Rachael has two big scalps. Abbie Cornish in which she won the ACB title and the 8th round TKO of Kurkova. She faces the uncompromising Poppy Mo who she has not fought before.

Poppy has had a quiet prep, coming off some big name FCBA losses in 2013. Generally when Poppy goes quiet either something is wrong or she is in her zone so this will be interesting.

Round 1

Finch sets the tone early. Looks the better boxer with fast footwork and tactical boxing. Darts in and out, slashing at the body and swiping at Poppy's guard then placing the odd feathery jab on the button. Poppy slow, tardy, no rhythm and clearly not up to what Rachael is dishing out. Only a minute in and she is red faced, breathing heavy and totally outboxed. Poppy slow to work it out but backs away and is now forcing Finch to come at her, making her reach and getting under the shots for a bit of body work. Rach just comes in quicker, diving under and clubbing the belly of her slower challenger. They get into a heated exchange of blows and some of the power from the older girl starts to shine as Finch takes a pasting of uppercuts and her head starts bobbing about. Champion on the retreat not as she swats away Poppy's advances and the bell ends the round.

Round 2

Finch straight on the attack again, that fast footwork helping her dart in and out for quick exchanges. Flashy jabs, way too quick for Poppy, in, one two at the belly, ducks, one two hooks at the ribs, take a shot the forehead, but leans away and places two more jabs on the belly before retreating. Resets, comes in again, sways left as a jab wizzes past and she leans into a CRUNCHING LEFT HOOK to the nose and Poppy stumbles back, wiping her gloves across her nostrils. More of the same from Finch as Poppy as just constantly on the back foot. Finch just closing the space with pace and bashing her about the gut and head. The challenger now showing reddening through the torso and it's hard to see this going too much longer. Final minute, Finch bails Poppy up in the corner and is twisting into clubbing blows to the ribs. Poppy leaning in and clinching, sucking in air. Finch just pushes her back with the right forearm and clubs the left low into the gut, legal though. Poppy crumpling, takes an uppercut the chin, comes up wide eyed and right on the bell takes another uppercut which lifts her off her foundations and has her flapping in the top rope. All Rachael Finch early on.

Round 3

Finch in quickly, circling her prey, so quick that Poppy has no answers. She's in and out in a flash, lighting Poppy up and then back out and circling. Finch skips in, feints a left and swipes a right across across all of Poppy's cheek, she dives like a swan and catches herself on the top rope! Rachael storming in, the ref at the ready as Poppy has not even turned to her opponent before Finch bludgeons the side of her head with TWO CLUBBING RIGHTS. Poppy trembles, holding herself on the top rope, Finch reefing in two BLISTERING UPPERCUTS into the exposed left flank and Poppy sinks down the ropes to her knees, DOWN GOES MONTGOMERY! Champ well in charge here as the older girl uses the ropes to climb to her feet. She is well and truly dishevelled and only 3 rounds in she is all messed up. Finch straight back onto her, no rest for Poppy as she takes a barrage of punches to the abs, finally she leans in and clinches and can hang on long enough for the ref to force them apart. She spins away toward mid ring but Finch is straight onto her again driving straight right hands at her shaky guard. There's the bell and that's 3-0 to Rachael.

Round 4

The beauty queen dances in once more, circles backwards then skips in and pops Montgomery's head back with that feint left right jab. Montgomery helpless to the tactics, resorts to stepping forward and taking champion on toe to toe. Finch just backing away, leans away and fires ones twos back at PoppyMo. Nothing the old girl can do. Finch now in full retreat as Poppy walks her down but continues to take leather to the face and gloves. Finch just playing with her now. Poppy with her head down, guard to the face, walking forward, she tries to jab low but the blistering pace of the Finch hands and feet catch out as Rach dances left and clubs the left into her ribs. Poppy backing out of there now and Finch is straight back to darting in, OH STRAIGHT JAB through the middle and Poppy takes a hard shot to the nose. Eyes swelling up, and stumbling to the corner and ON COMES FINCH! Another brilliant show of flashy hands and feet to the bell as Rachael Finch dominates Poppymo. That is 4-0 to the champ.

Round 5

Poppy is a sight for sore eyes, fat lip, bloodied nose, both eye's swelling. Rach is untouched. It's on again. Round by round, Finch just doing more of the same and getting better each round or perhaps Poppy is looking worse. Some of champ's power entering in now as the feathery jabs are replaced by powerful blows from the shoulder and hips. Poppy being shredded apart. She is just covered up, offering nothing, the crowd not enjoying her efforts. Finch now staying in close, Poppys favourite zone and beating the old girl at what she does best. Close exchanges now from Finch, bashing Poppy from top to bottom. Hard uppercuts digging into her sternum, has Poppy heaving. Uppercut after uppercut, place precisely on the jugs and chin. Poppy catches a break when she clinches and the ref comes in to force them apart. Finch walks into probably the only decent punch Poppy has throw and the bell ends the 5th round which again goes to Rachael.

Round 6

Poppy gallantly comes out again, she's coming at the champ again. Rach prepared to dance away but this time Poppy lands a good jab on the chin. Finch gives a nod of appreciation. Not after the next though as Poppy lands another. Rach slow to get out of the way of a few now, the first signs of poor form. Poppy sensing an opportunity comes in low and gets a good jab or two on the abs. Rach dancing away catches Poppy on the forehead with a flashy hook. Poppy advancing still, low again and connecting with the jab but gain takes one on the forehead. Two wide hooks from the outside have Poppy Mo's head like a fan at the tennis. And finally she retreats to her old ways. Finch grinning, back to darting in and out but Poppy stops her in her tracks with a STIFF RIGHT JAB! And for the first time in the fight Poppy has her rethinking some tactics. The bell ends a very even round.

Round 7

Some signs from Poppy that she has some grit. She's forward and jabbing more frequently, some speed has come from somewhere. Finch resorting to her outside style, leaning away from the jab and coming back over the top with wide hooks. Poppy working well from the hips is able to duck under and work her mid section. She likes it in close and is working Rachael over for space. Finch taking a hard shot to the ribs, clearly hurt, tries to back away and dart back in but takes a HARD STRAIGHT JAB to the face, the second really big shot from Poppy. Finch finds herself on the ropes, guard low protecting the belly, quick enough to lean away and defend the shots coming at her face. Poppy in close, digging powerful shots in behind the guard. Scoring much better this round. OH BIG RIGHT UPPERCUT out of the crouch and Finch is ROCKED! Poppy taking it to the champ in the final stages of the round. Finch is trapped on the rope and has no answer for the Montgomery onslaught. A much better round by Poppy and she takes her first.

Round 8

Champion defiantly back to her winning ways. Bell to bell beat down by Rachael Finch. Fancy footwork and fast hands the order of the day as she darts around the ring busily. Poppy has nothing, the pace is too much for her. Even trying to track her down, Finch is too quick and with 2 rounds to go it looks like Erika is going to make her chase her for scoring shots. In and out comes Finch, one two to the gut and leans away from the counter, skipping backwards. In she comes agsin, taking leather on the gloves, swiping up top with two hooks to the gloves, ducks the counter, treats herself to a blistering combo to the gut and then retreats. Poppy confused, she can't take a trick. Finch takes that round easily and only a knockdown can win it for Poppy now.

Round 9

Poppy looks down, both eyes puffy, but she bravely steps in. Finch determined, continuing her tactics which have won her the fight so far. Rach just skips in, one two to the face and Poppy is hurt! Realing backward, Finch darts in low, roundhouse hooks to the ribs, Poppy drops the guard and then takes a left jab on the chin, another follows as her back whacks against the corner. Finch puts a stiff jab into the belly button and huge heave comes from Poppy Mo. LEFT UPPERCUT puts her head over the top rope and DOWN GOES POPPY! Very late in the fight but it's definitely all over now. The ref steps in but Poppy is up on her feet at 7 and good to go on. Full frontal body assault from Finch, she clearly wants to end this, Poppy just taking shot after shot to the belly and DOWN SHE GOES AGAIN! She must have had enough now as she drops to her knees embracing her belly. Rachael sensing she has down enough now but the brave challenger is up again. The bell ends the round and champ jogs back to her corner and doesn't take the stool.

Round 10

A bruised and battered PoppyMo comes out fighting at the start of the last round. Rachael straight in there with the tactics that have won her the fight. Dances in and places a SOLID STRAIGHT JAB into Poppy's mouth but the old girl walks through it! Like a raging bull Poppy attacks with wild lefts and rights, Finch skipping backwards and clubbing hooks at PoppyMo but she again walks through it and drives a STRAIGHT RIGHT JAB into Finch's face. Blood from the nose! Finch backpedalling still as Poppy charges on and drives another STRAIGHT RIGHT JAB into the champion's face. Finch plants both feet and pushes both fists into Poppy's chest but she comes again at the champ. OH ANOTHER STRAIGHT RIGHT into Finchs mouth and champion TAKES A KNEE! But she is straight up again, the ref calls them on and POPPY MO POURS IT ON! Poppy swinging wildly again at Rachael's face, forces her back against the ropes, Finch wearing a high guard, trying to pop shots off but the onslaught is constant. Poppy just relentless, flashes a left hook across Finchs chest and then comes over the top with a BLISTERING RIGHT HOOK to the temple! Finch's legs give way! Poppy gets the forearm into her chest, blasting rights underneath into the mid section, Finch's guard comes down to her hips, mouth open wide, eye's closing in pain, LEFT AND RIGHT UPPERCUT POPPY MO! LEFT HOOK to the temple and that's goodnight nurse! OH RIGHT HOOK ACROSS THE MOUTH AS CHAMPION GOES DOWN! Rachael Finch spun off her feet and falls flat on her face in the corner. She is motionless AND ITS OVER! We have a new ACB Lightweight Champion by KO10 POPPY MONTGOMERY!

UNBELIEVEABLE!!! Poppy Mo scored in maybe one round and has come from nowehere to destroy Finch in the final round!! That will go down in ACB history as one of the most courageous title wins ever seen. Rachael Finch is an emotional mess in the corner as she realises the enormity of what just happened. All she had to do was make it through that round and the title was hers on a platter!!
