Flyweight Title: Penny Higgs vs Emily Browning

The current Flyweight champion, Penny Higgs, hasn't seen much action in the BBU of late but does hold a pretty good record with just the one loss to Miki Hara way back in January 2013.

Emily Browning is coming back from a long lay off, some would say a focused preparation to secure the ACB title. Her last fight was a victory over Amanda Seyfried in the FCBA, an impressive scalp in anyones eyes.

Round 1

Higgs means business, placing the jab perfectly between the eyes, once, twice, three times, Browning stunned, leaning back then launching back in with rights. Penny reads it well and takes some leather though but puts a hard right into Ems mid section, and she buckles a bit. Last minute both girls are punching it out, Higgs controlling the exchange but takes a FLASHING LEFT RIGHT combination across the mouth and DOWN GOES PENNY! Browning skipping to the corner beaming as Penny hits the canvas in the firs. And she's very shaky to her feet, lip all bleeding and mouthguard hanging at the bell.

Round 2

Browning looking to capitalise on the knockdown. Higgs all defensive and bunched up not willing to move far from the ropes. Emily is all up in her face, bullying the shaken champ with left and rights to the available mid section. Swiping hooks into bar ribs, Higgs being worked over, bashed back to her corner. Browning controlling Penny, taking some return fire on the flanks then twisting into more slugging body work. It's all coming apart again for Penny. Knees are shaking, drops that guard to protect the reddened ribs and RIGHT UPPERCUT BROWNING, catches all of Penny's chin, picks her up and drops her like a stone to her knees falling forward at Emily's feet and DOWN GOES PENNY AGAIN! Higgs slow to rise this time and the ref is in there with the count, but she is bravely up at 8 shaking out her arms and head. Ref lets it go on and in comes Browning like a pitbull. Browning looking to finish, pummels Penny with a flurry of body blows all the way back to the corner. A barrage of left and rights all the way the bell and this is looking ugly for Higgs.

Round 3

Higgs comes out a little more hungry, nursing a swollen lip and bruised ego, controls the early part of the round. Looks to have a plan, owning the space, using her dance skills to skip in close and outwork the heavier hitter. Higgs getting plenty of leather on Browning's torso, backing the feisty contender up now. Higgs also countering the speedy left jab of Ems, leaning away and then sweeping in with a right to the chest, Browning frustrated and hurt. Penny's footwork is there now, to fancy for Browning, she's getting in and out with speed and grace, popping shots in the little blondes face, prances in, ONE TWO, straight through to guard, Browning stumbles, takes another left jab right on the button, blinks to miss another ONE TWO COMBINATION, left to the nose right to the eye and DOWN GOES BROWNING skidding to her butt and then crawling up to her knees. More surprised than beaten down but it's a knock down in any book and she is not sure where she is at 7. Higgs reserved in her corner. Here we go again, Penny back in there with the same routine but Browning just ties her up each time she comes in and it's a clinch fest to the bell.

Round 4

Browning on the defensive now, constantly backing away. Higgs patient, keeps skipping in to close the gap but Browning retreats. Penny's throwing punches though and Browning isn't. Champ placing the combinations on the Browning guard. Full retreat from Browning, takes a HARD LEFT JAB to the jaw, back pedals but Higgs keep coming in similar fashion to the 3rd round and lands another BRUISING RIGHT JAB to the cheek and Browning stumbles back to the neutral corner. Higgs brazen as she attacks Browning in the corner but the smaller girl starts to fight back. Both girls working away at one another with round armed punching, turning each other in the corner. It's another good round for Penny but Browning was gallant to the bell.

Round 5

Another constructive round for the champ. Penny continues prancing in with quick brawling in close then skips out for a rest and comes in again. Higgs getting the better of the close in work. She's lashing her mid section and Browning can't return fire. OH a couple of hard shots there, first a POWERFUL SHOT TO THE RIBS, and Browning is bunched up then cops a HARD UPPERCUT TO THE TEETH! Poor Emily ate that one and is on wobbly foundations. Higgs really owning the space, working Browning to the ropes, she's in there now swinging, Browning taking leather to the torso. Higgs just treating herself to bare flesh, she's pushing off the smaller girl to create space and then continuing the body assault. All Penny Higgs this round, champ is on top despite the early scare.

Round 6

Browning really brave, nursing a reddened torso, comes out eager to get payback and she's actually on the front foot. She's coming at Penny for the first time in the fight, Higgs actually on the back foot as Browning keeps coming forward with a long leading jab. She's just putting it right in Penny's face and following it with a large underhand right in the gut. Higgs picked up twice now. She's backing right off, footwork is there but there's no advance, Browning owning the ring, like a terrier just putting that right hand out like a bulldozer and then coming underneath with the body shot. OH BIG RIGHT UPPERCUT to the sternum and Higgs bounces back into the rope. Comes forward for a quick left right through a messy guard, which takes the chin, LEFT HOOK BROWNING, head snap left and DOWN GOES PENNY HIGGS for the third time this fight, falling sideways to the corner. Serious cut to the right eye for the champ and plenty of work for her corner as the bell ends the round.

Round 7

Higgs comes on looking to take back her dance floor, but Emily stops her in her tracks with duck and weave and a swiping blow to the gut, Higgs hurt. Steps away, takes a big breath but no time as Browning comes for her, up on her toes, bounces a big right hand off her guard, followed by another HARD RIGHT HAND to the temple, champ is reeling. Browning attacking in low with swiping hooks at Penny's ample rack. Higgs is loose in the corner, Emily traps her there and unleashes on the champ, just propping Penny up with the left hand on the shoulder then BLASTING RIGHT HANDS, straight through the helpless guard. Higgs head on a bobble, Wildetime corner screaming blue murder, blistering shots just tearing Penny up. Browning won't put her down, LEFT HOOK CRASHES AGAINST her temple, LIGHTS OUT HIGGS, but another little proppy right keeps her upright, LEFT UPPERCUT BROWNING! THIS IS CRIMINAL, but finally the REF STEPS IN as the former champ falls against her and she cradles her to the corner - DEVASTING TKO7 and new ACB Flyweight Champion EMILY BROWNING!

If Danni's knockout was brutal then words cannot explain what Emily Browning just did to Penny. The former champion dug deep in the middle rounds there, but it was Emily's ability to take the fight to Penny that won her the fight. Emily Browning vs Danni Mingoue? I'd like to see that.
