Before: Shania continues her unholy crusade against Tank Enterprisers, obviously looking to send a message by battering rugged Williams. Michelle clearly not on the same league skills wise--but the durable blonde is exactly the sort of fighter who has given Twain trouble in the past—no one knows how to train for Shania better than the TE stable. Michelle in red sports bra, white adidas terrycloth trunks, Shania black push up, black short skirt, entering ring with hair up, men’s white dress shirt in lieu ring robe.

R1: Williams doing exactly the right things to offset Twain’s quickness and ability. Pressure up the gut—Williams chugging with both arms pumping—plenty of roughhouse as she bodies Shania back, ruining that exquisite footwork. Twain getting suckered into slugging early, trades hooks on the chin late that see her legs quivering at the bell.

R2: Twain adjusting, comes out much quicker this round, circling left, stepping in and out, letting her hands go with those snapping combinations. Vintage Twain as she rolls on Michelle this round—Williams faltering as the punishment piles up, uncertain how to proceed and letting Shania get an angle over her right shoulder as the brunette pours it on. Williams busted up midway through, and in disarray as she can’t answer the bombardment. Twain stepping left bounces the hook, chopping right hand off Williams’ right eye and Mish takes a knee in shock. Twain smug as she backs off—shopworn Williams beats the count at the bell.

R3,4: Twain taking a little off the fastball, puts on the boxing clinic—stepping in and out to flash intricate three punch combinations, then circling behind a flicking jab that keeps Williams on the outside. Michelle tentative—face glossy from the punishment, isn’t pay the price to get Shania off her game..

R5,6: Nice turn around for Michelle as she gets low, and bobs her way in, eating jabs, but putting her head on Shania’s shoulder and scrubbing that tight gut with ripping swipes in these round. Twain gurgling, retreating awkwardly—Williams roughing her up, shoving her, holding and hitting. Twain getting shutout in the sixth on the ropes and is in obvious discomfort as Michelle tans her sides with wide clobbering blows.

R7,8: Shania turns the tide, once again dictating with her feet, peppering and swatting her combinations to keep Williams on the defensive, but Michelle is taking the punches much better. Still, blonde can’t get off when Twain moves, boxes, and it’s getting late.

R9: Michelle makes her move. Bending at the waist, Williams times Twain’s jab, and rocks the brunette midway through with a lunging Frazieresque hook out of the crouch that has Shania stepping in fence post holes. Michelle pouncing, bodies Twain to the ropes and helps herself to handfuls of brunette hip and waist—slugging furiously as Shania cries out, twists and turns to protect herself, Fearsome mugging peters out and Twain is able to clinch late, swat crotch with a sneaky left hand to double Mish over at the bell. Twain just holding her close until referee intervention.

R10: Good back and forth for much of the round as both girls sense it’s close. Michelle having her moments on the inside, walking Twain back—Shania stepping out and popping combinations as Mish tries to weave. Late in the round, Shania relies on the jab, swabbing Williams’ eyes and keeping her distance—Mish can’t get past it. Unanimous duke Shania Twain.

After: Williams disappointed, shaking her head in the ring as a relieved Twain struts in victory. Williams hurting Twain late—had it been early this might have been a different fight. Shania giving up on knocking Williams out, boxed her way to a smart decision—claims she was “carrying the kid” to draw out the beating.
