell: "Leven into the ring and..."

McCarthy: "HEY! THAT TEAM MOVED OUT OF MILWAUKEE IN 1955! YOU LITTLE..."

Cassie: "For THAT she uses the tablet HBO gives us..."

Tess: "And, for those who had 'Mac confuses a country singer with an NBA All-Star', mark your square!"

O'Dell(sighing more deeply): "Leven helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal a bubble gum pink bikini that has the crowd buzzing. Ladies about ready, so let's get some picks. Tess favors Leven. Mac?"

McCarthy: "This Rambin kid has some physical ability and she hasn't been at Front Street long enough for the trainers to mess her up yet. I think she'll win tonight, but she's going nowhere now that she's under Weirdo's thumb..."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess."

O'Dell: "So, our ladies are in agreement. Let's see if they're right. First begins with Lauren circling behind a long left jab. German showing good legs and quick gloves, wants space, while Leven is looking to close."

McCarthy: "No doubt what the strategies are going to be here. German wants to box, Rambin wants to mix it up."

Tess: "Tell the fans why, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Well, you have two 5'8" bantamweights, so you might think they're the same size. They aren't. German is a natural bantam. She walks around at about 115. Rambin walks around as a light, 125 or so, and fights at a full 120. Rambin's the bigger, stronger girl, so, naturally, she wants to close and German will want to box in space."

O'Dell: "And that's what Lauren's doing right now. German circling, stopping, popping, getting back moving before the exchanges get heavy. Rambin landing some, too, but mainly a punch at a time."

Cassie: "Leven's a very strong bantam, as Mac said, but she's got good feet herself. She's moving well, looking to cut the ring, but not having a lot of success at it."

O'Dell: "She most certainly isn't. German showing a lot of smarts and slickness, keeping the feet moving, staying out in open canvas, making Leven chase and scoring two for one or three for two in the exchanges, then getting out of Dodge."

Cassie: "I'm impressed with what I'm seeing from Lauren. Hasn't had a chance to show a lot in her other FCBA appearances, as she got caught early against Montgomery and got outclassed by Park, but you're seeing now that she can be an effective boxer..."

O'Dell: "Can be and is, as we head down the stretch. Leven not showing any frustration, continuing her dogged pursuit, managing to create the odd brief engagement. Lauren, though, continuing to call the tune right to the final bell. Good start for Lauren German."

Tess: "Has the 10-9 lead and has to have built some confidence as well."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second round begins with Lauren again legging and boxing. German fancy with the footwork, stopping, reversing, reversing again, all while popping out that left hand, giving Rambin something to think about as she tries to close and cut the ring."

McCarthy: "Rambin not showing a lot of frustration, as you said, Jenny, but she may be starting to feel it. She was kind of feeling German out in that first round, but she's really making an effort to bring her to battle now, and not having any success."

O'Dell: "German easy breezy, has the feet going, feeling Rambin's counter moves and keeping a step ahead, picking spots to stop and pop, controlling the lengths of the engagements with her legs. Lauren landing more right hands this round, finding the range a little better."

Cassie: "Rambin just can't seem to square her..."

Tess: "Think some of that may be rust? It's been awhile since Leven fought..."

Cassie: "Definitely could be, Tess."

O'Dell: "Lauren smooth and slick, all movement, not just the feet but the head, shoulders, gloves, even hips. Faking a lot of moves, then going the other way, faking punches, moving, then hitting from another angle. Leven, again, manages to force an engagement, but Lauren ducks away, circles back behind the jab. Final seconds ticking away in the second. There's the bell, and it's two rounds in a row for the lovely Lauren German."

Tess: "And the scorecards now read 20-18 in favor of the green-eyed lady."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "We start the third with more of the same. German on the move, Rambin stalking. Lauren quick and accurate with the left jab, moving extremely well, making Leven move the feet and work hard to bring her to battle."

Cassie: "Rambin moving better this round. Seems to have turned up the intensity and shaken off some of the rust. Working hard to cut the ring off and managing to do it some."

O'Dell: "That she is, and when she does so, Rambin's getting work done. Leven landing in combination for the first time in the fight, working some body, forcing German to cover up and seek open canvas. Rambin resolute, right back after Lauren, walks through a double-tap jab to land some heavy shot including a nice hook to the body..."

McCarthy: "Apparrently I was right, and Rambin hasn't been at Front Street long enough for the trainers to screw her up, because body work is exactly what she wants to do in this situation. When you've got a girl who wants to leg it out and box, you want to take those legs away, and body work is the way to do it."

O'Dell: "Rambin investing in the body this round, but not neglecting the upstairs, either. She's cutting the ring very well, forcing engagements, making Lauren cover up, work to find an escape hatch, and scamper away. German still moving well, but Leven doing the same, forcing more and more heavy exchanges, exchanges which Rambin is winning due to weight of shot. Final seconds tick away and there's the bell. Third round is over and Rambin's on the board."

Tess: "29-28 German through three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "The fourth is now underway and Rambin is right back to stalking German. Lauren again moving well, circling, reversing, slide stepping, making Leven chase, keeping flurries short, going two for one with a quick jab a follow on right and then some good leg work..."

McCarthy: "Give German credit, she didn't show a lot in her first two FCBA fights, but she's showing something here."

O'Dell: "Lauren circling, jabbing, bobbing the head, moving the hands and feet...AND RAMBIN DROPS HER WITH A STRAIGHT RIGHT! Leven a right hand and Lauren blown to her back!"

Cassie: "Rambin timed that reverse pivot and caught German clean!"

O'Dell: "Leven to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Lauren to her feet at nine. Referee gives her the mandatory and is going to let it continue. And here comes Leven. Rambin backing German up with a barrage of heavy leather. Lauren trapped on the ropes as Leven lets both hands go. RAMBIN wobbles German's knees with a right hook. Lauren covering up. Rambin splits the gloves with a right hand and German's knees nearly buckle...AND IT'S OVER! IT'S OVER! Referee has seen enough and stops it! Your winner by TKO4 is 'The Houston Solution', Leven Rambin!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Leven Rambin, and, Leven, it has to feel good to get a win after being out of the ring for so long..."

Leven: "It does. It felt different facing actual competition again, Tess. It took me a round or two to get rid of rust or dust or whatever and start feeling right in there. And she's quick and smart and hard to find, but, once I got in rhythm, I knew I'd get her, and I did."

Tess: "Big win for you?"

Leven: "Absolutely. We have six bantams here and three are contending veterans. The first thing I need to do as one of the new girls is show that I'm the best of the three developmental fighters, which I am. Once I get to the head of that class, I'll get the opportunities I need to show I belong with the contenders."
