Before: No sign of the mutual respect that characterized Bell/Theron—Swanson demanding her props, aching to get Bell in trouble and promising a body beating the likes of which Cat has never known. Bell’s heard it all before and keeps her cool, but pundits buying some of the Swanson bravado—she’s been battering partners on sparring and is as focused as a challenger could be. Bell in electric blue bikini, Swanson in a deliberate psyche-job wears the identical suit.

During R1: Girls meet midring--Bell accepting the challenge inside and it’s trench warfare for all 3 minutes. Kristy orthodox on the outside—inside she leans forward, drops the left to her side, curls the right across her tummy, and just whips and curls shirt right hands to Cat’s jugs, robs and midriff—all keg and body behind the swats. Cat with the right at her cheek, left at her gut, looks to clip at Kristy’s face with a little right uppercut, turn her shoulder into cranking left hooks to the jaw and body. Bitter struggling for territory as the girls punish each other tit for tat—round to Bell by a nose.

R2: Kristy winging from outside—Bell retreating calmly, bending at the waist to slip punches and midway through the round she walks Kristy into a perfect right uppercut from the waist—Swanson staggers to all fours—getting up quickly and shaking her head “no” with a determined look, Swanson recovering nicely, bodies up and dictates inside to the be\ll, but Cat scores a big 10-8 round.

R3: Toe to toe slugging continues as the girls crowd in, bending forward, curling blows uP underneath into taut bodies and buxom chests. By the final minute, Cat looks a little winded, standing in covering up and letting Swanson work, Kristy gets on the board, stepping with Bell, laying on the whippy right hand and finishing the round with a series if jerking right uppercuts to the breasts, left hand at her side as she saws away in close.

R4,5: Bell stringing together some minutes, really outs it to Kristy who covers up and is beaten raw to the sides and belly. Cat stepping with Swanson, keeping her head on the blonde and lifting her mitts up into the girls’ sturdy body. Kristy sluggish, wincing, wandering a little as Cat clubs her around the ring. Final minutes of round five sees Swanson finally move her hands, bouncing a nice curling uppercut off Bell’s abs at the bell.

R6: Kristy taking over, but Cat giving ground grudgingly. Surprisingly little clinching as neither girl reach around behind the other—both want to work inside. Even trading until the final minute when Swanson asserts herself, punishing Bell up and down the left side with thudding right hands that have Cat a little drowsy, Bell’s butt touching the rope for the first time as Swanson leans on her, punches with single right hands to the tummy at the break. Swanson with a little shove, trying to get inside her girl’s head in a close fight.

R7: Bell up on her toes for the first time, bangs out some stiff jabs, circles and piles points this round. Swanson momentarily handcuffed, follows Cat around for most of the round before cutting off the ring and bringing the fight to Bell’s ribs once again. Cat beginning to cringe, bending and turning her body as Swanson piles on once again, Round to Bell, but she looks hurt as she grimaces in her corner.

R8: Kristy coming on, walking Bell back, helping herself to Bell’s sides and midriff with both hands as she keeps up the beat. Cat not punching back, spending long stretches just covering up, stepping away and jerking as Swanson’s heavy mitts club away to the waist, At the bell, Cat exhaling, flush faced—she’s bruised fruit at this point.

R9: Kristy in control, all loose and rubber armed inside, hounding Bell along the ropes, bashing away at the ribs and jugs with murderous right hands—Bell hurting, covering up, but she can’t get outside as Swanson stays on her. Kristy with her hands low, twists and lifts her punches up into the brunette and is the brighter eyed at the bell.

R10: Kristy committing to Bell’s jugs, pounds a look of pain and frustration onto Cat’s face as the brunette fades to the ropes and hunches forward. Bell countering intermittently, but she can’t discourage Swanson, Kristy wailing away with loose limbed power to either side if the brunette, bashing and clubbing relentlessly as Bell looks shaky. Down the stretch, Cat bailing out, trying to wander off, but Kristy steps with her, punching her hard to the midsection along the ropes to the bell. Cat in obvious discomfort, Kristy lifting her mitts in triumph—but it goes at a UD10 Cat Bell!

After: Swanson outraged at the decision: “That wasn’t a fight, it was a mugging! I slip and they give her the fight. This is bleep bleep bleeeeep!” 5 rounds a piece, knockdown the difference in a very close fight. Swanson stronger down the stretch, but Bell’s early dominance couldn’t be dismissed. Kristy talking a page from Theron’s book and expanding the section on jug mugging—clearly had Bell distracted from heartless uppercuts to the cups. Cat admitting that Kristy was stringer inside than she had expected—Swanson not all talk.
